I think some people don’t understand what he meant by saying “Don’t talk about it”. He is simply saying don’t look for race or racism everywhere. For instance you have news titles like “Black man kills white man” or “White man kills black man” and so on, just driving the race war and making people think that the killing was racially motivated. I.e. putting the focus on the race while disregarding every thing else. So, instead of identifying people by their race, or assuming their motivations based solely on their race, we should judge them for the individual they are.
Nah. Stop talking about it means the media needs to stop perpetuating this racial divide. Not really don’t look for racism. Racism is looked down upon almost everywhere and as technology and communication expand more and more places are brought into the scrutiny of the public conglomerate. Hatred only exists in places where it is allowed to survive or where it is kept alive by those wishing to exploit falsified oppression or those manipulated into doing so unknowingly.

That's actually how it is. We all are the human race no matter what our skin color is.

Ohhh... i used to hate this clip, but thats actually pretty good
@@moralkombat66 What? Why would you hate this clip?
Thats exactly what MLK said. He would be so disappointed on how the media treats minorities like trophies
Nah. Stop talking about it means the media needs to stop perpetuating this racial divide. Not really don’t look for racism. Racism is looked down upon almost everywhere and as technology and communication expand more and more places are brought into the scrutiny of the public conglomerate. Hatred only exists in places where it is allowed to survive or where it is kept alive by those wishing to exploit falsified oppression or those manipulated into doing so unknowingly.

morgan freeman is making a known point, race is a social construct.
Depends on how you define race
@@iwonakaplon3399 how do you define it?
@@bekinddrinkwater a group of people with a common ethnic background. I guess an example would be the Celtic peoples of Europe. The Celts used to be the majority population in the British Isles, France and Iberia. Obviously the different peoples were not identical, and had ethnic and vast cultural differences, but were biologically more related to each other than they were with a German or Slav. Essentially a group of ethnicities with a common heritage, if that makes any sense.
@@iwonakaplon3399 yes it does, thank you for the detailed reply! that definition of race is a more scientific way of defining it and that has its own purpose. ultimately though, the way most people see race, and the definition morgan freeman is referring to, and most likely OP as well, is simply as the color of one's skin. the notion of defining a person by their skin color is indeed a social construct, and because some people continue to see others as people of a certain race before they see them as human, racism is still an issue.

By stop talking about it he also means stop saying somebody can't get this because they're black or can't go that far because they are black. Stop saying somebody sounds black or acts black and also stop saying that well because this neighborhood looks like so-and-so blacks must live here or anything similar to that as well. Stop saying only blacks do this and you will not find blacks like that and blah blah blah. That's what stop talking about it means you stop referencing anything and everything as black or white or Jewish or whatever. Stopped talking about it means in every single instance. Because a neighborhood has a certain characteristic don't assume it's a black neighborhood it's just a neighborhood of people, and so on.
