- Picked up a wood stove and headed out for a night of winter camping with my GF. We successfully converted my ice fishing hut into a hot tent. Cooking a Gourmet beef stew and delicious breakfast, we are certainly looking forward to using it again.

There are a lot of these channels on RUclips, and your channel is one of them. Dude, I don't mean this to be criticism, but you have to make some kind of stew for every video. Dude it is right there in your name. You could become know as the camping stew guy. It could lead to revenue from sponsorship and maybe even merchandise opportunities for you.

Hey guys, just a heads up, the stove flue is backwards. You always set up the piping so the smoke move from the crimped side the the uncrimped side. That take care of any possible leaks thru a crimped side of a pipe and into the test.

Here's a recipe for thin pancakes. Not the healthiest, but tastes amazing.
Ordinary pancake batter, but add some cinnamon, replace the sugar in the batter with vanilla sugar and chocolate powder mix.
Looked like super comfartable tent.
Camp perked coffee is the best. She’s gorgeous and can cook, that girl’s a keeper!

Marbling actually means the combination of the fats and the meat which makes the whole thing to look like a piece of marble. The more it looks like the more expensive it is considering it is Kobe steak. Such a great experience to spend living in a tent like this which is so cozy and quiet. Longing for that.

Beef marbling is the fat in a good quality piece of beef, and essential for good flavour, and gives the appearance of marble in the joint, or pieces of beef. Great video. 🙂👍
Ya, I think she knows exactly what it is, but wasn't able to explain it when put on the spot for the video segment. The meat stew did have very good marbling and she did recognize it.

Two tent camping tips . use emergecy ( mirrored mylar ) blankets under floor of tent and between tent fly and tent , and sleep with a bath towel in your sleeping bag . You will see an increase in comfort .

I've always wanted to try what you're doing, but in Arizona it just isn't cold enough... hahaha Your girl is amazing, most women (including my wife) would NEVER be OK with tent camping in the cold wilderness. She's definitely a keeper

Bale of straw for winter tent camping! My tent has a floor, so I spread the straw on the snow before I put up the tent. It makes the floor warm, dry, and soft! When we break down camp, I burn the straw in my campfire.
Wonderful you guys! Fun to watch. You are really eating well for camping. Stay safe .
Something to try next time - put some plain flour in a ziplock bag, throw the raw beef cubes in and shake well til the meat is all coated in flour before adding to the dutch oven - helps with the browning, increases flavour and makes the stew thicken up nicely. Herb dumplings on the top of the stew are dead easy and super filling as well.
Ahh. The dutch and their pancakes. Den Helder is a very nice spot. I ended up i Norway with a woman who became my climbing partner. This looks extremely cozy, although 28C is much too warm for me.

I have three types of peculators. A plug in, a stove top, and a camp fire. There is nothing like that first cup of coffee in the morning made in either of them! Others can keep their little fancy packets of coffee, the Kerigs, the Mr. Coffees. I will take perked coffee every time! That beef stew looked boss, (but I would have to leave out the wine, had a small problem with the drink many years back). Thanks for taking the time to make this vid! If your looking for great one pot recopies, try "One Pot Chef" on you tube. I have made many of them, and they are awesome.
Good marbling usually means more chances of the beef being tender....same in your steaks, etc. That red wine is a great tenderizer!!

This video makes me realize my odds of survival before the modern era we're now living in was VERY low, I mean TINY!! But more power to you guys, you seem to love it! I think I've evolved on the evolutionary ladder to living in exactly 72 Fahrenheit or 22.2 Celsius climate controlled indoors 🙂

Have to say that the Beef Stew and the Crepes looked amazing. With the new heating stove, did the covering on the window get affected at all by the heat of the pipe? Seems like the new wood stove worked a lot better heating the tent than the Propane heat you had before.
Just a little bit of colour where the pipe was touching the blanket, but not much!
Yeah I was going to ask how the snow inside of your tent is not melting on the ground if it’s about 80° or so inside! And what did you raise your sleeping bags up off the ground with did you have some kind of platform and could you recommend one? Great video it looks like you guys had a good time

Dutch oven beef stew, hell of a title!
I use a coffee filter on my percolator; just, push the center rod through the center of the filter, add coffee then fold back the top of the filter and add the top strainer. No grounds in the coffee.
2000 like for a mulet, hahaha can’t wait to see it.

I have watched hundreds of great outdoor camping video’s in the winter, before, during, and after a winter storm, I watched them build shelters, campfires, beds etc. but what I have never seen is anyone build a latrine (toilet). They don’t have to demonstrate using it, but at else show that you have one, or some new modern day method designed for camping. No one can go three days camping without relieving themselves, its part of life, human nature, nothing to be shamed about.

I love these videos,I'm in Australia and if it gets to 12 degrees Celsius we refuse to go camping haha way too cold
They make all kinds of coffee pot filters. That one is a paper circle with a hole in the middle and I use one for below and over the coffee grounds so the grounds stay put between the layers. I'd rather use clean snow for the coffee rather than mystery lake water.
You Guy’s need a Cast Iron Dutch Oven the extra weight is worth the effort! You can’t beat cast iron Dutch Ovens!

We have an Eskimo fishing tent as well and for the past 2 seasons we have used a Big Buddy for heat. It's okay during day outings but overnight we found it to give off too much moisture and we would have rain inside in the morning 🤣. This yr we have a diesel heater to try out. Excited to see if it's a better experience!
