You should consider doing a collaboration with Foureyes Furniture Channel, you two could make something really awesome together. Not that you both aren't awesome on your own..
Man, I got to say, you should definitely do more high end furniture builds. I've always loved watching your videos since they are so informative and your narration is amazing. This style of video really show us just how creative you are and makes us imagine what you can come up with next. Thanks for another awesome video Scott!
This is the most beautiful build ive seen on RUclips in a while. Everyone becomes repetitive in their builds which is understandable because it's a business for most of yall but every once in a while it's nice to see self purpose builds because creative restrictions get lifted.
Learned the hard way after making my office desk, that my 120 hour project with its super cool design didn't actually work with my ergonomic needs... i bought a sit stand desk... now my sexy desk sits awkwardly at my inlaws house as an anniversary gift. I wish you a longer relationship with your design, awesome work.
Yes, very entertaining. Though if you get tired of using scotch tape - their are large paper rolls (almost translucent silk paper) - used by architects or textile designers. Can save a lot of headaches 🤗
This is my first time here, and that desk deserves the "high end furniture" slapped on to it so much. When I look at the finished product all I can think of is you have awesome design skills, this is what you born for.
Love this! More content like this would be amazing. Love the inclusion of the honest mistakes and how you moved forward positively. Can’t get enough of this way of thinking, so much more helpful for everyone and thinks they need perfection every time
Really beautiful desk! And, a great video to boot! I turned this on with the intention of working while it played in the background. Started the video and couldn't look away for the whole 40 minutes. Excellent work Scott, keep it up man!
This is literally THE most beautiful desk I have seen. It is both visually interesting and not obnoxious and gaudy like much of the custom pieces on RUclips tend to get when they explore shapes. Also, boy am I glad you built it and not me because that is a LOT of curves and curves are the devil lol. This is really the best piece you have ever made and I think it shows you are more than qualified to do high-end furniture work in your content for sure.
I usually consider myself to be a good worker then I watch these videos on RUclips. It seems like everyone is better than me and it now definitely includes this gentleman. This desk is absolutely gorgeous, you should be extremely proud of your build, just beautiful. Very well done. Cheers from Toronto 😎
Love the detail. As a rough carpenter aspiring to be a fine woodworker someday, this is exactly the kind of content I'm looking for. Also, as a youtuber with multiple channels in a completely different genre, I appreciate the days you spent on the edit. Very nice work.
Completely over the top! The desk is a work of art for sure and the video followed the build very well. Yes, I love the detail that you included both in the project and the video! I will be watching for more builds near this level, outstanding! Thank you for posting!!
" She's a beaut, Clark"! Very nice design. The execution was great as well. A complex build and design will often throw up a difficult umber of things to plan and account for in the process and when you are in building and making mode steps can often get missed or not thought of at the time. It happens so don't sweat it. It turned out great.
I watch a lot of content like this, and this has to be one of my top 10 videos of this genre. You're craftsmanship and attention to detain, in both your work and your video, is astonishing. Truly a masterpiece of a desk and a video. You have earned my like, my subscription, and my recommendation to my friends. Keep up the good work, it was a pleasure to watch your art.
I haven't watched any of your videos since a table saw cross cut sled a few years ago and I'll say your quality has improved a lot. I enjoyed this a lot.
This is insanely awesome table, not sure what else could you do to make it more spectacular!!!! I am so impressed. I feel like a woodworking caveman. Amazing work!!
Just had to comment to say, yes, you should do more of these, this was an absolutely fantastic video and fantastic build. You are clearly very talented. I enjoyed the hell out of this.
first time for a long time i can genuinely say: AMAZING. I love the vision; i admire the PERSISTENCE; the end result is knockout. EXCELLENT. REALLY INSPIRING
Absolutely beautiful work, Scott. And showing the "mistakes" and iteration along the way is definitely reassuring for us newbies. If it's fun for you, more high-end furniture videos would be a treasure for us :)
This is by far the best piece of modern furniture I've seen. Seriously, everything else is just river tables or live edge slabs propped on legs made from iron tubes. And where it's not live edge, it's the overly smooth roundovers that look like blobs of melted plastic. Your desk is amazing, with its flowing curves, but also with crisp angles, perfectly balanced and elegant. It's a shame you coudn't stop it from racking, but perhaps a couple unobrtusive strategically-placed iron brackets can solve this issue? But other than that, great job, you're an inspiration to us all!
I love this piece and, especially, your process driven by "inspiration". Very good interventions when you made some errors. It shows the necessity for resilience, persistence, and creativity. Thanks for sharing!!
