    Rea, I know it’s probably pretty warm there, and at low speed, no air moving. You’re also confidant and experienced, but for the noobs out there, if you might drop the bike when learning, wear a jacket to protect against possible bruising and contusions.

    Rea, I've been watching your videos since I started learning how to ride a motorcycle last August. I'm only a couple of weeks from my practical assessment here in Perth, Western Australia. I'm turning 43 years old in a couple of days and I just put down a deposit on a new motorcycle. I've learned a lot from watching your videos. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos, and the clarity with which you explain things.

    Great tutorial on learning the friction zone, Rea👍🏼
    Bonus tip: although learning the clutch on a level is great when first starting out, practicing on a slight, uphill incline (driveway,etc) is a good way to stay sharp, and develop a better feel.
    Just roll up about ten feet, pull in the clutch and let gravity roll the bike back. Repeat. This is especially useful if you ride offroad.

    Kickstand switch when parking da bike:
    There are 3 ways to cut power to the engine at the end of your ride and parking:
    1) flip the red kill switch. The engine stops but the E power to the ignition is still on.
    2) turn the key off. The engine stops, and all E power is also turned off.
    3) Brad’s method: I use the kickstand down kill switch to turn the engine off when I park, by putting the kickstand down, then turn the key to off to cut E power to the engine.
    There are several reasons why I’ve developed this method when stopping and getting off da bikes:
    1) I am sure that the kickstand is down before I get off the bike.
    Don’t laugh. I’ve seen several bikers dismount after stopping and turning the bike off, with the kickstand still up! (Did it once myself ;).
    Not only does it damage the bike when you hop off without the kickstand down, but it is quite embarrassing if there are people around.
    A real forehead slapper!!!
    2) If you stop the bike and turn the bike off with the kill switch or key, but stay in the seat for a while, will you remember to check the kickstand before getting off the bike?
    Are there any downsides to this method? Maybe

  • @HoratioBunce503
    @HoratioBunce503 7 месяцев назад +1

    Here’s a splanatiion of the kickstand switch:
    The kickstand switch cuts E power to the engine with it down.
    This prevents the mc from dragging the kickstand with the kickstand down and the engine running.
    My bikes, maybe not all, will allow you to start the bike in N with the kickstand down, but not if it’s in gear.

    You showed it very, very clearly by taking off your hands( only for the sake of demonstration). I think it becomes dangerous when the smallest element of confusion is added.

  • @theslowdeath
    @theslowdeath 6 месяцев назад

    you don't need to add power if you already going on 1st gear, you can release clutch and bike will ride on steady speed... MT-07 on 1st gear w/o throttle goes around 8 mph, very good speed for slow manoeuvring drills and traffic

      Yay! I’m glad it sounds good haha. Shoot I’ll have to add my mic to my equipment list in the description box but in this video I use 2 different mics. The intro is the RODE wireless mic (connected to my DSLR camera). The rest of the audio is from Amazon called “PoP voice Professional Lavalier Lapel Microphone” (I’ll have the link in the description box of this video) it’s connected to my Insta 360 Ace Pro with the mic adapter. 😊
