I used this today to do the brake pads on my 2007…in the drizzle. This was an awesome video and made the job “easy.” It was the first time for me to do this, this was a great guide for me. Salute!
Very good video. I did my rear passenger side a couple of months ago and used your video. The only hard part was getting the two screws off of the rotor, as I didn't have that punch type tool that you had. I ended up using my impact drill for those two screws and that helped me. Great videos, thanks for sharing!
Got the rotors and pads today! Torque on the knuckle and pins for a 2012 Odyssey? Thanks, bro! Keeping this video handy in case I miss a step. Update** I called Honda and they said 37 to 40 LBS on the knuckle and 25 on guide pin bolts. WTF!!!
Some brake pads can react to the brake cleaner. It can cause swelling and can prematurely wear out the pads. No need to clean the pads, you need to clean the rotor.
Just noticed this... Is it better to lube the guide pinsent once the caliper bracket is on or off? My thought was that since it's already off and we have to clean the surface again to make way for the new hardware, we could do the pins at that time as well? Essentially doing everything to the caliper first before putting back on and securing either thread locker. Just curious if there are other ways or this the better/safer way
Great job, man! The only thing I would do differently from you, is that I would clean all the brake parts, rubbers, suspension, etc. Just because it would look nice. But that's me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Soon enough I'll have to do the same on my Civic. By the way, why didn't you put the brake cleaner before installing the rotor?
I keep everything clean on my personal cars. I saved brake clean as the last step because you might get dirt/grease on the rotor when you're reinstalling the brake caliper back on, so that's the last thing I do before putting the wheel back on. Nothing wrong spraying the rotor before installing it.
Another beautiful and easy to follow tutorial. Great job, bro!! Every time I see a new tool I know you have it listed below. Amazing. Since I am here to do a brake job soon and take some notes, what PAD + ROTORS do you recommend for a 2012 Honda Odyssey?? Thanks, bro! Another 'liked' video!
@@MrRangerZr1 I was asking about the driver size, cause on the link provided it indicates 2 different sizes available and I want to obtain the same size as the tool you used. Please and thank you.

Thanks for the video. I really like that there is no loud music in the background like some videos have. This was perfect!
This was one of the best videos without all the chatter. Thank you very much.

The best brake tutorial on RUclips!!!

Simple without all of the bull dust and carry on!
Nice work sir
👍🇦🇺
Straight to the point and quiet video. The best video out there... ❤
2021 and this video is still helping a ton of people. Thank you so much!
Great video! My brakes were so corroded to the point where it made the job take way longer than it should of.
Great video no self-promotion or "hey look at me" monkey business no extra BS just the straight how to.
Straight to the point - excellent - thank you!

Update**
I called Honda and they said
37 to 40 LBS on the knuckle and
25 on guide pin bolts. WTF!!!
Brake caliper bracket bolts: 101 lbf.ft
Brake caliper bolts: 37 lbf.ft
Brake hose bolt: 15 lbf.ft
concise, clear, best I've seen!
Possibly the best video!
I have never had bolts come out that easy especially the rotor screws
The impact screw driver is the trick
@@MrRangerZr1 If you remove the bolts and damage them, is it necessary to put them back?
Thank you for this. You make it so simple. Tutorial was in point.
Excellent video. Thank you.
Nice video. You stated that "Do not spray brake pads with brake cleaner", wondering why not? I always spray brake cleaner on my pads. Thank you.

Doesn't matter. I do it with it on the car so it's easier to take the guide pin in and out, sometimes it can get stuck in there.
@@MrRangerZr1 exactly what I was thinking after I wrote my comment. Thank you very much!!
Are those inner pads side specific? The one you took out had the squealer/indicator towards the bottom and the new one you installed had it on top?
They were installed incorrectly before, the way I installed is the correct way.
Hi, Thanks for the video. What are the front brake caliper specs. on a Honda CR-V 2012. Thanks.
Should be the same or close specs
@@MrRangerZr1 Thanks
Great video. Do you know what is the torque specs for honda crv exl 2013 AWD? Thanks for you help..
Not much different from this generation
Do you only use Silicone Grease on the Guide Pins? Also, for the Rear Brakes do you need 17MM or 18MM Wrench?
Yes only silicone paste

@@ricardoramos1242 Anytime!
Muy bien paso por paso...sobre todo muy bien explicado gracias
Really helpful, many thanks. Did you have to do anything with regards to the brake fluid??
No just make sure it doesn’t overflow when you compress the piston
Which paste/lube is being used @ 5:47 and 7:40
Antiseize compound. Link in description.
Is it possible to use an adjustable wrench vs the individual(s)?
No those have a tendency to slip
Do you have a video for the Rear Brakes?
On the list
🤟 Great vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a newbie. How important is the anti seize
It prevent things from seizing up and makes future disassembly much easier.
