Fun fact: When they asked Tyler to write a song for Suicide Squad, they asked him to write a song about guns and Tyler said no and that he would write his own song, they could decide whether they still wanted it. They ended up using it anyways which is pretty cool
I don't think that's anti gun either. He just wants to make the best song possible, his way. Besides it's not much of a loss if they don't make it on a suicide boys track
@@richardmoore609 yes, I didn't mean that he was anti-gun. Just that he would rather write his own song than what they had wanted him to write, as what they wanted him to write wouldn't have been nearly as meaningful as Tyler likes to write haha
yo dude i gotta say this, i see all these reactors reacting to twenty one pilots songs. they always give a good and “fake” reaction and then upload it and have the die hard fans keep coming back for it and giving them views. You’re the only reactor i see that truly appreciates the music as well as analyzes the music. So just a quick thank you for that it’s dope man
Fun fact: Since Tyler wrote Heathens himself, it connects to all of his songs AND the story. I heard that Heathens music video somewhat takes place before Heavydirtysoul which kinda makes sense. If you watch the mv closely, it represents the color yellow (Trench) all over the place. Especially right at the end where Tyler's suit changed from yellow back to orange (mix of red and yellow) informing that he's not fully in either side (Blurryface/Trench). *Correct me if I'm wrong y'all.*
I never thought of the orange thing being between red & yellow. For some reason I feel like maybe green is going to be the color of the next album. Like a stoplight only reversed. Blurrryface stops you, Trench is the journey (yellow/yield) the next album will be...like go? Somewhat more free from the anxiety etc.
Tyler actyally said on an interview that he made the song so that if the people from the movie didn't like it, it would still be a tøp song. And also, he was so convinced that they wouldn't like it that he had a speech and all to say something like "our fans will love it so thank you, bye"
YES! So glad you've started on these! Some background for you: Mutemath opened for them on the first leg of their Blurryface tour. Tyler and Josh were initially fans growing up. Paul Meaney from Mutemath helped produce Trench. Other than that, based on your reaction, I truly believe that you are going to love the upcoming tracks even more. From Tyler's dances (you haven't seen anything yet) to some of the transitions (especially in Ride), you are in for a good time! Awesome reaction. Cannot wait for more. Cheers!!
I love how much you appreciate true musicianship, and you pick out so many details that are overlooked by other "reactors". Keep it up Ernest you are on your way to the top and I'm glad I get to come along for the ride!
11:55 you got me there. Sometimes I watch compilations of ty dancing and just cry bc he's so precious... I love him so much and it hurts. I need help. I also can't wait for him and Jenna to post pictures of their daughter. THIS MAN IS A DAD! 😭💕
Paul Meany is the lead singer, song writer, keyboardist and currently the only remaining member of MuteMath. There are a handful of amazing MuteMath songs I love and heard only because of their collab together in these sessions. Tyler brought Paul Meany in to help on a couple Trench tracks. Once you know MuteMath you’ll hear his influence on Trench. These sessions were produced by Paul Meany I believe. Super talented guy. For some more back story.. Tyler was a fan of theirs many many years ago and MuteMath ended up opening for TOP back on the Emotional Road Show/Blurryface tour. I was lucky enough to be at one of those shows. I wish I knew back then to pay more attn when they were on stage. Good stuff.
Fun fact: both Tyler and Josh said they were hella nervous and a bit intimidated doing this. They really don’t collaborate with other artists, except when they bring out their opening bands for a couple of cover songs during their concerts, so this was new territory for them. Tyler must have felt really comfortable with Paul Meany during this, because he invited Paul to assist him with production for Trench.
Definitely agree it could be one band, but if you know any MM you can immediately hear the influence on TOP. Paul Meany (lead singer, amazing writer/producer) & the MM vibes are masterful in this session
I implore you to explore Mutemath. They are one of my all time favorite bands, and incredibly underrated! Like NF, Mutemath has a fanatical fanbase, and aside from discovering some more amazing music, you'll gain many more subs and those clicks!
This is why I return to your channel 👌 You are the only one developing your concept and I love it! And I see that you've got TØP's hardcore fans here, that's because of your passion for the reaction, keep up the good work 💗 Love and light from Sweden 🇸🇪
My faves are - Tear and my Heart because it sounds totally different than the album version in a better way and Lane Boy cuz just wait for the drum battle at the end like holy hell its amazing. Can’t wait for you to do those two.
I'm so happy you dropped this, I was just watching one of your older twenty one pilots reactions, and was hoping you would do some more from them soon. Then I went to my subscriptions and lo and behold there was a new one right at the top of the page. Great video, I've always loved the Mute Math sessions and hoped you would get to them eventually. I think you'll love the rest of the songs just as much. Also, in case you don't know the lead guy from Mute Math, Paul Meany, helped Tyler produce Trench (which is the first time Tyler's let someone else in on that process, other than Josh of course), so this was kind of a sneak peek into their process and sound when working together.
Thanks dude. Tyler’s voice isn’t as strong in this one. This was done in the middle of a 2 1/2 year tour. His voice was kinda toasty, but it’s still awesome
It's quite fullfliling for the mind when you notice the miniscule details and enjoy it.. like watching someone who shares the same enthusiasm for cinematography and musicianship... Kudos bro.. many reactors just nod their heads and have only one line to say.. "shit's fire" or some commonplace adjectives. Loved to be a part of it man. "Fuckin-A Ernest"...
I'm glad you finally got to this session! One of my absolute favorites that I listen to at least once a week. If you ever check out Mutemath, listen to their song "Typical" which is the song that got them on the map.
I love that you love twenty one pilots. I just have to let you know that Tyler Joseph is the unbelievable vocalist and Josh Dun is the unbelievable drummer

Paul Meany.. the lead vocalist of MuteMath (the guy on keyboard wearing white) actually has a ton of influence on the album trench that's why Tyler sang more falsetto on the album
9:49 I don't play exactly the drums but I do play other percussion instruments (from Brazil and Africa) and that thing with the drums, just before hitting the first pulse again, in spanish is called "recuperación" literal translation: "recovery" (Just in case, sorry for my English 😅) hope that helps. Love all your reactions 😘😘

Yup yup! He wanted to make a true top song that could still be theirs regardless if they used it for the movie or not. Awesome.

Guns are yet mentioned in the Heathens lyrics, they just aren't the point of the song. ;)
