When I was a cast member I met Neil Patrick Harris and saw Kim Kardashian entering the ride. It was very interesting because we were not trained for those situations during regular training, so we had to learn as the celebrity was being brought into the ride. Usually the supervisors would be around or take over certain positions. Guest Services cast would also step in, and often times would start bossing us with no introduction. Fun times.
A friend of mine is a VIP guide and usually has NPH and his family when they're in town. I invited them to drinks once but they didn't show up 😂
They don't allow you to geek out, which is messed up.
The one truth about Disney is there is ALWAYS a more exclusive and expensive experience to be had.
I've had the good fortune to go to Club 33 numerous times. I've met way more celebrities outside of Club 33 than in it. I recall running into Diana Keaton at least twice, and even got stuck on a POTC boat with her and her kids for about 15 minutes while we waited for the ride to resume. One of my friends was in Michael Jackson's entourage, he was a backup dancer in Captain EO and later went on to be the male vocal lead in two sections of Fantasmic. Anyhow, he had crazy connections and got us into the Matterhorn and upper area of the Haunted Mansion once. It turns out MJ wasn't anywhere as nutty as people thought, he was more down to earth than tabloids ever let you know. Anyhow, the takeaway for me is it is WAY more fun to just be down in the park actually doing stuff than up in Club 33 looking outside and asking "We came all this way, aren't we going to DO something?" Also, there's got to be some amusing stories about celebs who made the list and those who didn't. Jean-Claude VanDamme is kind of famous for calling the park and asking for VIP tour and protection but being turned down. He had to arrive as a commoner. How upsetting. Meanwhile I've seen several A-listers just walking around like normal people and unless you knew how to look past their "street look" to see the celeb underneath the shaggy hair and greasy ballcap, you'd never know they were right there next to you.
awesome stories and thank you for sharing. BTW is there any possible way to enter club 33 without having to fork up the money? It is my wife's dream to go there and I've always wanted to make it happen but it seems like its impossible without 1. knowing someone or 2. having the money. Thanks again!

My grandparents had a club 33 membership since it opened up to about 10 years ago and we used to go few times a year when I was young. When I got older they used to let me take dates there on my own. The cool part is tickets to park are free and you just needed to pay for the meal. Had some good childhood memories there, but I think they just raised the prices too much for my grandparents to keep spending money on it.

I think it’s ridiculous that lines get stopped for them. And ya a free vip tour for the ones that make millions. I do understand moving them around discreetly to avoid big scenes but geeze. If they do t even pay what incentive does Disney have

In the same day I saw Joe Rogan and Eric Bana at DL.
Rogan was with a plaid but Eric was just chilling with his family in the regular queue for Smugglers Run. Love the low key Aussie vibe

My family & I worked at WDW and played a key part scheduling & escorting many VIPs. Some of these VIPs require special treatment not because of their fame but due to security measures that need to be adhered to.
Regardless, like the video states, anyone with the monetary means can receive special treatment.

Of course, since Universal Hollywood IS a REAL working studio, the presence of famous faces there is much less of a big deal. Many times while making TV shows at Universal and having a couple of hours break in our schedule, fellow crew members and I would just walk through the "backstage gates" of the theme park areas and enjoy ourselves in the park.
Or, they're Princess Diana and acts like a regular person who waits in line like everyone else.
I was at DL on the 60th we were in line for thunder mountain. We watch snoop and his kids go through the exit and get an entire train to themselves
I was walking to the restroom by the castle at Disneyland and heard a familiar voice behind me. Turned around and it was Penn from Penn and Teller strolling 2 feet behind me rating a banana. Seemed nice, just had 1 cast member with him.
Nick Cannon was there filming the Christmas Parade in early Nov one year. Diff situation because he was there actually working, but he was nice and took a picture between takes. Disney had cast members all around the filming area and the crowd warm up comedian with the mic talking between takes was an actual cast member, which was a surprise to me.
Wait, I need to know more about Kim Jong Un's anonymous visit to Tokyo Disneyland on a fake passport. That's an insane sounding story!

After N’Sync and before he competed on Dancing with the Stars, Joey Fatone rode an attraction at the Magic Kingdom and sneezed in my face at the boarding station. He didn’t cover his mouth and didn’t apologize; I’ve had a low opinion of him ever since. 😂
Former Disney Channel Stars like Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) get free admission to the park with their families, VIP tour guides and Club 33 access. Hilary also told of a story where she got a bag of Minnie Ears for free. It's only available for current Disney Stars and those that made Disney a lot of money during their time as teen stardom in getting Disney billions of dollars. Some needed the protection because they would be mobbed by fans at the parks such as the stars of the OG High School Musical and Hannah Montana during the height of Disney Channel.
I remember hearing Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) talk about her experience as a Club 33 member on Conan once, and when Kevin Jonas (Jonas Brothers, Camp Rock) got married in 2009 he and his wife got to spend their honeymoon in the Cinderella Suite in the castle, so I believe that wholeheartedly
I have a bunch of questions about that Cinderella suite- when someone’s staying there, what’s stopping them from leaving and just being in the park at night? I assume they have to have a guard or something who watches all night, because you couldn’t exactly lock someone in the building in case of emergency. Like with hotels that are attached to parks like the ones at DCA that one at least makes sense, you lock the doors to the park because there’s other ones available.
You need to take an elevator to get up to the suite, and there’s a little reception desk at the bottom. I imagine a security cast member is stationed here overnight to ensure they don’t enter the park but also keep an eye out for fires, etc.
i used to work rise of the resistance at disneyland and one of my most memorable moments was seeing ewan mcgregor and hayden christensen on one of the star wars nites 🤭

I stayed at the Cinderella Suite as a part of a cast member sweepstakes.
I got that treatment by a cast member one time I got to ride again because I actually gave that person a compliment one time before I went there and he remembered me and said stay on you're going to ride again

I remember seeing Gene Siskel at a restaurant in Epcot when i was a kid lol. I think he and Ebert were there to host an awards ceremony.
When I was like 13 I Saw Shaquille O'Neal at California Adventure. He was wearing a braided wig and he had a bunch of people gathered around him. At one point he admitted defeat, took the wig off and put it on his son. Kinda hard to hide when you're 7+ feet tall.
That was the best sponsorship interruption I've ever seen.
Only celeb I ever saw at WDW was in 1990 eating at Italy pavilion and Jesse Jackson sitting by us. He had a whole entourage and security so couldn't get closer.
Vanessa Bryant & her family, along with the Kardashians, are SUPER regular guests at Disneyland. Pretty awesome, & it's a lot harder to hide celebrities out there too.

Omg last summer we were eating at the restaurant with the red and white umbrellas in California. And I noticed that there was security around like a lot..literally the table next to us Daniel Kaluuya was sitting down.i was too scared and nervous to say anything

Would assume with the number of thousand of people who regularly visit a Disney Park no one would think twice about spotting a random celebrity there. You be walking around or waiting in line and some big star celebrity should be walking by or next to you.

What’s the story behind the hat?
I sure WISH security was as good and as prompt to arrive at the first signs of trouble as you describe, and I'm sure that's true for celebrities. But recently various brawls amongst guests and other disturbances have been see to grow and get worse because the all-seeing security is slow to take action. That's an economy Disney takes at their...and their image's...peril.
I've heard that celebrities sometimes dressed inside a real Disney costume in order to get into the park.
