You brought me in with your nicely produced videos, but I'm liking the vlog style, too. Hope the algorithm rewards your efforts. That table looks nicer than most the furniture in my home. Love that your scrap bin produces such beautiful pieces for you to use.
I went through all of this, but all by hand. Every morning (retired) I sit on the toilet daydreaming and overthinking everything, so out to garage I go with elaborate plans in head. In the end I just ended up just cutting the lids off the bit containers then throwing them in the drawers, and it worked out perfect. You do really nice work. It turned out great just like my daydream :-) Like I mentioned in the last video that chip catcher base is such a clever idea. I bet that I start seeing that design from other RUclipsr woodworkers very soon.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who yells at inanimate objects when they don’t behave the way I want them to, or Arnold grunts when lifting or moving heavy objects! I can also relate to not knowing things, just doing things lol The drill press cabinet is way prettier than it should be, and it’s awesome haha! Well done Mark!
I hear ya. The hand-held stuff is much harder to watch, but it also helps to show details and close-ups when I'm talking about this or that. What I really need is another person in the shop to hold a camera for me... possibly on a gimbal to smooth it all out.
@@GunflintDesignsI understand. I'm one of those that gets nauseous when it moves too fast (I also watch at 1.5x speed which makes it more dramatic) I'm a customer of yours and a huge fan of the channel and pod so I know you have been making changes. Keep up the good work and thanks for listening to my feedback.
Coming together nicely! I would've sacrificed (or accounted for) an 1/8" pieces of Masonite/hardboard for the bottom of your thin drawer and then glue my dividers to that. This way you could 'start over' easier if you found you didn't like the arrangement. Same approach to the other drawers. If they had their own structural bottoms and the CnC'd 'holder' simply sat on top, you could easily remove and re-make the holder as your needs/collection changed.
Great project Mark. One thing I might have done differently is not glue two layers of the middle drawer together, instead screw them together. That way if down the road I needed to redesign a new hole layout I could just replace the top MDF layer instead of the entire drawer.
13:45 Compression bits are for layered materials like plywood and other composite materials. Avoid them in other materials. Compression bits are ground so that the cutting action presses lower layers upward and the upper layers gets pressed downward. This avoids tearing/splintering the edges.
Those drawer faces are really amazing. Kind of like if a marble and camo had a baby. As for being .05 off on CNC, it shouldn’t have to do with going between a raster or any type. Didn’t you change the bit or choose between on the line and outside the line cut? Weird. Tool tray looks great, but a game changer, especially for horizontal laying tools or working with foam, the Sharpr Trace is amazing! Just draw an outline, snap a pic and the image will turn into vectors for you CNC. Definitely look into it.
Curious how tall you made the cabinet? My drill press is similar to yours and that cabinet height looks perfect. I watched both build vids and don't recall any measurements. I love the look of the maple drawer fronts. Great build!
Haha, what motor are you referring to? The CNC spindle is from here: bit.ly/44qSaFs I talked a bit about the drill press motor in the last video: ruclips.net/video/evF2imLphpk/видео.html
I enjoy your videos but when handheld they become distracting and hard to watch...the parts where the camera is steady are much better - for example when you attached the drawer fronts. Keep up the good work.

Worth the wait. This made me smile so much
Thanks, I'm glad!

Thank you very much, I appreciate it! Simple is usually best, so your solution might be the winner.
Came out great. That is some awesome organization.
Thank you!

Thanks man!!
Fantastic work, Mark! Really well done!!! 😃
It turned out looking amazing!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too!
That build turned out awesome. Great job! For what it's worth, my favorite parts of your videos are when the camera is on a tripod.

The only thing I changed was switching the fill method from Raster back to Offset and that made all the difference.
Of course you used walnut for your scrap piece. Ha ha. The fronts of those drawers has some ridiculous figure…I love it!
Are there other kinds of scraps?

The legs are 24" tall, and the 1" top makes the platform height 25". The flair box makes the overall height about 29".
Thanks for sharing!
What kind of sorcery is that motor?

Great video, really good design. But...
But BG muzack really not a helping...
Were you trying to say Whetstone, rather than Wet Stone. I think either would have been acceptable if you say it real fast. Ok.
