Just spotted this video. I typically play out of this course. It's a difficult course as you mentioned a few times. There are practically zero flat lies on the course to be found. The greens do not have any areas that would fit USGA standards of flat area's near the hole. Most of these holes and greens are very old and are from a time when greens were much slower. In fact, this year is the courses 100th year. And the 17th, the reason the left side of the fairway is so bumpy, is that at one point, there was a log cabin hotel on that spot. Instead of removing all of the wood, they buried the logs under the soil when they built the course. The logs have slowly composted (making the soil underneath almost black), but the soil is also very soft and in a way, is rotting away. There is apparently pictures of that green and fairway being flat at one point.
Played it this weekend as a twilight round. Very pleasant surprise. I cant understand how this course does not get more accolades. Greens were firm, bunkers in very good condition and very few pitch marks to repair on greens from other players. I think it is better than and of the Toronto & Mississauga muni courses.
Thanks for the video. When you go to the range to practice try using a tee for your 3 wood and hybrid. Like you're teeing up on a par 3. I will sometimes use my 3 wood instead of my driver for an entire round. Building a little confidence really helps. With your swing I'm sure it will be an easy fix.
Sometimes when i play long rounds i just think to myself how fortunate i am to be on the golf course at that moment instead of work lol. The situation was prob different ur case since you had plans after.
It's a good track played it many times , it does play long than it looks. I know the Pro there, he is my cousins cousin and was Mike Weirs first teacher. It doesn't usually play that slow. Did you see many ground hogs they are everywhere on that course.
I didn't see any ground hogs haha! I will say, the golf course wasn't particularly slow. Our group was lagging behind a bit which is why there was an empty hole ahead. I really enjoyed the course!

Fun watch...a big thumbs up my friend.
Thanks!

It's amazing how many more options there are an hour + outside downtown Toronto (and better quality)

That's good advice! Thanks!

I totally agree :) When I don't have plans after, I don't mind as much since it's pretty normal for public courses to get backed up sometimes.

@@GolfwithShan my buddies use to play in a weekly league there, One of them lives around the corner from it, lol
Why so long? That is why I like early morning round and done in 4 hours
Playing the white tees, it can be difficult for me to reach par 4s over 400 yards. :) Early mornings are more calm!
