It’s almost insane to think how much content is packed into this game, the graphical fidelity it’s pushing, stuffed with 100hrs worth of gameplay is insane to me…no wonder it’s two disks Edit: to add to that, the reason I believed why remake was so short and lacking in content, it was because they were limited by development on visuals and how much they took an emphasis on it. So for this game to have content, along with graphics pushing the console to its limits is so mind blowing to me, usually it’s one or the other
To make the timeline stuff as simple as possible: 1) Main one we play as with Cloud and Party on the search for Sephiroth (Beagle stamp dog) 2) Zack one which looks immediately apocalyptic (Terrier stamp dog) 1+2 will probably merge at the end of Rebirth into something new for Part 3. So my guess is in Part 3 we'll be dealing with only one Rebirthed TL. 3) Just the OG game which acts as more of a reference so we understand why the other two are different. What was once the destined timeline. I have no idea how they're going to handle the Forgotten City, I think you brought up some good points. I'm 50/50 on her living or dying here but I hope she dies because I personally feel that important to the story and if she lives but the kill her in part 3 then that would feel kinda contrived to me, but it depends on how they do it. We know there is a "big surprise" for this scene, my guess it's because it will involve Zack in some way because let's be real he's on the front cover of the box art. I think it's possible that we won't have Cloud at the start of Part 3. I hope Genesis has a minor role for Zack and that's it lol.
Yeah I think the Original timeline is, as you said, a reference or memory but won't be part of the "merge". I originally thought we might have crossed into Zacks(Terrier) with Cloud and co. and Zack walked into our timeline (Beagle) because of the "Crossroads of fate" title. Seems dead wrong since Cloud and co. see their wanted posters in trailers. Why would you need a wanted poster when the target is dead and in your custody, which they seem to be in Zacks timeline from trailers. I feel the same about the Big Scene. As long as whatever happens is written well I will be happy. Can’t blame you for hating Genesis but I do feel he has potential if updated correctly. Yeah I'm on team sad ending. My current theory is Sephiroth needs to imprison but NOT kill Aerith. He needs to take Cloud out of the picture too. The plan there is to introduce him to Zack, which will speed up Clouds mental break. He will then kill the 1 person who can bring Cloud out of that; Tifa. END OF GAME, fans destroyed. Then in part 3, Zack and party will free Aerith from imprisonment. Aerith will bring Tifa back from lifestream, Tifa will help Cloud recover from mental break. Then the full party will have their final showdown with Seph and possibly Genesis too.
I don't see them redeeming him. Making him more sympathetic sure, and I'm down for that. But I don't think he was ever actually 'good' before he went crazy.
Nah dude. OG ff7 has mind bending memory and lifestream stuff. Theyre expanding and adding but this is not completely outside the realm of possibility with the original lore. Plus, the characters are very well realized which will ground the entire thing.
I don't think Aerith will die this time, because it will be expected. I also see a possibility for a Sephiroth Redemption Arc despite is unpopularity. If you have played Star Ocean 2 and know the character Dias who is a swordsman like Sephiroth, the major difference is that one is good and one is bad. Dias kind of embodies what Sephiroth would have been had he coped with his revelation and decided to go down the path of a hero and perhaps find his real mother and free her from her bondage and destroy Jenova. However I think it will happen near the end. Genesis will definitely come back as a matured hero as now he has been chosen by Minerva and it's possible Angeal may end up being brought back by Minerva to guide Zack. After Genesis' dream was brought to realization by Zack, he has become fulfilled in a sense and has evolved. Sleepezi really describes him greatly. It could be Angeal and Genesis who bring Sephiroth to his senses before the end and they in one last "ride" or mission together as friends once more-- decide it's time to put an end to the cosmic horror and redeem themselves even if it means sacrificing themselves. The exciting part of that could very well be a playable Sephiroth, Genesis, and Angeal.-- possibly the strongest trio in the game to go up against the galactic horrors of Jenova. Regardless whether this happens or not fans will still play the game and get over such concerns despite there will be whining. I personally am neutral on this issue. The multiple timelines if done right can be spectacular but it is a fine line as you say, but many purists will be very angry and frustrated, but they will still play the game in the end. It's Nomura's story and he can shape it however he likes and we'll see how it's executed. I'm not concerned in the least about that issue; but what I am concerned about is not tying up all the loose ends from the rest of the compilation-- Before Crisis in particular. The only links from Before Crisis are Cissnei who is also known as Shuriken, and the whole idea of the main branch of Avalanche. I hope we see the other player Turks, Velde, Elfe, and get some reference to Shears and Fuhito and of course Zirconaid. First Soldier part of the compilation will probably also seep in. The biggest revelation from that I believe will be that Glenn is Cloud's father. Many say they think his father should remain unknown, but screw that. They are giving us all these plot fillers so why not? This would be another obstacle for Cloud to overcome should he find and meet his father. We could see a younger father less Cloud psyche kick in and then it will be will Cloud forgive his father for abandoning himself and his mother? The exchange between them would be extremely tense making Tifa all the more important. Also the world building with the Rhadorans also expands the lore greatly. As we have 5 chapters so far with the 6th chapter as of today dropping at any time. Also don't forget the Dirge of Cerebus multiplayer game. I have written at least 4 fanfics that are in the Remake time continuum and are basically added plots which I think would have been great additions.

Getting the old band from Crisis Core could be pretty neat. My final thought is them having to use Knights of the round and needing 13 “Special” individuals aka our party members to activate it and seal/defeat Jenova away so we need more butts for seats. Everyone thinks their fanfics are great additions lol… but it is also fun to theory craft and wonder. Either way hope the came is cohesive and doesn’t break the spirit of the original and loose threads means $pin-off$
@@TheEggplantKnight It's true fanfic writers do think their literature is great and I definitely have some pride in my work, but I don't think my stories are great literature by any true sense of the word; but I can say that some of my fanfics are better than some other works I've done that I'm not so happy with. Some turned out rather dull in my opinion and some I think blossomed fairly well... but in the end, it is not what the author thinks, but the reader's opinion. I'm reading Charles Dickens right now which of course no fanfic could hold a candle to. Knights of the Round will definitely be in Part 3 and will probably have its own chapter. I really thought this trilogy would have been a Quad due to the length of the compilation and amount of characters. I see this game as a sequel rather than an actual remake. I think they should take the sprites from Ever Crisis and actually redo the original, I think that would be a huge win. It would be a throw back to the past where folks would say on the playground, 'Hey if you do all these things in a certain way ..She'll be in your party again." Of course they were false rumors but I'd appreciate the nod. I'm hoping this time around Zack in his timeline will have a drive to still see Aerith and as memento choose to take off her ribbon, then he'll discover her White Materia and when the timelines merge together the good guys will have the upper-hand.
