They will side up on your swim step with baits in the cracks. Just grab them.

    Two questions...
    1. I use 15lb braid with a 15lb leader. Is that good?
    2. What are the risks of running out of line?

      1. Yes
      2. Not sure

Depends on the size of the fish and the size of your spool. A 15lb albacore running 15lb test, you’re gonna want 200+ spare yardage + your casting distance minimum

Looks like it’s all catch and release. If you’re not keeping them wouldn’t it be better to use a single hook instead of ripping up their mouths with trebles?

I don’t know what you call them there but their Bonita on the west coast and we run away from them because they will bite every hook in the water and they taste like shit.
    You guys target them?

Please Help. We've got false albacore here in Montauk in one of the Lakes but we got six boats out here and everybody's fly fishing because they can't get them the conventional way you guys are doing it. It's an all-day thing too you've got PODS of false Albacore between 10 and 12 lb and they come to the surface and Chase the fish you know and then the birds dive on it and you cast into that and there's just no way crippled Herring is not working Diamond jigs with a white or green tails are not working a large deadly dick or something like it is also not working maybe it's my technique I have no idea Brothers

Sounds like some finicky fish! A great technique when albies are finicky is the "Pop n' Fly" technique. It allows anglers using spinning gear to present a small fly with ease. Refer to our latest video where Capt. Mike shows how effective this technique can be. Thanks!
