Another great video Elias!!! The sound of your drag just buzzing away!!! Ahhhhh.... A sound all fisherman love! Lol, I’m playing hookie this Wednesday and going fishing out of Belmar NJ (weather is suppose to be really nice). I went out Saturday, a lot of nice sized Porgies caught (but Ive had my full of them tbh). A lot of Tautog/Blackfish caught too on crabs. *I just can’t wait until this Sunday, Sea Bass season opens up again in NJ!!!! Tight lines as always bro & God Bless!
Smitty101 That's a nice boat brother, but I'm actually going off the Golden Eagle tomorrow morning. They been catching some monster blues, 20 plus pounds. Their great people on the boat, give them a try sometime. Tight lines!!!
Hands down my favorite fish and type of fishing. Quick story. Once in New Jersey, I was casting into a school of albies and diving gannets from my Kaskasi . I get a hit and I see a gannet get torn down through the surface. So what happened was I hooked up and tangled a gannet simultaneously. Fortunately, the gannet popped up 10 seconds later. I think I ended up losing the albie.
How about installing a 12" post near the bow. You would use it to point the bow towards the fish. Just put the rod on the right side of the post to move the bow to port when the line is tight.
hey EliasVFishing , great video. Albies look like they're a blast to catch. I'm going to be in Brooklyn this weekend with my kayak and I wanted to know a place you would recommend I go fishing and what technique to use?
Great episode Elias. As always. - quick question for you. Looks like you are already dry suited from the waist down. When do you go full dry attire. I just ordered nrs sidewinder bibs hoping they will get me a few more weeks in the fall and spring. Not looking to kayak fish below 60deg. Thanks
Hey Elias why do you say this boat sucks for vertical jigging? I'm guessing it drifts too fast? Wondering why because I'm looking into kayaks for next season
Love the sound of that drag. Would love to catch one of them. What do you do, go out there and the fish are there? I'm sure you must get skunked sometimes. Is there a service you are tied into that lets you know to get out there and fish in a certain area lol
Yeah I did 5 trips for them. Two good two trips of 1-2 fish and one total skunk. I've accumulated 3-4 areas over the years I bump into them with some consistency that I don't have to fish in the heat of the fleets. But like you said, fair share of skunkings. Just the usual areas The Fisherman magazine wrote about 10-20 years back.
Both. It's always a grind and I don't want to post anything from there that's good because I can't go back since it's instantly cleaned out (sheepshead, weakfish, etc.)
well now i know why you deleted some videos! makes sense and i understand. Well next week will be my first time out on the yak and I'm gonna be in jamaica bay and staten island all week. hope to run into you! won't bum rush your spots if i see you lol
I noticed you cut the videos short on the fight. I use 12pound test and have almost get spooled. I switch back to 20pd. Not as many bites but enough. My #1 lures are albie snacks, 4" Ron z' s, and any 5" plastic fluke baits. I use hogy and deadly dicks too but I catch 2 on plastics before I get one on hard baits.
Are these related more to bonita, or tuna? They are awesome looking fish and I would love to have a day to catch some. And are they commonly eaten or released?
Had a question for you. I have seen Sea-Money use squid for bait and it seems like he likes using it. Do you like using squid because I haven’t seen you use it (unless I missed it).
Those albies are absolute tanks. I had one on one time but it ran so hard straight at my boat and I lost it. On another note, I want to try the old tube and worm this fall for stripers. My tube is all beat up, and I don't remember what brand it was. Do you know of a good brand I can buy from Amazon?
Do you direct tie to your epoxys? If so, what knot do you use? I have not had NEARLY the luck that you have had with Albies this year. They seen to be very shy where I am, most anglers are reporting one fish per outing.....I am in an area where there are quick, random pods, a lot of fishing pressure, and no one hooking up. I have been doing my best to match the hatch, but minimal success.
+Jeff Brinkman always direct 15lb test (that's why the runs are so explosive) I don't fish for them in the chaos zones anymore. These pods were tiny (1 to 2 busts maximum). I'm only using epoxy jigs, cabelas real image jigging spoons, and my shads at this point.
Didn't keep one for cooking? Just bleed them, keep them cool and clean as any tunnid family fish, remove the dark red meat from the sirloin and enjoy!! Nice video, gave you the diserved LIKE!! Regards. Fred.
The Dream Catcher- If your serious your out of your mind. Come to FLA and hook up to a 25 pound Bonita AKA false Albacore. Fun to catch but awful to eat,
He's not wrong, nor are you. Almost a universal thought, a bluegill is pound for pound one of the strongest fish. However, they don't fight nearly as hard as a redfish, striper, bonito, dolphin, blue, or many many more. But if a bluegill weighed 15lbs, there isn't many 15 pound anything that would fight harder.
Ray Romano goes false albie fishing.
EliasVFishing great video as always!
EliasVFishing I knew your voice sounded familiar xD
I just, 2 hours ago named my first Son, after you!!!! Love what you do and your very humble. Would love to meet you some day. 727-565-3773.
Is that Chris with u in the yellow kayak?
Wow congrats on your son!!
This channel is worth way more than 26k subs. Amazing, regularly posted content. Keep it up man, hope I run into you in NJ sometime soon!
They look like great fun to catch 🐟🐟🐟nice vid !
without albies the northeast would of sucked the past few weeks.. lightning fast tunnies are welcome to stay as long as they want
+Sea-Money Fishing only fish worth filming. Everything else is far too much drama
I find myself smiling constantly while watching your movies. Well done and keep 'em coming!
that realing sound made me pause the video and check the tides, good shit bro!!
We are still in late summer pattern I'm still catching fluke , sea bass . The bulk of the stripers are still to the east near shinnecock inlet.

