You can't look at someone and determine they are bored without actually speaking to them about what was on their mind at that time - how we come across isn't always a reflection of what we're feeling. Apparent arrogance/boredom etc can come across when someone is in an uncomfortable situation, they'd rather be anywhere else but try to mask it by faking confidence. Can only imagine what Ronnie would have achieved if his dad hadn't been jailed..he'd had Steve Peters in his life, ten years earlier and had Reardon buff his game in the 90's : )
I don't really see what the problem is he just said that e doesn't play the way Ebon does because he doesn't like the style of play. He didn't shoot on Ebdon and if anything actually insinuated that Ebdon is the best at tactical gameplay
Amusingly Ebdon used to play at a decent speed and didn't treat the game seriously enough. He even referred to himself as a clown. Fast forward a few years he cut off his pony tail, slowed his game down by 80% and had Hendry focus x20. Obviously it worked for him winning a world championship but bloody frustrating for an opponent
Thank god Ebdon retired I actually think he started to do his own head in. I remember watching him in the early 90s and I enjoyed watching him play he was never that slow, and now despite Selby having such a talent that he has I can't help think he slows games down like this, they tend to thrive on scrappy match play cos they know it slows players like Ronnie down
He's the greatest 20 majors 37 ranking titles the most premier leagues the most centuries and 147s keeping hendry Higgins Williams Selby robbo ding trump now Wilson at bay entertaining us for decades keeping snooker afloat in the most competitive era ever keeping sponsors happy and viewing figures up all on his own terms never been a slave to the game or politically perfect..... At 43 he wins the inaugural coral series beating judd again and robbo in the final his aura and presence is unique nobody like him everything he does makes headlines and now at 44 he's the world champion again...... All other players just pretenders to his throne his longevity is legendary 👌
He's still an arrogant prick here though. That was insulting how he treated Dominic Dale here. Not a lot of money around in the game, still a wee bit better than working on a building site in pouring rain on a Monday morning eh Ronnie? Hands down the greatest of all time and that'll probably stand the test of time but he's an ignorant git too the way he behaves still to this day.
Very defensive person, not a people person at all, but he really opened up to Ray Reardon, he absolutely loves the guy. No geniuses are easy people, its just a fact of life.
@Danthepianist I doubt they will kill the sport, Peter is in his 40's now, Rory McLeod is about 40 and so is Rod Lawler, all the slow players. The future is bright really because most young players coming through have grown up watching Ronnie and so they are very attacking. Judd Trump, Jack Lisowski, Liam Highfield, Mark Allen, Michael White, Luca Brecel. All quick and attacking, when they start to show their full pottential, it will be a very exciting time for Snooker.
Ebdon and Selby use the bore Ronnie to death tactic and it does occasionally work. Ronnie's a master of speed play and he loves to play thst way. To have players slow the game down to make opponents lose their focus is well wrong. Should be a time limit on shot selection.
he sounds like hes 17, and hes casual, but on the snooker table hes like james bond, he doesnt really lose, hes silent, skilful, professional, hes like a snooker assassin :)
Certainly not for the money ? Jesus people break their backs working for a few hundred quid a week and these sports players earn crazy amounts of money . Unbelievable comment , I wouldn't exactly call it a job so needs to be grateful
There are a number of ways to mask anxiety and depression and you've just watched one. That's to the people suggesting he's arrogant and all sorts in the comment section.
He is arrogant - but people tend to overstate his arrogance. I think his natural mix of arrogance and aloofness is what many take a dislike to, not realising that this is significantly exaggerated by a crippling social anxiety and depressive tendencies. I know this is a bold claim, but take it from someone who knows: Ronnie O'Sullivan is autistic. When viewed through the prism of this lifelong condition, his uncomfortable and awkward interactions with others, his poor body language, his air of vulnerability, and his remarkable snooker talent, are perfectly understandable. I'm only surprised that more people haven't made this claim already. It just goes to show that most people don't have the first clue about autism and think that unless you look and sound exactly like Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man, you cannot possibly have it. There are countless other aspects to his character and ways of expressing himself that I recognise as having a basis in autism, too. And if anyone doubts what I've said, then I recommend they do some research before jumping to conclusions. Actually, there are a number of other sportsmen that I suspect of being on the spectrum - although, with some, it is difficult to say conclusively that they are autistic. But, for me, Ronnie is a clear-cut case.
Ebdon is the only snooker player who regularly requires the cobwebs removed from the white
He is the only player who goes into a meditative trance between shots
I don't think Ronnie has ever really put down Ebdon. I know they've known each other for a very long time. If anything i think Ronnie finds Ebdon's way round the table fascinating.

