Oh, I missed this video, almost at least... Happy I finally managed to watch it, very pleasant to see this car come together, and you added the testing as well... It's quite torque'y when you hold it with just one hand, as you found out, ha ha! I'm looking forward to next episode, see it fully assembled, and of course a run video, too! Have a nice weekend there!
Hi Mads! Ha ha, yeah, a bit more torque than I expected 😅😅 Final result up now. Building the actual car was easy compared to the body 🙃 Hope you are having a great Sunday in Finland
Gotta say i'm loving your video. I'm building a 3d model of a lunchbox from reference images and videos found online. I don't actually currently own a lunchbox. My mum threw my childhood one away (i suspect). Mums have a lot to answer for. Anyway I'm about 1000 hours in and your hi def video that shows every single angle of each part being assembled is really helping the process.
Goddag, Mikael! I bet you really enjoyed putting this one together, such a simple chassis, but just so Tamiya! Hehe, I see you had your first Lunchbox crash on the workbench! Plenty more to come when out on the dirt and grass, but this RC can take a beating and come back for more. Can't wait to see the body finished and your new truck in action. Take care, friend! 😁
Goddag, Mark! You are very right - such an enjoyable build. Reminds me so much of building a Hopper - just a really chubby one 😊 Ha ha, yes, it already started wheelin’ in my hands 😅😅 A good start I would say. Take care my friend and enjoy the Sunday.
Looking forward trying it out! Yeah, seen some people do it too. It’s a good tip. I messed up the paint job a little so I think I will just try to see how it goes the usual way 😊 It can’t get any worse
Hiya Mikael. Hooray your first lunchbox build! Love the mournful music to go with this rather comical truck! Obviously too much power as you couldn't keep hold of it! Anyway be good to see it completed. I'd go brushless but you know me! Have a great weekend matey 😁
Hejsa Pete! Yeah mournful music to a comical truck. My kind of combo 😅😀 Uhh, I think I will try it stock before I try anything else … it might already be too powerful for my driving skills. Couldn’t even hold it without crashing it 😂 Hope you are enjoying your Sunday Pete
I hope the build of this beauty was enjoyable Mikael. Fairly straight forward but those shocks were a bit weird and fiddly. Looking forward to bodywork video. All the best and hope you and the family are safe and well.
Yeah, the shocks where weird to assemble. Otherwise it was pretty much like building a Hopper. Bodywork video up now. All the best to you too my mate. I enjoyed the videos with your black edition
Awesome build again my friend!!! Watch out for that torque, those things will jump right out of your hands (Been there, Done that). I to will soon be joining the CW-01 chassis club (but not a lunchy), my first ever as well!!!! ATB to you & yours my friend, stay safe and stay healthy!!!
Hi Jeremy! Yes! Looking forward trying it out after years and years of watching it on RUclips 😅 And yes, quite remarkable ! I noticed a recent thumb mail from you too ! Looking forward watching the video later today
Hi Mal! Yeah, a real classic. Wonder what took me so long yo get one. The RC Elf provided the way. 😊 Ahh, yeah, but the Essence and Vibe still screams the 1980s 😊 But luckily also without the MSC 😅😅
@@NordicRC It was a surprise it took you so long to own one, I had one when they first came out. 12AA batteries to run the radio and car receiver. Then the BEC converter switch came out to convert my old Acoms receiver and down to 8AA a blessing. Radio's in those days went though AA fast.
Great build and you’ve inspired me to get one 👍 I’ve always wanted to do a lunchbox and I’ve found the black edition for £99.99 without the esc. I’ve a couple of Tamiya esc’s so I’m ok 🙂. I think the stock motor is enough power?? I’d go brushless but I think it may be too much for it?? Anyway great build great video and have a great weekend 🙏👍
Thank you my friend! Nice you got one too now. It’s a pleasant build. And sounds like a good deal you got. I will definitely try out the stock motor at first. Think it will be plenty of fun for me to start with 😊
@@NordicRC thanks Mikael and yes I’m going to start stock but like you the weather is not good over here in Wales. It’s winter so it’s cold 🥶, raining 🌧 all the time and finding myself not getting much run time so I thought I’d do a build and take my time. I’m just tending to go to my little HBX’s atm as I can take one out in a small shoe bag and when I find somewhere dry or the tide is out on the beach I can just let it rip. Have a nice weekend I’m staying in you take care 😎👍
I'm never able to balance the left and right steering with this kit regardless I change the length of steering rod many times. Right turn is stronger than left for me. Do you have the same issue? Thanks🙂 Oh and I found that the HBX 1/16 oil shocks is a good replacement for this kit👍
Hi bro! Not sure yet. Only tried once as here in the video. I think a stronger servo that is more able to self center could be good. Uhh. The HBX 1/16 shocks? I do have a set of those lying around. Maybe I should try it 😊
@Jessi I'm not sure, I'll take it apart and have a look. I've seen someone actually shift the servo to the side and it end up in the centre and have both steering rod same size. I might even try the Tamiya high torque servo saver, which may not be worth an upgrade as well as the front wheel is mostly up in the air 🤣 thanks
Lunch box is Dope
Hi Ronnie! I agree 😊
This elf, making quite the elf family, hes incredible
He really is remarkable and generous!
Welcome to the Lunchbox club. Prepare yourself for an enormous amount of fun 😁👍👍
Thank you, Derek! And thank you for tempting me with your own Black Edition 😊

Very cool project you got! And glad the video was helpful

Love my lunch box, I used soapy water when adding the stickers , gives you a second chance when you got big fingers 👊🏻👍🏻

@@NordicRC You are very welcome my friend. The "RC Elf" got us a CW-01 kit, should be here tomorrow. I'm not saying what one yet. LOL
Super like 🤩👍
Thank you my mate!
Great stuff. Love it.
Thank you! Love your name 😊 That’s what it is all about this hobby
Very nice build Mikael; big,big fan of the Lunchie! I really like the black wheels, quite sharp!👍😊
The RC Elf is truly remarkable!😀

Looks really neat! Bet you can’t wait to get it out running?? 🙌🏻
Thank you! You got that right 😊😀
Great simple chassis a real classic. But not quite a 1987 chassis as the later ones had better steering rods.

I'm going to be putting a sport tuned on one and torque tuned on the other.
Would love to see a comparison of those Brad!
Great idea

The RC elf sent me a normal lunch box and a black edition.
Uhh, nice, Brad!