Do you have a place to keep your kayaks at your house/apartment or do you store them somewhere and pick them up each time you fish?
Love to hear that drag scream!!!😆
I sooo need to hook into one of these on a fly rod. Looks like a blast!
The hint to the life quality of baitfish is in the name.

That was a nice morning really hot ..had to hit quick and hard .. nice work😎🎣🤙🏼
I grew up on the north shore of long island, stony brook area. What part of the sound are you fishing? Thanks...
My favorite fish to catch.
Dude! Addicted to the sound of that screaming drag! Could destiny have chosen a worse time for me to break my foot 😂
were are you fishing looks like long island sound richard in the tropics
The Albi is a gorgeous fish, imo.

Do you preset your drag?

Great video God bless
can u share where this is that you are fishing? I am assuming somewhere in the LI sound?
Hey Elias why do you say this boat sucks for vertical jigging? I'm guessing it drifts too fast? Wondering why because I'm looking into kayaks for next season
where in general did you fish looks like my area ma.?

Great catches! Always enjoy watching your videos! Still excited to see if you’re going to do any Jamaica Bay fishing
+khaled elshenawy I have a hard time making videos there lately
Is it because the fishing is bad or because the amount of people that leech off of your spots
Both. It's always a grind and I don't want to post anything from there that's good because I can't go back since it's instantly cleaned out (sheepshead, weakfish, etc.)

Mackerel I believe, although they certainly look like a tuna.
These are just like giant Atlantic Mackerel , look crazy fun.
Just heard about your channel from Steve's Key West Kayak Fishing channel. Nice channel....subbed.
That Kastking Orca handles those Albie’s no problem.
is that a reality kings reel?
Had a question for you. I have seen Sea-Money use squid for bait and it seems like he likes using it. Do you like using squid because I haven’t seen you use it (unless I missed it).
Cam Rojas I feel like he doesn't really fish live bait unless it's crab . Seems more economically to use the jigs and shads

+xIEm1n3m I sell east coast trolling tubes on my Amazon store. It's what I used in the spring vids
EliasVFishing found it, thanks
you own both a revolution and an outback?

Thanks...knot choice? Polymar? Rapala?
+Jeff Brinkman uni
Seabass were thick around the bridges but didn't see the Albies
Do Albies migrate this time of year from S to N or from deep water to more shallow?
They sure are fast!
+fshng2fish their migrations are a total mystery to me. All about for bait for them.
EliasVFishing Thanks just trying to predict when they will be around.
Do they taste bad cuz they actually look pretty good
Bonito flakes, Japanese dry aged fermented fish. It's shaved and put on dam near everything.
Are those fish on Long Island
Hey elias..im from central NJ and i wanna know if u could recomend me a place where i catch some albies plesse??
Sandy hook might be a good start!
Bay or ocean?
Or Barnegat Inlet
You are Z best !!!
Man! The bonefish of the northeast!!
Dope vid
Are you fishing inshore or ocean?
Do you like your Kastking?
He is sponsored by them, but trust me, they are garbage
Try getting em from the rocks on the fly rod, that's definitely a challenge!
+Colin Cournoyer out of my league for sure
Careful out there guys....lots of shark.
Is that a tuna
Sea money money would love all this action
Next time you gotta say "whaaaaaats uppp youuutuuube!!!!" Lmao
+Long Le lol
So addictive...wish they were better eating
Didn't keep one for cooking?

Oh, sorry...
Why not a different recipe? LOL....
Bluegills fight harder
