“We did what the rules require us to do in all positive cases,” USADA CEO Travis Tygart said. “We can take comfort that justice was served and transparency as required by the rules was achieved.” Tygart said the contaminated meat came from oxtail at a bakery in central Florida. A USADA investigation, including obtaining the meat and testing it, along with interviews with the manager of the bakery, Knighton, his girlfriend and his mother, backed up the sprinter’s contamination claim.

Tren 2 weeks in blood, and 28 days in urine would be an unwise choice during competition season. Maybe for someone with no knowledge, but someone involved in giving this to their athlete probably would alert them to this. Tren is commonly used in cattle to put size on them. Tren is used a lot in bodybuilding,, known to get your muscles hard. If the test showed trace amounts equivalent to what would be consistent with eating PED enhanced beef, maybe they just cleared him. The amount would make a big difference. Even in the pro bodybuilding ranks, its a saying to go as far as you can naturally, before you become enhanced. Knighton is far from his potential, and naturally talented, and I would side with him on this occasion.
The reality is there is huge money in sports. Superstars, records, prodigies, etc, sell more tickets for more money. If a team of people are able to beat drug tests, so be it. Just like Balco and "the Clear", pure genius, someone probably still making it out there. If the Olympic committee really wanted to put an end to it, they would require athletes to declare their intention to compete at the olympics 12 months in advance and require weekly or 10 day drug test, through the Olympics. Just like the NFL could afford to test their athletes weekly, as well as the NBA.
Times have changed Jesse Owens ran on dirt tracks, what would he be running today on these fast surfaces, he did not have GNC, or any fancy sports supplements, or even hormone fed beef.

And it will be virtually impossible to test all foods and sauces you take in that are packed and bought. Sometimes they are going to eat food from their hotels or nearby restaurants because there is no other options.

I doubt ppl get mad you cover it… it’s possible those motivated that support him to notice errors and those individuals have a tendency to notice them when it’s a topic that small errors should be avoided. Like implying there’s a lack of transparency as you did. Thats very problematic rhetoric from you, objectively speaking. I was surprised to hear that. Ppl will repeat now. But in reality, it’s perfectly in line with what the rules specifically say. WADA has already confirmed why this is and what to expect. Consistent with that, it’s not a true statement we’re missing information that we’d normally otherwise have.
They confirmed in expedited investigations which is available to any athlete in circumstances predetermined such as deadlines and thresholds in the Olympic qualifying procedure, if any investigation would make that time elapse so that the athlete couldn’t participate due to the longer than normal process by the agency which has many things they are doing, so long as the athlete pursues their options within the restraints of the regulations which are available for you to read, they can trigger an arbiter decision which is a legal remedy to the auto suspension. Bc of this nuance, WADA must be invited. I confirmed with the pr contact, both they and USADA were present. So… check check and check. Bc WADA was present and now have access to the investigation material which also must be in line with WADA procedure, they need time to comb through it with their legal team and testing partners as well but again these are the same exact procedures. But they need to be allowed time to do their due diligence on top of the presentation and full hearing for legal reasons. This is the process we normally don’t see so you’re drawn to a perceived lack of data but again that’s not true. Analogous to the discovery process a prosecutor must be given time before the information is committed to public record, why would expect WADA to disclose the information before they’ve legally covered themselves? They had the right to object at the hearing. They easily could have . USADA and WADA teams were very much there.
Thus, there’s no “lack of transparency . This is in line with expected transparency and you’ve now set the seed WADA and USADA are hiding something through specific rhetoric. That’s just one small example of it’s important to understand why ppl may be upset and considering respectfully not dismissing it. It’s possible , as imo on this topic, your said something that is not great for him which punishes him for exhausting available levers in a fair, open way with the regulatory bodies. This isn’t assinga openly making claims proven 100% untrue when they tested the sealed gummies. It’s preposterous what he claimed. I’ve read that document closely multiple times over. If he had expedited invitation for example, part of the mandate would 100% be testing of course of Gatorade gummies given how ridiculous that statement is. Sure enough, unsealed ones had the trace amount on the OUTSIDE not inside. Meaning it’s not during manufacturing.they stopped there which was polite. But it’s obvious what happened. They’d have stopped right there jn an expedited hearing and quickly triggered their challenge which sustains the auto suspension as their word literally overrules everyone. They hold the power. I think it’s great to talk about this and you shouldn’t question it. But if you do, make use of the public rules that cover how these take place . It’s super important bc athletes struggle to break free of scenarios where it’s a legitimate explanation and this type of video while certainly far from cements, I’ll defend you there, is a grain people will quote your statement and say “see Trp even says lack of info is weird” when in reality in one moment you were just wrong and deviated from your habitually hyper continent rhetoric that’s been fantastic in these areas. Erriyon had a strict liability failure. I don’t support that. But more than anything I will begrudge an athlete satisfying obligations that create a path to identifying a mistake . No matter how cynical I am, there’s a time to call this sketchy. For instance if they NEVER reveal. I’ll be front of the line. That’s sketchy. And in fact that would be highly illegal. They would cease to exist from lawsuits like the WBC after the toy jones similar scenario. But we’re not there yet. Thus fsr, no matter how it looks we’re not able to speak to the validity of the results. But the lack of that right is baked into all of this long ago when the rule was written. The man simply followed those rules. It could turn out enormous mistakes were made and giant oversights on testing benchmarks and markers need reevaluated. This is EXACTLY like what happened to Islam Makachev. There’s ppl who STILL call him a drug cheat despite the commission literally apologizing and laying out a very very crystal clear path to a string of errors that after Islams debacle, no athlete would have triggered the auto suspension. But bc of the reactions and people not waiting for them to explain, it stuck. The sports arguably top figure of mma, Ariel Helwani, just last week said he popped lol this happened 8 years ago and he’s still getting it wrong. It’s not a low level or non performance enhancing failure. It’s an outright incorrect decision. Again, that didn’t happened here. It’s a strict liability failure. BUT we’re still waiting as they very well could say the link wasn’t established under hyper intense scrutiny. And if I’m honest as I’ve stayed consistent imo he’s still not jn the clear. He’s not clear until they formally announce no challenge. They’ll be done before he boards a plane for Paris so it’s logical they didn’t risk calling it too early you should have expected this. It was always going to happen like this. But the standard for establishing this via meat is close to impossible to concoct in bad faith due to how they test and how the metabolites exist in your body and resemble the ratios in the meat which they confirmed was tested. It’s possible they already proved it but you’d have to for starters literally be clean. Masking agents and even timing would be obvious at this level. And 2 you’d have to be able to replicate the result. That part has more or less leaked imo and he didn’t create the doubt - the arbiter made that clear that this has very strong legs. That may be so. But until I see, it’s a strict liability failure. No excuses. BUT we have laws and rules for this exact reason. Athletes have genuinely prove n their cases and it’s not just a cover it’s legitimate they weren’t dirty. Or they need to amend the rules to eliminate this option that still requires objective investigation of WADA certified methodology. Either way mate your issue isn’t with Knighton it’s with WADA and USADA .

