Ive seen Richard hawley live twice and he never dissapoints absolute class, and this is just mindblowing. Those Scott walker tracks were just made for Richard hawleys voice.
Wow, a live rendition of Two Ragged Soldiers... it would have been sublime if Scott was singing it. RIP Scott, love you and thanks for the brilliant music.
Thank you for this wonderful upload. As a fellow musician from the English heart of intelligent music creation, Sheffield; To see the greatest songwriters pay The Greatest tribute like this is deeply moving.
que difícil interpretar estas canciones que casi siempre acaban cebas.... este rey no falló, sin embargo... lo hizo con modestia y proporcionado... como lo hace una persona inteligente e indudablemente noble... lo queremos.
Maritza from London Even if the late Scott Walker was a guest at the Royal Albert Hall tribute it would have been courteous and thoughtful to be on stage with Jarvis as they were friend's and worked to-gether to talk about the concert and what he was working on. He didn't sing live in concert since the late 1970's!!!! It was very hard indeed for his very loyal fans who have supported him for decades. Some of his fans waited outside the concert hall to see or meet him but it didn't happen. What a dissapointment!! It is a great challenge for an artist /singer to cover and sing such a huge wonderful talent. The greatest singer and beautiful manp
@@maritzajoannou1506 Scott was at the gig but he stopped singing his songs on stage a long time before, he was never going to appear on the stage that night which surely those dedicated fans would know.
Andrew Mcinnis we would all love to hear Scott after so many years but I am grateful Richard, Jarvis, Susan and John paid tribute to an amazing voice and lyricist.
@vestiphobe Richard was a good friend of Scott's, that is possibly why he was asked to do some of the vocals. Scott was at the performance and was very happy with how it went.
I'm personally convinced that this guy can make it sound closer to the original today as Scotts voice has changed dramatically through the years. It definitely isn't fully attributable on Scott altering his voice technique. This is not some sort of insult either as I'm perfectly fine with many artists changing through the years in many ways since it's only natural to do so and it keeps things fresh which is what I prefer. After all, if anyone wants to hear 1960's Scott, RUclips is at our fingertips and I'm very thankful for that. I could go on about this as I love Scotts work but in conclusion I'm simply happy this video exists. I never expected that someone would go through the effort of replicating the instruments on the song through a top notch orchestra rendition. Cheers.
artdingo yes he was in attendance. Stated in this post prom interview. Approx. at the 5:24 mark. I’m glad these artists and audience paid tribute and Scott was able to be there before unfortunately passing away. RIP Scott. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p05b2dv2
It's raining today..Music beautiful,timeless.. and ..then Hawley misses Scott's delivery by a country mile.It just sounds terrible. There are some voices you cannot try to emulate..the bum notes in two ragged soldiers are a nightmare to wait for.
Johnny Connelly when you take this song on its merits, it’s beautiful. Hawley did a pleasant job. One can’t compare this voice with Scott Walkers voice. Scott blows everybody out of the water.
@@francesmoore6725 Maritza Joannou I was waiting and waiting for a long time for Scott the 'GOLDEN VOICE ' to appear and sing at least with Jarvis during the tribute evening at the Royal Albert Hall. I was very disappointed that he did'nt come on stage to speak to the audience and thank them for coming to the tribute evening. It was challenging at times listening to other singers' and artists sing their interpretation of Scott's songs.I liked Jarvis' sensitive interpretation of Plastic Palace people. . Scott's songs
I think a lot of people expected Scott to appear. However he was there as a guest so perfectly understandable that he refrained from taking a bow. It was wonderful that people acknowledged his contribution to music. I think also that it was brave of these guys to attempt Scott’s songs, his voice was so unique and powerful that everyone would suffer in comparison.
The reverence of this music for Scott is beautiful.
Scott Walker has not yet been recognized for the genius that he was.
Thankyou for not forget Scott .❤
Love Scott Walker and love Richard Hawley, and these two songs are great, but don't know exactly why something is missing here
Ive seen Richard hawley live twice and he never dissapoints absolute class, and this is just mindblowing. Those Scott walker tracks were just made for Richard hawleys voice.
Richard does a good job on It's Raining Today

Scott Walker y Richard Hawley son dos de mis cantantes favoritos. Esto es el paraíso para mí.
I believe in every word this man sings
Fabulous ❤

Whatever this guy does he manages to pitch it just perfectly. Absolute professional.

Wish they could have gotten Scott for this one

vestiphobe the original is complemented perfectly with orchestral arrangement.

Beeb got it wrong, the song is Scott Walker not Richard Hawley
What notes are being played .. in general...by the strings for the dissonance?
quality