Not only is that a beautiful desk, but it's a beautiful video! Production quality is very high. Love the music, the pace, clear voiceover, great videography. ANd the desk... wow! The brass pieces certainly add that final touch of elevation. I think having the brass in the feet and the top definitely help to balance things and make it more elegant. If racking is a problem, you could add a board to the bottom of the top tight to both legs. You could even make it kind of chunky, and add a hollow in the back for cable management. You're going to want to domino in or somehow attach the stretcher to the legs, but maybe some dowels and brass would work there too. Thanks Scott! Absolutely love this style of video.
Scott, this is amazing! I think you definitely nailed Nick Pedulla's style, and I am in total envy of your new desk. Thank you for sharing this process with us.
Great build Scott. And, it was worth the wait. Although I love your shorter format videos, every once in a while these longer ones are, although time consuming, very informative. Thank & keep up the good work.
Congrats on the big project. It came out amazing. Love the look of the bent laminations on the sides. I enjoy both the longer form videos and the shorter, more information focused videos. Make what you makes you happy
Newbie here lures in by the thumbnail - what a symphony youve made of great wood grains, interesting play of light and shadow, bent and contoured and crisp profiles, and gills. Your table has organic, slightly rosy gills!
Enjoyed your video very much ! I made furniture for over 50 years of a variety of styles but especially Sam Maloof’s . Keep up the great work ,Peter Walsh , Victoria , B C Canada
Kirby design, I always do battle with curving my edges before my project is finished and I learned way back and my twelve-year-old wood shop class, you shouldn't curve all of your edges before putting something together because then it will be wobbly. Hahaha. I love how you Show the use of hand tools and how they juxtapose to power tools. I see most people using mainly power tools, and most of my early carpentry was done only with hand tools. And it's very true that, though power tools have a place, hand tools are great for specific jobs. I would strongly encourage you to keep making longer videos. I really like this one. It gives me somebody besides blacktail studio to watch for high-end furniture.
For what it's worth Scott, I'd say just do the high end builds when you need to do a high end build and not because you feel as though you need to appease your audience. There's no denying that that desk is beautiful and it's great to see a woodworker making a piece of furniture for themselves rather than to be flogged off to a paying customer at a later date. Great content, great commentary, great editing and a bloody great channel to boot. Keep doing what your doing ... it's perfect 👌
It took me 3 days to finish this video, and I insisted to finish it although I am busy, but I liked the overall process, and how you designed it and build it with high end details. I liked the brass addition, and the laminated curves. Excellent job!! 👏👏👏
While I do thoroughly enjoy most of your videos, it was refreshing to see a nicely executed furniture design. The added elements, like the sail designs in between the leg pieces, really helped to elevate the piece… no pun intended.
Really dig the design of this desk, the curves and "gills" give it a slight nouveau look that i'm partial to. Been thinking of making something similar for a while. Great work!
Absolutely stunning. This and a very few other builds have made me actually say wow out loud. Awesome work and i hope we see another creative furniture build like this one soon. Much rather see this than strength testing glue joints
Love this build. As someone who is trying to build fine furniture themselves I way prefer this content over stuff like top five tools/ pocket hole quick shop stuff. I mean I watch that stuff too lol but this is my favorite
13:23, your audio editing is on point, both the narration and music mix. It’s inspiring watching the builds and editing getting progressively better. I love watching engineers be artists.
Scott, awesome work!! That desk is beautiful!! I love your honesty during the build. Please continue with the High End Furniture!! You have a new fan!!
Wow, Man oh Man you did a wonderful job on that desk. And definitely a top high end build. very creative. Something to strive for in me a mere mortal woodworker. Lots of great ideas.Thank-you.
Hey man, this is my first time watching you and i just wanted to say, that this is BEAUTIFUL. You mentioned a few times in the video that you got inspiration from Pedula and I wanted to let you know, I saw your thumbnail and immediately said “Pedula posted!? Oh no, who is this???” Very happy with results and excited to watch all your other videos!
I regularly visit your channel which is very pleasant. The search for aesthetics and rendering is superb. I had a little doubt about the curved and laminated parts. The result is simply magnificent. Congratulations. And one more subscriber.
Wow 😮 That is an exceptional piece of furniture. I watch about 50 RUclipsrs including Pedula Studio and Foureyes and Shaun Boyd as well as Pask Makes. You certainly have every right to be very proud of that desk. I often shy away from long videos and it did take me a while to actually start watching this, but it was highly entertaining all the way through to the end so there were no regrets, and even a slight bit of disappointment that it was over. It didn't feel that long. I like all the types of videos you do, and more like these would be welcomed. Great video!!
