I’ve been watching you for a couple of weeks now. I understand more of how you teach and I love it. I practice the martial arts and I’m a Veteran Marine so it all makes sense to me. I practice when I can on the things that you teach. Especially the handgun. I understand it a lot more now. Thank you so much. I love your teaching
Really good to see another training video. I hope to be trained by Tu one day. Thank you for all your wisdom and guidance throughout your years of videos. Helped me more than anyone could understand.
You never mentioned why you hold the gun by the magwell. It might be useless info but i want to let you guys know the reason behind the hand placement Weight distribution.
I was telling some of the guys in my old unit about this sort of thing, I couldn’t word it as good as Tu does, but most of my sergeants laughed at it me for bringing it up, saying it was stupid. I still find shoulder switching very useful and practical.
Please keep uploading full length video lectures, there are lot of followers like me, who are not able to attend your hands-on classes due to either they live far away or maybe financially not that much strong enough to first travel abroad and then get themselves registered. Though I spent more than three decades in this field, but still I myself had learnt virtually lot of new things from your videos, and I'm following you since long, and considering myself like your virtual student and considering you as my virtual Instructor in modern tactics. Hope you'll consider this humble request. Regards
What about switching shoulders without moving your hand position at all? Keeping your front hand on the hand guard and rear hand on the pistol grip, and literally just move it over to your opposite shoulder and aim with your left eye (still keeping both eyes open). I’ve tried this way for sure. But when I was shown the new school way, it was a game changer.
A half switch where the arms stay in the same position and only the stock changes shoulders is more of a temporary shortcut if you just need to change for a second and get back or dont have time to make a full transition, but you wont be able to aim down sights as easily so youll mostly point shoot.
Tu such a popular army SF green beret and I’m pretty sure being in COD helped grew his fan base. I always wonder if Tu ever thought about trying out for the unit. He speaks so highly n proud of the army green berets, one would think maybe it has crossed his mind to tryout to be a cag operator
There's something that keeps bothering me and I can't seem to find an answer on the internet so I'm gonna ask it here: How do you manage shoulder transition when you have stuff in the way like antennas or hydration hoses? Is there a "sweet spot" where I could put my radio to prevent it getting in the way but stay accessible?
Here SF military instructor advise to not switch your hand when you switch from strong side to weak side saying this is the updated concept for shoulder switch. What’s about it?
Isolation of movement. Of course you can switch feet but the lesson in this particular sequence was to isolate the shoulder switch mechanic. Better learning pattern for the brain before introducing more 'complex' movements
Tu does not switch feet during a shoulder switch…it’s unnecessary. In CQB, the place to switch foot stance is when approaching corners & approaching doorways so as to avoid flagging forward foot & your weapon. Tu mentioned he avoids switching shoulders when entering (uncleared) hallways because it involves reducing readiness during the shoulder switch process.
Should you adjust the sling to keep your primary high and tight when your using your sidearm? Or do you just let it hang, or does the circumstances determine the answer?
I get it ,, you have to be dominate left handed as you are right handed ..Basically right ? I just thought about that and shouldering a rifle in my left shoulder is so hard !!
Hard to see from the strong side, but it looks like your support side hand doesn’t quite grip the same. It looks like you don’t wrap the thumb around the pistol grip to fire, but just keep it up on the same side to manipulate the safety on/off. Then it looks like there’s a slight adjustment of that grip before you switch back to the strong side.
Are you still looking through the optic with your dominant eye when shoulder switching or switching eyes? I'm left handed, left eye dominant and this confuses me sometimes. When I switch to the right shoulder, should I still be using my dominant eye? Silly question, I know.
The problem I have is if I'm using a two-point or three-point sling because even at full extension I can't seem to get it to crossover my kit properly and it gets the stock stuck center of my chest
Keep the rifle in your strong side shoulder. You will not need to switch shoulders in gunfight so fast that your kit gets in the way. It is for supported, STATIC, and covered positions where you have TIME to switch.
@@opforr yeah that's what I'm doing and it shouldn't make a difference with the length of the rifle I have the sling fully extended and it kind of just crosses over and wraps around my neck one thing that did help was I switched the attachment point to the opposite side of the stock
Thank you for the video hate. I'm not a veteran. But life has made me hate. Thank you I'm working on myself. Like you said, that's the best cup of coffee I've ever had...thank you man
Noticed in the intro, of course, SF trains with better tactics than straight leg and the rest of the army. I noticed guys hanging out in doorways pulling hall security. It never made sense to me to abandon coverage in the hall because once your last man leaves the hall or room, if it is not still occupied by friendlies, it is no longer "clear," and must be cleared again...waste of time clearing into a room, engaging, exploiting, then having to form up and clear into the hall you came from a couple minutes before...because it only takes seconds for an enemy to make that once clear hall, unclear. So are they now training to leave a man in the "fatal funnel" in some situations to keep the hall/point of entry clear? Glad to see that changing because re-clearing everywhere you were was always inefficient and kept you on site longer for any kind of counter. Just like assaulting an objective, in and out as quick as possible.
So , I’m think this critically, when dose switching shoulder apply with cqb in American construction? I can only see this apply for a scenario we’re your are behind 100% cover , anything that’s not that ,bullets will go straight threw dry wall ,plywood ,insulation. At the speed cqb unfolds switching to weak side is stacking the odds against you. It’s like a golfer 🏌️♀️ switching his primary hand to swing with his off hand. another analogy would be a quarterback, throwing a 30 years pass with his off hand . It’s not going to happen. Well I hope you all have a good one homies .
@@sleazykilla360amigo , bullets go threw ~darywall ~ particleboard~ CDX~ insulation. The solution is to shoot the other guy dead sooner than him . I understand he selling a experience. You can find performance shooting for free and in simpler terms.
I will study Ronins tactics. With what little time I have day to day. It will take a lifetime of practice and money investment to become average. If I get more time I will continue my training with classes to become exceptional. So when I am an old man I will have mastered the rifle and learn tactical skills. Also take up hunting as a pass time.
"Until it becomes 'no-mind', just a natural thing." I'm probably gonna remember that forever.
You probably already forgot.

