Since I never played this game (but neither I played Myst nor Riven) I was looking for a walkthrough of someone who already played it and explained it along the way. I thought 34 parts was too long but I'm glad I decided to watch this series, it's very entertaining and it got me really into the world and the story
I only just now realized that he's wearing the tapestry because some how I missed that it was even gone. I love that you point out little details like that.
It's funny but when I played this game, I was never mad at Saavedro. I've always wanted to tell him I'm sorry for the mess he's had to endure and give him a giant hug.
Well yeah, he while he is the reason you're here and he's clearly on a roaring rampage of revenge, he did lose everything he had to Atrus's sons.
The problem is that he's taking it out on the wrong people, which is Atrus's "not evil part of the family", which is him, his wife, and his baby.
He seems to not care about whether it's just or not, just that SOMEONE suffers for what his sons did to Narayan and subsequently, his family.
Absolutely depressing honestly, he's lost everything, even his own home which he can't return to because of the ice shield.
The poor dude is living off of pure spite, really. I wonder if it really would've been better for him to have died...after all, he wouldn't have become this bitter husk of a person if he had.
Wormtongue was an excellent choice for playing Saavedro's character. it's some of the best acting i've ever seen in a game
the little squee noise at the end was hilarious. lmao
I always liked Saavedro's outfit in this age :-)
I love Saavedro's huge comical hammer that he has, I almost thought he would say: "Yabba-Dabba-Doo!"
Saavedro is CREEPY. He gave me nightmares after I saw this last level and the bad endings XP
+Daniel Selk Dude Saavedo is played by Brad Dourif, The man has a reputation of playing some messed up rolls. Not forgetting that he was the voice of Chucky from all the Child Play films.
I played this game when i was a kid and i was so scared of saveedro D:

@DarkestElemental616 Or jump in the star fissure, but Gehn might have been able to retrieve it if he had done more research on it instead of sealing it. Or like in Spire, Sirrus's prison age, where Atrus linked while jumping off the age where Sirrus can't get to. That's also a quite effective tactic of "closing the door behind you", jumping off high cliffs you can't climb down!

Ha ha, so true! The graphics remind me of a cross between between Myst and Riven. But playing Myst IV now and the graphics are more beautiful, like Riven. So rich and lifelike. All Myst games are awesome though.

Never noticed Saavedro was WEARING the tapestry, I thought he just tore it down because he didn't like looking at it.
Actually, you can close the door behind you by burning the Linking Book and linking right before it's gone, if I recall the tale of Ti'Ana correctly... Then again, Saavedro kind of forgot that he set Atrus' house of fire and stuff, so...yep.
All this time I thought he was saying "They could be alive out there...", and so I could never decipher the next thing he said under his breath... now I realise he said "No one can be alive out there... no one..."
His hopes and dreams yet again come crashing down on him in one minute.
HA! I wish there an option on that scene that says "Flip the bird at Saavredo"
I explain the answer to your second question in the speech I give in the observatory late in Part 14. As for the first, I agree that Atrus probably would've gladly helped Saavedro. I think the main problem is that by this time, Saavedro is trusting no one, especially anyone belonging to the family that he currently believed destroyed his homeland.

You know, I wonder if Savvy ever tried to use his big hammer on the ice balls. Although the small one could be solid, and if it doesn't work on the big one I guess he loses that hammer...
Saavedro knew about the Tohmana book that's in that area right? He had to of course, he used it to get to Atrus' study.
@Phanto5692 Dilandau3000 did Myst 4 and he might have done Myst 5 and Uru but the matter of checking his channel answers both of our questions..

Narayan...the weird design of that age is the story tells a tale of a race of people that live there yet there was not one humanoid home insight. Plot hole. Where were these people living and how did they live?
i really hope that you can upload more often... waiting about a month for 12 minutes... isn't really what i had hoped, still a big fan though!
Why does Saavedro bend half way down to look into our eyes? Are we supose to be a kid or something?
I remember waay back when - even before I tried any Bioware game - I wished Myst would have a dialogue system like they usually make! - while I loved the acting and it's still my favorite game.. I would Love to be able to actually "talk" with the characters and not just be the silent.. camera..

@MetalGearRaxis But if that Tohmana book is the same one he used at the beginning of the game, then why does it link into the courtyard now? And if it isn't, where is that book?

I understand why he would pissed at sirrus and achenar but couldn't he have just gone to tomahna and asked for atrus' help? I'm sure atrus would've obliged, if he didn't then hit him over the head with the hammer lol! plus how did he manage to link to tomahna in the first place?
I thought for sure he was gonna hit us with the hammer and then I was gonna shout ITS HAMMAH TIME! but that didn't happen yet another reason Saavedro is LAME!
ill be honest if aitrus has taught his sons and came with them every trip they wwanted to go on they wouldnt have become greedy boys-men that burn and destroy the ages
I have to ask, how did you get this game to work on your computer and keep its save files? I can get it to run, but I lose my saved game no matter how much I save... And it's always a little slow/glitchy. What settings do you use?
