This is a great cover. I'm not sure if it adds much to Scott's original, but it's still a great take.

I don't think they were trying to add anything, just singing his songs. Scott was there (and I was and it was a fantastic evening).

I have to come back and say that Richard Hawley is a masterful guitar player and from what I gather in his interviews a very decent human being. My comment below remains and he shouldn't have tried a Scott song because he is not a proper singer. Accomplished musician yes!! I first met Scott back in the early 60's when he came to Tucson with The Routers. My cousin David was a Hollywood singer with many of the groups and stopped by my house to see my older brother on his way in to town. Scott had a blonde pompadour haircut then and was a kinda funny guy.

Ahh....a Scott Walker track from the late 60's..... arrangement replicated here, by the late Wally Stott (latterly Angela Morley).

Quite possibly the most disappointing treatment of a Scott composition. If Scott was in the crowd he was most likely convulsing internally at the hacking of his work. Who this singer is , is beyond me but he needs to go take some voice lessons, flat utterly flat, no soul! Orchestration followed the chart perfectly.

Actually, I quite liked this, and a nice guitar solo. Don't agree with you about the voice, but there isn't much here that gets any further than Scott's version, and you hit the nail on the head regarding the orc. Great players, but they could have been the session band from the original. Nothing new here. Having said all that, the original is so hard to top, the guy was on a hiding to nothing.