I don't really see what the problem is he just said that e doesn't play the way Ebon does because he doesn't like the style of play. He didn't shoot on Ebdon and if anything actually insinuated that Ebdon is the best at tactical gameplay
Ronnie has total respect for the other players, brilliant.
Utter bullshit
🤣
@@gav25x laugh all you want. History has been made 👍
@@75jonesy Whats that got to do with his hilarious inaccurate comment 🤷♂️
@@gav25x again, you must be delusional of you weren't watching the end of the match the other night.. obviously not inaccurate.
A tortured soul Ronnie but mercurial player, unique!!

I remember watching him in the early 90s and I enjoyed watching him play he was never that slow, and now despite Selby having such a talent that he has I can't help think he slows games down like this, they tend to thrive on scrappy match play cos they know it slows players like Ronnie down
Whenever Ebdon was on my telly I'd turn it off or switch channels. Thousands of others did the same!
Hands down the greatest of all time and that'll probably stand the test of time but he's an ignorant git too the way he behaves still to this day.

message from the future: in 2022 he's going to be even better than now!
What’s Ross from Friends doing on the snooker?
Ronnie O'Sullivan is the most interesting sportsman since Brian Clough
What was the first question?
Very defensive person, not a people person at all, but he really opened up to Ray Reardon, he absolutely loves the guy. No geniuses are easy people, its just a fact of life.
Ronnie is the reason I and many others watch snooker. Peter Ebdon is the reason I, and many others turn it off.
When the presenter says to Ronnie."I wanna talk about you." You see a beaming smile like his falling in love with him lol AWKWARD
I don’t think he (the presenter) cares.
Nice tribute to Paul Hunter Thanks Ronnie
Ronnie 147
Ebdon and Selby use the bore Ronnie to death tactic and it does occasionally work. Ronnie's a master of speed play and he loves to play thst way. To have players slow the game down to make opponents lose their focus is well wrong. Should be a time limit on shot selection.
He's got some stamina, that bloke
"Don't interrupt me while I'm talking"
What an absolute legend.
No he's not 😂

Was expecting this to be mostly about Ebdon, but a few comments at the end was all - and not particularly negative.
Greatest RUclips thumbnail ever.
Here after Ronnie became a 7x world champion
A friend of mine referees on the main tour and said " everyone is nice and down to earth apart from that prick ". Ronnie!!.
Gotta be Jan Verhaas 😂
how could you be fridnds with Olivier Marteel?
He was contractually obliged to sit opposite and answer questions asked by the bloke at 1:38. Fuck that i'd find it a struggle too.
he sounds like hes 17, and hes casual, but on the snooker table hes like james bond, he doesnt really lose, hes silent, skilful, professional, hes like a snooker assassin :)
silent? we’re watching the same guy right? 😂
Ronnie has an attitude for a reason, in case you didn't notce, he's the best snooker player in the world, there's attituded to be said about that!
Certainly not for the money ? Jesus people break their backs working for a few hundred quid a week and these sports players earn crazy amounts of money . Unbelievable comment , I wouldn't exactly call it a job so needs to be grateful
Don’t interrupt me when I’m talking! He’s a gas man! The champ does what heblikes
His attempts to control the interview all stem from the enormous anxiety he is feeling at that moment.
Aww poor baby.
No, Read the description... He just won the second round of the welsh open... Not quite the world championship
'please don't interrupt me when I am speaking'
when did he say that?
The 10 seconds on Ebdon were quite interesting.
It was ridiculous :P
Nope
15+ years on and he’s just beat Judd Trump in the world Grand Prix final, man is made of steel
Please don’t interrupt me while I’m talking 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Iit was tongue and cheek. God, people take everything so damn serious nowadays
5 minutes into Netflix and chill and he gives you this look 01.39

he asks the commentator not to cut across him then when the commentator repeats his comment, ronnie cuts across him.
Lol this presenter clearly fancies Ronnie and wants to teabag him
who is that dude in the GREY suit?
Dominic Dale
+Damien O Callaghan The Spaceman .... David Bowies brother.
Domanic Dale. A snooker player and commentator. Welsh I think.
Spaceman
He’s not a prick he just isn’t scared of saying it how it is.
