When you see that the Ghoul was an available target for Cure the whole game plan suddenly changed from "Imma hurt you" to "Let me see that booboo"

all death categories enemy can be hurt by cure , in the old game some even die instantly with rise
On the original ff7, the boss at the end of red xiii's "home" can be killed with a phoenix down. That was my first intro to kill the boss with healing that they never really left out of ff games

Seriously man i dont know where your channel came from but there is literally nothing better. Every guide I use is a 1st attempt win.
I also never thought of using Cure spells on Ghoul. I'll try this. Thank you. And on Trials of Mana Remake you don't get penalized for you teammates actions, even when you switch to control them after they get hit. The bonus exp. points at the end of the battle still go to you as long as the player controlled person doesn't get hit while you are controlling them(if that made sense in my explanation).

Whoa, that was easy :) If you somehow manage to screw up curaga syncro-launch & deal just the half damage (As I did), just repeat the process of running around as Aerith & curaga away again during reapear. I managed to beat this fight with just curagas, almost no physical damage inflicted :)
Yep I missed too the sync curaga attack. So I winged it with Aerith waiting for Ghoul to cast Incorporeal form again. Even if Balefire KO's Cloud/Tifa, Aerith's healing spells totally destroy this guy - it's almost too easy.

Yeah the Cure magic damaging undead is a classic even from early FF's - when a bunch of Zombies or whatever were on the screen in FF1 and 2, your White Mage felt like a God!
When you're on the verge of a full mental breakdown, about to cry tears of blood, getting detroyed by this boss in hard mode, and you watch this video and be like: ._________________.
Like, I'm so pissed it was this easy to kill this boss, but at the same time grateful it was THIS easy to kill this boss. I had ABSOLUTELY no idea you could cast healing spells to damage this type of enemies.
Haha I'm sorry to hear the pain you had to endure my friend! It happens to many unfortunately! But undead enemies in FF series usually can die from Cure, Potions, Phoenix downs, revive etc. But I'm happy to hear your are about to crush it!

I was really confused on this boss because I couldn't really see that it was changing forms. Even without everything optimal, I was able to make a similar build and kill the ghoul pretty fast using the strategy in this video. Thanks!~

I followed your guide on Tifa's crit build (with Gotterdammerung) and I'm loving it. That Starshower + Dolphn Fury combo on that build just melts bosses. Almost always 9999 damage on the last uppercut of the Dolphin Fury. I'm planning to run through the game again on Hard mode to see how she would fair against each boss while in this build. Might as well plan an Aerith build too before going through it.

Slow and steadily getting closer to CH 18 Hard
Rude and reno has a cool mechanic where you can use magnify and sleep to put them both to sleep. But use stop on reno twice. First phase and second phase after the gate. I gotta put it in video form
@@BltzZ I am going to have to do some experimenting for sure. I find reno is easy enough. When I fought him way back, punisher counter and counterstance really helped me.
My problem stems from the inability to counter Rude effectively.

Time materia could be helpful to freeze him when you trying to stagger him in the 2nd phase.
So let me get this right,
Set Aerith as party leader
Hide behind the debris cast a shield wait until he vanishes then cast two curaga as cloud and Aerith.
Then on the second phase run around as Aerith until he vanishes again then use curaga with both of them?
Right here when he pressure using stop with Tifa could probably save you enough time to finish him off.
Well you cannot kill him in second phase I believe he becomes intangible and you have to wait the cutscene out

U know that u can get unlimited prayer materia from chapter 14 it is the only yellow materia to always come back u can get only 4 chakras but pray for days once u get the gate key to open it up I didn’t know if u knew that just throwing it out there
Nice that’s what I thought you were gonna do nice job a Fira or firagga would of staggered the ghost I use a regen as well like a posion I play that same way I just use refocuse off the bat then cast regen Then pop sheild then use L2 or R2 commands with rica and cloud to do damage and once he switches I curaga one time and drop arcane ward the repeat and stagger with Tifa with her stagger attack with parry materia so I can do it fast and use firagga with other two in arcane ward it’s finishes the fight so fast and I run And I use lb charm and 2 fury rings I tried the tarot on the regen makes it posion linger all ailments last longer so regen last more ticks but most time fury rings and great job on no damage run keep up the great videos
Thanks dude! We absolutely melted this boss! I tried to make the setup as easy as possible with base items outside of fury ring. Thing way players new to hard mode can tackle this easy
I like how you use use skill from a weapon (Bladed Staff) that you steal later in the game, so to get it, I need to beat that boss without it.
Hey BItzZ - Made it here and was a little apprehensive at first and don't have half the purple materia you have/used. However managed to do this first attempt using this strategy (unlike the daft Hell House) so many thanks for this one, top work
side note - Had to improvise as didn't have the same materia so used Magnify+Barrier to get Manawall cast to everyone during the 2nd stage with Aerith whilst doing laps around the back of the room, and this worked quite well for extra defence for everyone

Damn, every time I finish a "hard" from my point of view boss I go and watch your video, knowing I will see the boss shredded into pieces in under a minute. But this... is just broken :) I don't know why, but I did not try to cast cure on the boss when I saw it the list of targets. Great video.
Haha thanks man! In the OG game phoenix downs and X potions were broken against undead enemies and bosses haha. But yes I love that it returned during this section! Looking forward to making more of these for you guys

OK legit tried your method on hard mode and it mostly worked unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to fully level up my weapons so I could not use half the materia slots and materia needed BUT just when he got to just a quarter health he took out aerith and then tifa.
Man, I was so lucky managed to recover them both and then tifa used her limit break right at the end when aerith was bound.

