Serging the edges is such a great trick! It makes everything so much easier to deal with.

So much easier! And I like to think it’ll help 50+ years from now when the fabric starts to fray and the quilt is so loved that the binding will need to be redone

I love the glue idea. I have always had problems using the sewing machine to stitch down the back binding from the front. It would come out messy, with many areas of the binding missed and not stitched. What a pain to rip out some of the stitches and fix it. So I would end up hand sewing the back binding to the quilt. Your idea is so much easier! Thank you.

    Happy National Quilting Day! 🤗
Thanks for the binding tips and I’m going to try gluing the binding strips, then ironing it as well! This is the part I struggle with…I use my machine usually with a decorative stitch! The hardest part for me is joining the two ends🫤
    Happy Anniversary💝

I have never basted the binding before, and I like then way you roll up the binding and set it up. Thank you.

Are you sewing the binding on from the front but you are really securing it to the back? I use glue, iron it down and love it.

Yes! I like to stitch from the front so I can see what it looks like there, and the glue ensures it’ll catch the binding on the back