I love works like this. They really tell you that humans can do anything if they are provided with the capabilities and moral support. Just a lot of love, a little support, and more containment make you able to own the moon while standing on the ground.
This project shows off your personal style much more than anything you’ve built on the channel before, and I’m here for more of it. Desk looks gorgeous ❤
This is the first video of yours that I've seen, I'm glad the algorithm fed it to me. I'd definitely like to see more of this kind of video ( going to watch more of your stuff right after I post this comment) You have a unique style, not just in your design here, but in the camera work and voice over work. I watch a lot of woodworking content, mostly high end furniture stuff, and this video fits right in with the likes of The Wood Whisperer, FourEyes furniture, and Bourbon Moth Woodworking, while at the same time retaining your own identity.
Magnificent build! A curved arch gusset spanning the back of the desk to stiffen it. Screwed in from the sides with the brass pillows to cover the screws.
Wow!!! Definitely knocked it outta the park. In Pedulla fashion, but unique in its own way. Absolutely love it! I honestly didn’t think the bent laminated legs were going to work but you figured it out. Amazing job!!!
I absolutely loved what you did here. Your feet cheeks remind me of iron man feet. I kove how you show your mistakes, but more importantly showing how you got around them, and giving hope to others with their mistakes. Thank you for taking me on your journey. God bless brother
My god, the colour of that wood is absolutely stunning. Love your creativity and the fact you enjoyed so much building it. New here and here to stay. ♥
I've only just discovered your channel and have to say I love it. I'm looking forward to working my way through your previous videos, I definitely agree that you should do more of the high end builds. Your attention to detail is fantastic to watch and I look forward to seeing more videos of high end builds as well as your normal content.
This is a work of art! It's awesome to watch and listen to your thought process, and see that taking risks pays off. Nick would be proud that he inspired the bent lam. Love it, Scott!
First time watching you and I’m so thrilled I found your channel. You are quite a talented craftsman young man!! You should be extremely proud of yourself for this stunning creation. You will never see something like this in any furniture store. I just subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to watch more. ❤
People will certainly buy that design if you try to sell it. Those sides are just totally unique. I also enjoy the way you covered your screws with those little wooden pieces. People are always trying to put round ones in and then sand them down and not have them show, but they always show anyway. I would appreciate a little shorter video, but all in all I really liked what I saw. I will subscribe to you.
What an awesome design! I love that you show your mistakes, and it's totally relatable to feel like a dingus because of those. The one thing that made it kind of a bummer from my perspective was the self-deprecating comments that go beyond feeling silly about a mistake and fall right into bullying crap like making fun of your "twiggy" arms or "not being emotionally equipped to handle awkard silence." I love most of your narration, you are funny, and once we make that connection with your story, it's a bummer to hear you be super disrespectful to yourself. If you were my friend and someone said the same things about you, that person and I would have some words. It would be great to watch your videos, see your mistakes, and have your funny narration without getting interrupted by things that I'd only expect to hear from trolls in the comment section or a schoolyard bully. Keep making cool stuff and respect us enough to respect yourself!

Whenever I cry, i watch woodworking videos I don't know why, but this definitely calmed me down absolutely gorgeous desk fixed my mood

D'as funny
That's tragic man. I feel that pain.
Dude, I like seeing any self deprecating videos.Especially the ones featuring beautiful furniture.
That's why I like FourEyes Furniture videos. Love his dry sense of humour, albeit with the occasional "Dad" jokes.
Thanks for the feedback, duly noted!
Yes, very entertaining.
Though if you get tired of using scotch tape - their are large paper rolls (almost translucent silk paper) - used by architects or textile designers.

Thanks for recognizing that. I'm estimating about 8 weeks of full time work for the desk and two weeks for the video. Cheers 👍

Sir, you have inspired me to get curvy with my next project. Excellent work!
Awesome job Scott. Really enjoyed watching this video and seeing your creativity and craftsmanship. Yes, more high end furniture vids please!
Never watched you before...absolutely LOVED your desk. Great job!!!!
Awesome build. You pushed yourself, explored some new techniques, and the finished product is awesome. Juice well worth the squeeze!
So cool to watch someone build something unique and different. Love the video!!!
This is one of the most beautiful pieces on RUclips. I had an emotional reaction to how gorgeous it is.
