I recognise a few faces there. I started the day after you. You absolutely crushed it doing 20+ miles per day! My first week was 15, 13, 15, 20, 14, 15 and 15. Made it to mile 180 but got off trail due to injury. Planning on going back next year, this time with a sub 8 pound base weight plus a lot more training under my belt!
One of the Tramily is actually cowboy camping the desert portion of the PCT. Being from Palm Springs, I guess he has homefield advantage but still, that is awesome! What an amazing thing that you were able to connect with 2 others that are pushing such an incredible pace of 25 miles per day. I hope your RovyVon setup is working okay for your night hikes!
Hi Dan! Yeah, the cowboy camp is pretty cool. Yes- I totally agree about the people here. I’m just finishing the most epic 4-day trek in Jacinto with Just15, this awesome German guy. Really cool! Also, love the Ravyvon for night hiking, but it does pretty quick. Had to get a different headlamp for Jacinto- we had two alpine starts- one at 2am and the other at 1am. So I got a aaa lamp as well. Better for the mountaineering bits. Thanks for watching!
K- first, a Hawaiian shirt would be so cool. Not shaving- check! 3rd- I lithely just did that for you. From my tent. In California. After climbing Mount San Jacinto. The rock was granite. You’re welcome. 😁

Right on! Great work on your first leg! I’ll be back in trail in 2024 as well- hope to see you out there!

Who is this person? I swear I’ve seen him before, I just can’t put my finger on it
That’s your dad. He’s, like, super famous. 😁

Doing it, brother!

Man. I’m just such a loner, I’d be like “damn, more people coming” haha. I’d for sure be a lone wolf.
That’s what’s cool in the trail- you totally choose. Alone time is a big part of the experience for sure.