I think they don’t want to go into it because then they’d have to start regulating what food the athletes eat which is just going too far.
It’s not like he is very jacked (like some of the other athletes are) so it couldn’t be much in his system.
And it’s not like they all don’t do doping and just have found ways to stay ahead of the testing.

Compare this to the ongoing scandal of how 2 dozen Chinese swimmers were given a pass for a banned substance in their tests. That banned substance is not used in food or animals and somehow it was OK for WADA because CHINADA said so. Looking at this from that angle, I do not see any issue with how it has been handled. Why should an honest athlete suffer due to accidental consumption when a far less likely scenario is considered acceptable?

Choosing trenbolone as a steroids in a PED protocol would be utmost silly. It has a long half-life of 8 days, so it can be detected for a very long time. It is also a particulalry strong supressing compound, HPG axis wise, requiring to take testosterone as well. It is still quite easy to get away with doping, so no coach would choose such thing. The meat contamination route is very likely considering the progress in HPLC detection in the order of the picogram.

It is outrageous that he is allowed to compete. This, on the heels of Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps urging congress last week to look into WADA after they allowed 23 chinese swimmers to compete after testing positive, claiming that the swimmers also consumed contaminated food. Maybe allowing Knighton to compete with the same excuse was a payback for allowing the chinese team to compete. Who knows, but something is going on at #wada . Understand that EVERY single tested athlete knows FULL WELL that they should never consume food or supplements that they are not 100% certain of. Tested athletes even are careful with the amount of coffee that they consume, fearing that the affiene will be above the allowed amount.
In this day and age of peptide use being out of control by many athletes in several sports, this is a very bad look for the sport. Many of the woman today have facial amd jaw changes that clearly tell anyone who knows about gh, igf and peptides that they are using something.

A lot of these athletes have already-made-up excuses so that if they get caught they go 'oh I know where it came from' because they already know the meat tainted, all an athlete would have to do is test someplace where you can find meat that’s tainted and then have that ready. Then get on your cycling and then when you get caught 'oh I know where that came from' - very sus .
