i’ve been watching you for YEARS now, like i’m talking 2011 or so (longer than this account has been here lol) and in a couple weeks i’ll go into my third and final year at university. it’s been so lovely to grow with you and i’m so happy that you’re in a position now where you don’t have to rely on this sometimes horribly unreliable platform for income and that you’re doing what you’ve really wanted to do full time for so long. hope great things come your way in abundance x
It feels so weird to say that you are proud of someone you’ve never met, but that’s just the way I’m going to have to phrase it. Shit, I’m proud of what you’ve achieved, what you’re doing now, and what you have going on on the horizon. Will absolutely keep my eyes peeled for your name to crop up in credits.

I haven't been on youtube much, but something possessed me to watch this video when I saw it in my subscriptions. I'm so proud of you and all the work that you've done! I started watching you in middle school, and now I am a couple days in to my PhD program, so it just feels very full circle that you're starting a new chapter of your life as well. As a uni student (and being too broke to afford a TV license) I don't usually have the chance to watch too much TV, but I did see this advert when I went home over summer! I had no idea you were involved with that at all, but for whatever reason that advert did stand out to me. Well done, man!
That gap of unemployment between filming jobs and the stress of having to find something else is one of the things I’m least looking forward to when I (hopefully) go into the film industry

This makes so much sense and is really relatable in terms of balancing my own various creative endeavours and actually managing to prioritise the bits I most enjoy. It really illustrates how not straight forward/ non-linear creative work of all kinds can be. Good on you for moving forward and letting go of certain things to make room for others. Total respect 🙏

This is wonderful. And fascinating. I started watching young lads and gals on RUclips over 10 years ago (gosh this sounds creepy) thinking, they're having fun, I wonder what they'll do as adults. And for some of them it really felt like youtube can be a learning platform for them more than just a fun thing to do from their bedrooms (man that takes us all WAY back).
It's heartwarming to see you become what you wanted to be - a director. It's an interesting route you took, thanks to this platform that didn't even exist not that long ago!!

jack, you were one of the first people i watched on youtube back when i was 12? i’m almost 20 now, and i’ve watched your content for the whole time i’ve been using the internet. i love your creativity, and your way with words. I don’t know where i’m going with this but, thanks Jack! thanks for being there over the last 8 years and for inspiring me along the way. okay, 8 years sounds crazy how has time gone so fast. i was in theatre for a long time, but have distanced myself now because i couldn’t handle the pressure both on and off stage. i’m now going down at art route and it’s still so daunting having people judge your creativity. i still don’t know where this is going, but thank you Jack. For being there, over a difficult time of my life :)

What you said at 1:38 is possibly the exact thing I’ve been trying to piece together over the last couple of years. It’s doing anything to get to the directing part. Behind a camera making cool shit is the best place to be and I’ve never felt more in my element than when I’m there. I used to watch you for a long time, and I’m glad to see someone reaching for their dreams. You used to talk about filmmaking years ago, and now you’re branching out, you’re solidifying into the person you want to be and I can do nothing but admire that as someone who’s not yet sure of what my own dreams are.
