    Damn Dana, that thing was dirt nasty. Maybe start pulling the valve cover at the yard before you pull the engines just to see.

    KRAZY HOW PEOPLE IGNORE THEIR OIL CHANGE "🔧" FOR SERVICE THE MOST IS 4,5OO MILES AND OLD OIL IS OUT AND THE NEW FILTER & OIL & CRUSH WASHER IS IN THAT'S AN EMBARRASSMENT GREAT JOB DANA ✌🏼OUT

    @Aradinx2 Год назад +7

    I've seen a lot worse that still ran well. When you finally get it in the car, run Rotella or another similar diesel oil with high detergent for the first few oil changes and it will look like new inside.

    I bought a motor from a wrecked tsx owned by an older gentleman that had been in a wreck. Everything looked great on the outside. I was quite surprised when I pulled the VC and my motor looked exactly like yours😂 I did a budget build putting in RRC pistons, deglazed the walls, resurfaced and washed the head, type s pump and reused the bearings lol. Car made 247hp and still a blast to drive!

    Would love to see you show it with the pump with balance shafts because most people complain about the vibration when usjng the k20 pump maybe pickup a cleaner one from the junkyard

    Remove the pistons and check the oil control rings . Oil consumption is a known problem

    i just pulled one from a junk yard a week ago and is in the exact same condition, I tried brake cleaner foam and spray didnt budge it. What worked magic for me was automotive thinner or lacquer thinner and a long Bristol paint brush. After about two gallons the head came out almost like new.

    I know its a bubget build, but I would remove the rod caps and inspect the bearings since you are allready there. Like I said I would !! I luv your videos man keep up the good work

    I see your able to drain the oil, here in pa the junk yard drills a hole in the pan to drain oil :/

    Same thing happened to me when I bought an older car off an old man. It only had 65,000 miles but he didn’t change the oil enough. It was all gunked up inside.
    I didn’t strip it like Dana did here, I spent 2 hours with a flathead screw driver and shop vac digging the dried up gunk out of the head. I took the pan off and cleaned all that and cleaned out the oil pick up but that’s about all I did, I did several oil changes with synthetic. It’s still going strong, just a little dirty inside.

    It’ll clean itself with hood oil cleaning sensors is all I would’ve done 2-3 oil changes would’ve been brand new maybe a little staining but get all that gunk out and an additional additive might just get it done in 1-2

    Change its best the option. The shaft that goes on the oil pump wears down and develops play.

    Dude, that engine was all ganked up! I would most definitely change the bearings and check those piston rings, they're probably fried, it would suck to put that all together just to take it right back apart again because you're smoking like a freight train.

    Man you should really replace the rings cause if that thing is that nasty the rings I would imagine are stuck to the piston like the oil rings and it will deff burn oil I would put money on it could just dingle ball hone it and slap some rings on it for the couple hundred bucks would be worth it

Then you got these normies that drive the piss out of there car with no oil changes and it lasts forever..