Every video this man releases is absolute gold ! Thank you Tu!
Love it, never used a weapon for my job, but this training is still invaluable for a prepared citizen. Thanks Tu!

Until the guy filming said look at the order of operations, I didn’t notice that I’ve been doing this completely. This method feels great!

Yes, do this at home, the Pro is speaking, TNX a lot!!!!!
Awesome brother 🔥✌🏻
Genuine question, why wouldn’t you switch foot placement/stance?
I wanna know too since he likes to emphasize minimizing unnecessary movement or movements that waste energy.
You can all situation dependent
Isolation of movement. Of course you can switch feet but the lesson in this particular sequence was to isolate the shoulder switch mechanic. Better learning pattern for the brain before introducing more 'complex' movements

turn hips feet should be wide enough
Very efficient technique.

He has a video explaining using a sling. Pretty sure it’s called “how-Tu” combat carbine setup
Who is more of an American than Tu…a Vietnamese refugee who comes to America, and love, and fight for America…no fcking body, that’s who! ❤️
Ok not a soldier here but in a live gun fight that safety is it really used besides In homebase?
Always good knowledge.
Anyone know those shoes he’s wearing ?
Ronin did that shoulder switch throw smooth AsF lol
I get it ,, you have to be dominate left handed as you are right handed ..Basically right ? I just thought about that and shouldering a rifle in my left shoulder is so hard !!
Thank You sir for your information 👍🇺🇸
That middle hand thing seems like an extra step. Why would you not just move the rifle to the other shoulder then switch trigger hands?
We need more videos 🤠
loved that intro

Can a civilian join this course? Or is it only for law enforcement peoples?
Excellent video.
Great skills 👍
Awesome stuff
RONIN!!
Right left right right, left right left left
Is there a specific reason to move forward hand back instead of back hand forward to make the transition?
I've trained in and done both. It really comes down to personal preference and situation, but his way is one of the better ways to do it.
