I've had it since it first released probably 8 or 9 months ago 🤔. It's worlds apart from the XMaxx in terms of handling and ultimate durability. Both are fun trucks, but the Outcast is my favorite no question. The XMaxx can be made durable for more extreme bashing, but it takes a whole lot of upgrading and modifications.
I recommend swapping the stock plastic brace ends for M2C aluminum ones if you're snapping the stock ones. Those paired with their hardened steel brace set pins work fantastic 💪. Also adding 12x14mm carbon fiber tubing over the front upper chassis brace will keep it solid. It's available off Amazon. Wise to carry a set of spare A arms in case you completely stack it or hit an inanimate, unmovable object 😂
Sweet launches 👍. I ll admit I’m addicted to jumping RC s . I like the whole thing . Especially going out to somewhere secluded for an hour or so where it’s peaceful . I’ve been seeing some cool animal activity .

I'm fairly certain I saw a California Condor while bashing last summer. It's so rejuvenating to get outdoors and bashing is perfect for that if you find a good area. 🍻

Thanks Jakob 🤗. I upgraded the ESC for an original Hobbywing Max5 (non-sensored). Still running stock 1100kv motor and servo just advanced the gearing to 25/39. It runs fast with great temps. The stock 160A Spectrum ESC was ok, but the Max5 allows the motor to achieve its potential.
that car is a beast. My diff was alright on the inside but i'm waiting on tekjoes gaskets as when I opened it up I only had half a gasket..Quick question what do you think about the guy putting those silicone earplugs in the diff??? 🤔 I was like hu..had to rewind to make sure i wasn't losing it..
I wasn't going that thick. He gave me 15k for the rear. That's as close as they had he said. Should I go ahead and order some? Run what you said since I'm going to be down until around July 7th? So while all this has been going on, I was looking for a used something to play with. I saw a Kraton V5, but I've seen so many problems with it. I can't find anything that has what the Outcast has with the backflip head turner. Sure, it isn't good at all on it, but man, it sure is fun. What other would you suggest? I'm not feeling these new prices, but I still want to be able to hang with the cool kids! Lol
15k-30k rear is just fine. There's nothing wrong with the V5 K6s, however the K6s EXB RTR has way more upgrades. It and the O8s EXB RTR have been super impressive. Prices for everything have gone way up unfortunately. Stay within a reasonable budget and just enjoy the hobby. Nothing is absolutely bulletproof. I love most all my rigs including the newer budget Groms. It's just about having fun in the end and learning along the way through experimentation.
This session was "lost" on my computer several months ago. GoPro glitch filed it with 2016 clips and I found it after the glitch happened again 👀. Recovering from hernia surgery so taking it easy for a couple more weeks 🍻
Hey rich tell me how to keep my toe link screws from breaking. Almost every bash i break on the outers or inner ones and had to upgrade the steering Akerman plate and horns.
That's frustrating Joel. I generally upgrade my hardware to grade 12.9 socket head screws from Monsterbolts.com whenever a bolt breaks. They sell in quantities of 10 or 50 for cheap. The outer link screw is an odd 43mm length M4. I replace mine anytime I notice it starting to bend, but haven't found a suitable direct replacement in 12.9. Make sure to use threadlock on all metal to metal fasteners and keep them snugged. Hardware tends to snap once it loosens slightly and gets torqued on. Hope this helps. 🤙

I haven't had any link issues with my EXB. I did bust a rear inner link with my Fireteam recently. Will say my front EXB turnbuckle swivels came loose out of the box due to lack of threadlock from the factory. Make sure the 2 front plastic end links are slightly angled downwards on the outside (hub sides).
Rich..Can I still get the rear diff parts for the 6s? She finally gave out tonight on 6s..Can you send me in the right direction? Never changed the diff watched you serval times though so I think it's manageable!
I still use Mugen planetary shims #E0206 to replace the smaller standard 6s ones (non EXB diffs). Over time, I stopped adding the smaller Mugen satellite gear shims, instead using the newer stock ARRMA outdrive shims that sit outside of the diff cup on each outdrive. Still use 2 to 3 Tekno #1222 bearing shims on the crown gear side bearing.
Ara20041 is not a complete part # 🤔. Not sure what that is. Standard K6s gears are spiral cut 43T ring gears. The EXB K6s uses different EXB gears. The ring and input gears must both be EXB or standard to mate properly. They use different size diff cups and internal gears as well.
My favorite power setup is the Hobbystar 56112 980kv with Max5 and 34/39 gearing. I would pick the 1100 over the 800 for the Outcast if those are your 2 options.

No I haven't grabbed one yet. They look awesome, the engineering is truly impressive. I got a bit turned off seeing spokes bending. I'm sure there's upgrades at this point. Might have to take another look, especially having grown up on dirt bikes 😍

Absolutely amazing. I took out a loan for mine in September. Only thing broken was a tie rod end , I'm terrified of launching them. Extremely tough twuck. Question is , straight outta the box which do you think is tougher , Outcast EXB Rtr V2 or X Max ??? Ohhhhhh , greetings from Portland Tn. Thanks so much Scotty 🤗. Without question the EXB RTR is tougher out of the box than the XMaxx. Both are fun trucks, but the XMaxx requires tons of upgrades to make it truly durable for extreme bashing. The pot metal main gears usually blow the first big jump due to poor quality and flex in the motor mount/chassis. With proper upgrades, the XMaxx is very capable.

I only use silicone ear plugs in my 8s center diffs, in my ARRMA's, XMAXX, and XRT also. It's too thick for the 6s rigs in my opinion.

I usually run 50/500/20k front to rear fluids in the K6s. Usually Team Associated fluids.

Thanks so much Scotty 🤗. Without question the EXB RTR is tougher out of the box than the XMaxx. Both are fun trucks, but the XMaxx requires tons of upgrades to make it truly durable for extreme bashing. The pot metal main gears usually blow the first big jump due to poor quality and flex in the motor mount/chassis. With proper upgrades, the XMaxx is very capable.
