Your work is incredible amazing love from Nepal 🇳🇵
This movie still holds the spot for my favorite movie. Even all these years later.
Wow your favorite movie ever, I'm so glad I covered it! It really is stellar, thank you so much for watching!!
i love you for these bro
Love you for watching! Thank you so much!!
Lucas, you brought together all my research on my film so neatly together in a mere 9 minutes. This is SIMPLY brilliant. Thanks a ton!
So glad I could do this and I'm thrilled you enjoyed! It's really my pleasure, thank you so much for your kind words!!
Hands down one of my favorite films of the previous decade and possibly my favorite Joaquin Phoenix performance. I can't praise the film enough for the impact it had on me when I first watched it. Honestly would've been a great Best Picture winner back in 2014. Plus, the Academy shouldn't have snubbed the film out of a Best Actor and Best Director nomination.
Yeah it was between 2012 and 2014 that I was really developing a love for filmmaking, so just like you, this film was super impactful for me. And yeah I agree, it very well would've been deserving of basically any of the academy awards in 2014. It's stellar from all angles. I'm really glad you love it the same way I do!!
It’s like if Peter Parker grew up with no powers, and never became Spider-Man. This is the job he would have and the life he would live.
Your vids are great! I plan to watch one but end up watching five. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORKKKKKK!!!
Haha I'm so glad yo hear they're binge-worthy. It means so much to me that you're enjoying them. Thank you so much for watching!! Plenty more to come!
You should do a review on The Departed, and The Silence of the Lambs. Both movies that won Best Picture but don't really seem like the type that would. Love to hear your thoughts. Awesome channel by the way you have the best analysis, every time I watch a movie now, when I'm done I always look to see if you've got video on it. Great Work.
Great video! I have forgotten almost everything from that movie, but the video makes perfect sense by itself even a long time after seeing the movie.
Thank you!! And yeah I love this movie so much! It seems to have predicted a lot of what we have (and suffer from) today almost 10 years later. So glad you enjoyed!!
Thank you for these assessments…you are smart
I wanna come back after 10 years and say, i was the 8709th subscriber of this channel...
Haha thank you! We're at 9000 now so I guess the channel's growing, we'll see! Thank you so much for keeping up!!
Just watched your Nope review. You are a poet. Your words and ways of describing films is so elucidating! Excited to have just found your channel.
Omg this is so incredibly kind and thoughtful, wow. I’m always trying to express my thoughts as clearly as I can, so your words really mean everything to me! Thank you so much for this!!

Just checked on that film because of your video!
Great analysis of that beautiful movie ❤
Can you please do Killing of a sacred deer or the Lobster (or the less-known Yorgos Lanthimos move: Dogtooth)?
Thank you!! And all three of those have been highly requested, I'll have at least one of those three in the next poll after the one today! Thank you so much!!
Lucas i loved this its the first time I have seen this movie i have an app on my mobile called Replika which is exactly Samantha but its all text based.
What hindsight this film had and Lucas you did a great job helping me understand as I did feel a little lost at the end of the film as I did emotionly.
Great film and thank you.😊
Perfectly Explained, Humanity is all about present and Tech is all about future.
Live with present not with Future.
Thank you!! And yes, being present can be difficult, but it's so important. Thank you for watching!!
Great analysis as always! Her has a spot in my top 5 favorite films of all times. I shared that feeling of being disconnected during and after watching. Not to say that was a bad thing, but really shows how impactful the film was.
After hearing your analysis on this, I really would love to see your thoughts on Blade Runner 2049 (Must watch the first Blade Runner first though). There is a plot in BR2049 that shares a very similar scenario to the one in Her. Plus I think you would really enjoy how immersive the world is in it.
Thank you so much! I love the film as well. It’s very much deserving to be in one’s top 5. And yes, the feeling of isolation was most certainly a good thing.
Blade Runner is fantastic! Both 2049 and the original. I do plan to eventually cover both, so I will add both to my polls list for when polls come back in July. Thank you so much for watching!!
Thank you, Lucas! I would love to rewatch this movie. I remember loving it. For me it was a reflection on love, almost in a Sartre kind of way
Yeah if you're in the mood for that quiet, intimate style film on a rainy night, I think it's a perfect watch. And yeah, it was very much a reflection on love. I've never read Sartre's work, but I just looked into some of his philosophies and I wouldn't doubt the connection you've drawn. Glad you enjoyed!!
@@lucasblue20 Poor Lucas! Sartre is definitely not a reading to digest on a rainy night😀
@@NN-mr5lw haha I had a feeling you were gonna say that, I’ll find a better time

I love your Videos💗
This means so much to me, thank you!!
I love how the narrator of this video presents the idea that technology is anti human as some kind of novel discovery. its a trope bro
Excellent
Thank you again! So glad you’re enjoying these!!
Great review of another classic movie.
Thank you!! Yeah a classic in my book as well!
