I love Marks message. I found the genius life podcast from the power project. I have been an avid follower since. Keep it up Max.
This was a great listen .. I know mark mentioned that a lot of men have an “all or nothing “ mentality and I just wanted to say that loads of women have this too that struggle with their weight . I used to do this myself and it’s definitely not helpful
This podcast was Genius, loaded with handy tips. Love the insights into balancing all 3 macros, plus the benefits of reflecting on your behaviour without putting yourself down 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was really good, thank you. Oh and about 10% of the calories in a potato comes from protein (they're about 20% carbs, 2% protein by weight). Along with fibre and micronutrients probably adds slightly to the satiety.
Love your podcast and very informative, no gatekeeping lol also its hard for restaurant to customized order is because they usually mass prep them already
Thank you mark!!!!
Thanks for all your podcasts and info Max!!! ❤❤❤🎉
You are so welcome!
Cool, looking for to this one.
The part missed about oil vs animal fats. The satiety signaling. The oils do not signal the same way. Try eating a stick of butter, or the equivalent of oils. Or the two different ones in rice. Or something comparative. The butter definitely signals full. Try it out. Mashed potatoes could be a trial. Do it a week apart. Measure how much you eat and when you feel full. Or push it to the upper limit of consumption. For me it is very different. Probably triple the calories could be consumed by me if it was oil.
I lifted weights at Mid Hudson bodybuilding, Mike and Terry were the owners! Good memories 💪
Sharpen up max
His approach makes total sense. I don't disagree with him on any of it !!! I say do what works for you. And clearly, it works for him. 💜💪🏽🏋♀️
Mark has a great attitude, love how he avoids dogma but still has some guiding principles
@@xp1296 agreed!!!
Right on with nutrition science being bunk.
Nice hat Muscle Yoda!
Great stuff…my only disagreement is that mustard is the superior addition to boiled eggs.
"Gym culture" has been ruined by fitness influencers who are self absorbed and judgmental. Joey Swoll calls out a lot of that behaviour. If that's not put back in control, ppl's belief that the gym is an "intimidating" and "judgmental" place, will become/is reality.
I’m curious and don’t mean to be rude but can you tell me what it is you are drinking Max?
Fasting and then eating lots of animal products is very effective. Low carb and meal timing is super fast and effective. And safe if you work up to it. Do three normal meals a day for some time, then two meals a day, then one. See how it goes. If you lift then up the meal counts per day. Like mark said, some do 5 meals a day, some do 7. It's crazy. For me one meal a day does make me weak with some amount of lifting, not a lot. But if you are trying to re-create Christian bale's physique do no meals a day for a month. It's a lever to pull. Keep on the supplements and salt.
M8 just said eatting three apples makes you feel full. Bro what. I can easily eat 2000g of apples and thats only a thousand calories.
You seem a little sleepy Max.
I saw you on Chris Williamson’s channel, and that led me to look for you. While you seem very thoughtful and interesting, your titles make the videos seem like total clickbait. If I hadn’t seen you first, I’d have skipped without looking.
I sincerely hope you get your YT channel back, Mark. If you do, always remember how this made you feel before you and Andrew block people for respectfully criticizing some of your nutritional advice.
“Genius life” huh. Kind of self aggrandizing wouldn’t you say
Max, my man, you look like you need sleep.
You’re probably right. 😅
@maxlugavere if you have any helpful sleeping tips I'd be more than willing to try... I've been running on 3.5 hrs a night since my brother's death at the end of September.... it's been brutal but my body just won't let me sleep. I've tried everything .. feels like flight or flight mode 24/7.
@@mauimanda04have you tried therapy? I’m very sorry for your loss.
@kathya1956 it's how my body responds to trauma. Same when I had an abusive ex husband. I can do all the therapy in the world but my body is on go-go-go mode. I really don't feel shitty to be honest. Just know recovery time is needed for my cells and to be at top of my game
Oils from cold processing are better than heated, chemical extracted, refined. But they are still not good in any great quantity. EVER. Take some animal ones and deep fry things, magically that isn't so bad. For me it is ok and safe. I've done the comparison. 39 years of sad diet, fast food is bad for me. Deep fried chicken in beef fat or lard at home and french fries, donuts too are superior. I can tell when i get old heated oils from a restaurant, it blows me up. But home cooked animal fats do not do that. Try it, but you have to take a few weeks off the other oils to make a good comparison. The two worst oils are corn oil and olive oil when heated and kept at high temp. They will fatten you up. Those potato chips, i bought into thinking it's mono-saturated, it's better. No those have more trans fats than canola/soy. Corn is even higher in trans fats when heated. I got diabetic heels, they are pretty good now, but i have a few numb spots that will never come back to touch sensitivity. I can send you my heel pictures. Looks like a rotted flesh wound, cracked and bleeding.
Compare this to how carnivores eat. Some of them butter fast. 2 stick of butter a day. They don't keel over and their blood work is amazing. But try what works for you.
Good insights
