I'm here now for my confession. After I let a kid start up my Kodiak for fun, it later refused to start. I checked everything - connections, switches, fuses, battery, grounds, relay, even regulator. NO LUCK. Then I sat on the quad and tried to remember what he might have done while sitting on it. Then I discovered a very small button I NEVER KNEW EXISTED under the starter switch - the engine kill switch. So after replacing the solenoid and almost submitting to a mechanic for help, I found the problem. The kid had hit that button by accident I never knew it. I told my wife I had finally found a loose plastic wire connector, so we'll leave it at that.
So my grizzly was running now it has sat around for a few years it has spark on the coil good battery everything but wont start im thinkin a relay or just simply needs some starting fluid possibly a new plug just not really sure atm
Mine just acts exactly like a weak battery, went to yamaha and replaced the battery and it’s still super weak like it’s not getting enough juice but it has a fully charged brand new battery, and occasionally it’ll throw the engine code 12, if I keep trying 10-15 times it’ll start but some times all the cranking will kill the battery. If I get it finally going it runs like perfectly normal and can drive it all day. And it’ll start back up easily when warm. Any idea what the hell is going on?
Mine doing exact same thing. It’s an older model with a pull start capability. It pull starts no problem. But barely cranks over with electric start. Have 12 volts to starter. Hate taking to a shop. May have to though. 🤷♂️
Where did you find the trouble shooting procedure sir can you post or link that information im sure its the same for my 08 700 grizzly but want to make sure thank you in advance
you deserve more views sir, very easy to understand
Thank you
Thanks for walking us through it. Easy to follow and understand
Glad it helped

In the manufactures manual
@geotgang591 - Did you find a copy of this? I would be interested in it as well.
well done
Thanks
What were the voltage readings, you did not show them
Mines making a buzzing noise I changed the relay any suggestions
Are you getting power to the starter?
Question for ya.
I followed you're vid. Thanks very much.
I've got .6 volts from the relay switch.
It just clicks constantly. So suspect it's open??
If the relay is clicking, it is getting power. It sounds like a bad or uncharged battery
@@MikeT went out this morning started right up? No idea