This hard mode reminds me of the type of approach you need to take in Souls games. Hard mode in this game forces you to fight these bosses in the very specific way they were meant to be fought. Once you know how to truly fight them, the game becomes easier on hard mode. If you don't know, well then hard mode become a nightmare.
This was pretty lit. I feel like this was one of the more challenging bosses to fight only because you go into it swinging your sword around like any other fight so this battle really tests you knowledge of the systems the game has. Great video! Now where’s that “bloody palace” or VR dungeons DLC? Give us more reasons to play this game during the long wait for part 2 😭
I know right! I hope they have some updates coming up or planned for real. Bloody palace, boss mode, or even VR Coop would make me never drop this game haha. But let's be real I'll still keep on making videos for this
BltzZ keep up the good work. This really reminds me of how in-depth the OG FF7 was so I’m glad that you’re still discovering things about this game. Remake really shows how ahead of its time the materia system is. The fact that they can re-implement a turn based combat system to a real-time one so senselessly is mind blowing.
It blows my mind too! To the naysayers who were against and still are against this combat I think they need to grow up for real. This stuff we can do is phenomenal. I'm going to be streaming FF7 OG hopefully tomorrow night after we finish tlou2 be sure to tune into the stream!
SO hard if you can't double the curaga, the timing must be exact. A lot more goes into placement and timing than this guy gives himself credit for. This is really tough battle if the ghoul doesn't do as shown here and let you toss cure at 'em, he fights back hard and does high damage.
What are you taking about? When he goes into the red mode incorporeality you have plenty of time to cast curaga. You're not reading my previous reply to you. You DONT need to double cast the curaga just do one at a time if you find it difficult. Only cast curaga when he changes modes to the red mode
Well it looks like I won't be needing this guide I wanted to see if I could kick its ass on my own and little did I know I beat both bosses of this chapter on the first try, it maybe ineffectively as the guide, I wasted a lot of mp on this boss

You should do a video on all accessories and what they do and when they help like fury rings and the tarot cards etc I think it would be cool to explain how each could be used on certain bosses like tarot cards with posion more posion ticks you are really good at explaining everything also maybe a atb build no mp I’m sure u got so crazy stuff up your sleeve

Suggestion for those of us doing hard mode with Ragnarok: when ghoul is pressured go and dolphin flurry him with Tifa. Finish the fight then and there.
What about phase switches
@@BltzZ if you do 1 focused strike with cloud, then dolphin flurry, the ghoul will get staggered and killed by end of animation. Im talking about the last part, where in the video, you couldn't stagger the ghoul.
@@persassy7076 ok cool yeah you have to specify on the phases for bosses in this game. There is almost no way to one shot them without waiting it out unfortunately.

For this boss fight I usually just cast two Arise (One for each phase) instead of Curaga. I think that's a faster strategy and it kills it pretty quickly. I was't aware you can use Curaga in this fight.
Arise when I tested it does a max of 4700 damage in the video when I showed it. But curaga can do 8000-9999. Arise only costs 1 or 2 MP less anyways so you're saving MP yeah but missing out on 5k damage

Did you test of healing boosting accessories and weapon upgrades would increase the Curaga damage? Like the Healing Carcanet?
It just might but aerith typically hits a 9999 on the first curaga anyways

It's not how strong your characters are, it's how you strategize with them 😜
Exactlllly you can really go a long way with the right build and right materia. Heal him into the ground!
Every boss/sub boss has a different strategy, once we know the weakness it becomes pretty easy.

@@BltzZ realizing they don't do too much either, but dang it seemed OP when I was struggling to fight this boss for two hours. Also a huge thanks is in order, This strategy turned this fight around big time. Tifa fell twice, and finished the boss with her limit after being staggered. Really cool outcome.

Why not just use arcane ward ability instead of trying to cast with 2 characters?
Arcane ward only doubles offensive spells. Curaga is a support spell
The double refocus material is ridiculous. Maybe u can help put the ppl with less free time on their hands and give us a decent build for the regulars. I don’t have time to find every material in the game 4 times
That was a train wreck. i was playing hard mode today and i had to use a lot of heals during this fight especially with cloud and tifa. That meant eligor right after completly demolished me
You should lookup the infinite MP glitch video I made. Its a game changer on hard mode and what I use before every boss encounter to make sure my MP is topped off

No it does not but no worries there are plenty of boxes after you fight the ghoul before you fight eligor. Just do the save and break MP box glitch. Curaga does not use much mana as well. Be sure to checkout my eligor boss guide so you can see how much MP i use and how to defeat it quickly

I'm having trouble with the timing while casting curaga, how are you casting from two characters without exiting the menu after casting with the first character?
I'm hitting either L2 or R2 to bring up the command menu again. Make sure to keep cloud and aerith right next to each other as well

I remember Abadon in the great Salt Lake in FF8. Step 1: Boss. Step 2: Revive. Step 3: Profit! I guess there's always such an enemy in every FF

This guy did not change until I hit it with a physical attack.
I just did this method 3 times on my last stream it worked fine for me 1 year later

how did u know about hitting it with curaga?
In the older final fantasy games including FF7 OG whenever you use a healing item or a cure spell on a undead enemy they take massive damage. Against the first boss in cosmo canyon in OG you can use 1 X Potion to one shot the enemy lol
