This must be the problem with my 2018 that has sat in the garage for over a year now because I have been so stumped by the issue and reluctant to spend the money at a stealership. Now to rip it apart and get at it. Thanks a million!
Dude!! I've had this issue since I got my 2011 and it's been killing me. Never heard about these having compression release. Memorial weekend I'm going on a trip so after I get back I'm tearing it down. Thank you dude!!
I have changed the stator , the starter, the starter relay , the ecu and the silinoid on my 09 700 and it’s still turns over really weak as if the battery or starter is dead or no good sound like the same issue u had going on here I will have to check my spring and see but I am almost sure this is what my problem is as I have changed everything I can think of trying to get this thing to crank. My other problem is a code 46 did yours show a code if any?
Awesome video thank you my 07 is a dog to start iv cleaned the intake throttle body changed the battery even the spark plug I have high hopes your video fixes it
It could be cuz that spring can easily pop over there it could have happened. When you try to start it and it acts like it stops and then starts again almost like a weak battery and it could be that spring is not popping back to relieve the pressure so it'll start easy
Make sure all the connections are good for the wiring that goes from the starter solenoid to the starter or the starter might just be bad Feud rump a straight wire to the starter like with a pair of jumper cables that'll tell you if the starter is bad or not thanks for reply hope this helps you
@@blakefixes3990 - I couldnt get mine to even turn over at the last. I changed the starter to a different brand one and I haven't had any other problems. It was like the starter was cheap (they are :China) But it seems some China brands are better than others. It acted like the starter didnt have enough torque to turn the motor over.
I belive tbis is the problem with mine it spins over thwn its wont and the starter gats hung up like there to much compression i checked the spring and it definitely seem to be lose but where exactly do i move it to tighten it up.?
I have a 2012 only 400 miles , 250 hrs on it and it has started hard for a long time. All electrical is good battery is good but it just seems hard to turn over. Sounds like it could be what you found on your machine.
Great Video! Unfortunately that’s not my issue. My 2008 Grizz 700 spins over and pretty much sounds like it’s not spinning the engine or the engine has zero compression all of a sudden. The starter sounds like it’s spinning but just not engaging. I’m stumped so far.
02 grizzly here 660. Can’t start it when it’s cold about 0 degrees now. There is no primer bulbs in these is there ? Honda has them. This is ridiculous. What else is it. I have new battery topped off. What tricks are there for these Yamahas. Kind of always a pain in the ass to start. Always got to choke and play with the throttle once it’s warmed up starts like a champ quickly
I've got a question for you I have a 2014 grizzly 550 and it won't crank it just clicks I've replaced battery and the starter relay and it still just clicks any advice would be much appreciated
Sorry I don't but what it was doing was you start it and it would act like the starter didn't have a enough power to keep turning it over it would turn over and then stop and then go again and stop so what it was is too much compression for the starter to turn it over because of the compression release was not releasing compression . To explain what the compression release does it slightly opens the valve to let up on the compression every time you turn it over on the compression stroke that way the starter can easily turn it over
Have the same issue, but I checked the ball and spring they work ok. did valve adjustment. still same problem.. too much compression check compression with throttle wide open i get 200psi. the norm is 64PSI. I don't know what to do next.. any suggestion ?

As other guys have said, appreciate the video. Very helpful. Will give this a try on my 2016. Liked and subscribed

I cleaned the all the connections, and put diletic grease onto the connections. This hopefully will aid in making it work
I replaced starter, solenoid, battery and it still acts like it hits a hard spot. Just today it stopped completely.
@@Everclearish same problem man
@@Everclearishany advice it was acting like it was getting stuck and then just stopped today is that a starter? Did it just finally just give out?

How much miles/km?
I didn't know Nick Offerman worked on Grizzly's, Nick with all the money you make you should update your quad :)
Would you know what wrong with a 4x4 grizzly 600 that wont start it is just like what is happening your 700 grizzly?
Your headline says yamaha grizzly but your working on a kingquad just an fyi. Thanks for sharing.
I bet that's my problem and fix. Thanks I subscribed ☺️
Thanks I'm glad I could help

Yeah seems like it's not getting enough gas you might try starter fluid when it's that cold
And if you can heat it up a little bit that's pretty cold the oil is really thick
@@maxamhomerepairAndatvrepair ok good idea. Thanks
I’m having the exact same problem with 16 Kodak 700, even replaced the battery, still same issue
Same here 2016 Kodiak. Same issue.
Did you find the issue? Mine throws a code 12 on the dash
@@darrellmcquay9808 Mine was a compression screw was loose. I had to take it somewhere to be fixed.
My 2016 model has did that since brand new .you think that's my problem?

Darrell Smith hit your stars with a hammer and click the starter button at the same time I had to do that with my 700 today
Change your starter
I have a 2007 700 grizzly that stalls on quick deceleration. Any ideas what to look for?
I have a 550 grizzly that is not getting fuel, is there a fuel injector I can clean and if so, where is it located.
What do you know about backfiring problems...I have a 2009 grizzly n it backfires like crazy...changed plugs but still does the same thing...any ideas
valve
do you have any videos of what it sounded like before you fixed it?

Correct!. Raptor 660s have the same problem with the springs
Does anybody know what was done to fix the problem?
did you watch the fucking video lol
