So I placed my phone by his head and played this song, he turned his head looked at me held my hand and squeezed my hand tightly. He died not long after. We played this song at his funeral, with photos of him from being a young boy until the night before he passed away. The words are so simple yet poignant and beautiful. It is on you tube “Allan J Brown 2024” thank you Richard for such a wonderful song so beautifully sung.
Saw Richard Hawley in concert at the Oxford 02. When he sang ' Open up your door' it really gave you goose pimples. He was utterly fantastic that night.
