This was a great listen .. I know mark mentioned that a lot of men have an “all or nothing “ mentality and I just wanted to say that loads of women have this too that struggle with their weight . I used to do this myself and it’s definitely not helpful

This was really good, thank you. Oh and about 10% of the calories in a potato comes from protein (they're about 20% carbs, 2% protein by weight). Along with fibre and micronutrients probably adds slightly to the satiety.

The part missed about oil vs animal fats. The satiety signaling. The oils do not signal the same way. Try eating a stick of butter, or the equivalent of oils. Or the two different ones in rice. Or something comparative. The butter definitely signals full. Try it out. Mashed potatoes could be a trial. Do it a week apart. Measure how much you eat and when you feel full. Or push it to the upper limit of consumption. For me it is very different. Probably triple the calories could be consumed by me if it was oil.

"Gym culture" has been ruined by fitness influencers who are self absorbed and judgmental. Joey Swoll calls out a lot of that behaviour. If that's not put back in control, ppl's belief that the gym is an "intimidating" and "judgmental" place, will become/is reality.

Fasting and then eating lots of animal products is very effective. Low carb and meal timing is super fast and effective. And safe if you work up to it. Do three normal meals a day for some time, then two meals a day, then one. See how it goes. If you lift then up the meal counts per day. Like mark said, some do 5 meals a day, some do 7. It's crazy. For me one meal a day does make me weak with some amount of lifting, not a lot. But if you are trying to re-create Christian bale's physique do no meals a day for a month. It's a lever to pull. Keep on the supplements and salt.

I've tried everything .. feels like flight or flight mode 24/7.

Oils from cold processing are better than heated, chemical extracted, refined. But they are still not good in any great quantity. EVER. Take some animal ones and deep fry things, magically that isn't so bad. For me it is ok and safe. I've done the comparison. 39 years of sad diet, fast food is bad for me. Deep fried chicken in beef fat or lard at home and french fries, donuts too are superior. I can tell when i get old heated oils from a restaurant, it blows me up. But home cooked animal fats do not do that. Try it, but you have to take a few weeks off the other oils to make a good comparison. The two worst oils are corn oil and olive oil when heated and kept at high temp. They will fatten you up. Those potato chips, i bought into thinking it's mono-saturated, it's better. No those have more trans fats than canola/soy. Corn is even higher in trans fats when heated. I got diabetic heels, they are pretty good now, but i have a few numb spots that will never come back to touch sensitivity. I can send you my heel pictures. Looks like a rotted flesh wound, cracked and bleeding.
Compare this to how carnivores eat. Some of them butter fast. 2 stick of butter a day. They don't keel over and their blood work is amazing. But try what works for you.
