    Many people hate Ronnie, but believe me, when he's gone, snooker will be a much poorer place. 30 years ago, he'd have been called a character and celebrated. Alex Higgins is adored for pissing in plant pots in the arena, fighting 80-year old referees and drinking himself to death, while Ronnie has raw poison poured down his throat for walking out on a snooker match on a day when his mental illness - depression is no act and no-one ever asks to have it - was at its' worst. He's a legend.

    No "jamie b" Ronnie said he doesn't want all his money going to his children thats why he's sending them to 10k a term schools so they can earn their own money and success and not be spoilt by thinking they are going to inherit his fortune. Lets face it he will never be poor and i think he said it as a bit of a joke. He's probably more concerned now about getting as much money before retirement than he previously was in 2010.

    @exxyeddie yeah, and Shaun Murphy is considered an "ambassador" for the game, and has criticised Ronnie for not doing much to promote the game, but it's probably Ronnie who has brought more to the game, in terms of making it popular, because he's got a bit of personality. So far as Murphy goes, he's quite a dull guy, Ronnie's a more interesting person.

  • @stunninglad1

    O'Sullivan contradicts himself all the time. He asked the referee what the prize money was for a 147 before going for the final black.If he'd been told it was a £50,000 pot for a 147, would he still have refused the black? Not a chance! As they say in Scotland, 'He does blether a load of pish so that he does.' Another thing being: Every year for the last ten, he says he's going to retire and every year he's back, 'blethering' the same 'pish.'

    • @orrefis
      @orrefis 9 лет назад +10

      stunninglad1 He really isn't. He explains this several times in this exact interview: he asked about the prize money to make everyone aware he was going for a maximum for the pressure it would put on him to actually make it. He also goes quite deep into explaining how he doesn't do this for the money and that he doesn't need it. This isn't contradicting himself. As for your last point: the man has openly admitted to having issues with both motivation and depression. He has a family that he puts above all else including the game, which is probably why he wants to retire. You're entitled to your opinion about not wanting him back, but as for myself I would hate to see him leave the game.

      +Jack Reilly Aspergers is a type of high functioning autism, many people can seem "normal" but can be on the autism spectrum in some way.
      If you search youtube for people with high functioning autism you will see many "normal" people.
      Society is fucking clueless about autism currently, including most GPs also. Nearly 20% of men score with autism spectrum traits.
      In my opinion there is a big autism shit storm brewing currently IMO.

    This is the infmaous China Interview he mentions: watch?v=b7dVkUESj3c
    There's a longer version but this short one contains everything you need to know. He's right: Leaving the black would be almost as good as the China interview.

    Ronnie's clearly a wind-up merchant but he must surely realize that the CROWD (his FANS) want to see a maximum. You gotta give 'em what they want - well, sometimes!

    The way Ronnie flicks Kens hand away from his arm speaks volumes to me, his little fake laugh along right after is strange too.
