I think the same, but maybe he has a good metabolism in general. (not saying that he doesn't workout a loooot, but maybe he has also a fast metabolism)

@Der Dieter. He is I agree. I don’t know his full diet or nutrition plan but just stuffing yourself isn’t the best nutrients for your body.
@@rogerc23 Just stuffing yourself? If you eat balanced, meaning not too much candies, sometimes a salad, protein by chicken meat, nuts, fish, protein shakes, milk and also other meats and stuff, and of course carbs by noodles, cereal, fruits. You should also eat some fats for example in cheese, peanut butter,... . So sometimes eating a pizza is not that unhealthy and seriously do you want to be a pro athlet or why do you want to eat perfectly healthy? Like where is the fun in eating if you always only eat super healthy?
@Der Dieter. The fun is in winning. And that is what eating healthy brings you closer too. Hey I’m older, 50. Nutrition is a lot more important at this age and I’m 95% plant based. Qualified for 70.3 WC last month so I’m doing alright. Eat what makes you preform better and all the power to you. I know what’s working for me.

Ahhhhh the good 'ol days.....I remember when I was young and could eat crap food and not gain an ounce. Then my 40's hit and my metabolism decided to retire :(. Now I have to actually loosely count calories and eat well, and still have 10 pounds to lose to get back to my ideal climbing weight. I've had pizza once since the end of December (and pizza is pretty much my all-time favorite food)...when I was young, I could eat it 5+ days a week. These days, I get super excited when I have oatmeal in almond milk with fruit (bananas, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries), raisins, cinnamon and honey.....and sometimes spinach mixed in for good measure. Does wonders for performance and recovery compared to pizza. Dammit, now I want a pizza.

I'm currently only on like a sprint-level triathlon level, train 5-6 days a week, and I don't eat but maybe half the calories Lionel does and only after a really hard training day. And that's eating as much as I physically can. I'm 6'4", 185 lbs. Does your stomach just massively expand when you train for IM or something?????
That, and probably the amount of fibers he's eating also leads to multiple rounds at the bathroom everyday 😅
It expands a little, but what I noticed when training 15-25 hrs per week was that you are hungry only 1 to 2 hours after totally stuffing yourself. So your frequency and volume of each meal increases to fill the never ending void.
Great tip, if you like eating a lot, train like an athlete...

I was working on a movie. Everyday they ordered food. Brown, brown, brown. Fries, Onion rings, burgers, Smoked meat sandwiches. ugh! One day I said. Don't buy me lunch. I'm going to FRESHII. They bought me lunch from Freshii that day. Everyone else looked and said "HEY! That looks good!" Next day and for the next week we had FRESHII everyday. Then they got bored of eating well and reverted back to burgers and fries. A few of us had FRESHII a few times a week.

You'll adapt over time, like with all other physical activities.

I think math is wrong here. Coco milk x2 is 360 cals not 3601 cals. Then it brings the total down to 3040.

Only a 1500 cal. pizza. Not a true pizza. Back in the day it was pizza, hot dogs, fries, all day all night. And so lean and fast.

if you eat fish or walnuts no need for omega 3 supplements. whey is not necessary if he gets protein form other complete sources

definitely NOT 6000 cals. Do the math man. He is eating mostly carbs which burn clean. Look how lean I am and only train not much. Im almost 42.

When you are burning the amount of calories he's burning, you can afford to eat that much.. Remember, Michael Phelps at about 12K calories during Olympic training.

Doesn’t your appetite decrease after heavy cardio. For me after running for 1-2 hours my appetite decreases heavily. Body decreases the amount of ghrelin hormone after cardio. How to increase appetite?
So true, however in these instances as an athlete you may need to mechanically force feed to get in the nutrients!
