What if the Od is like a bowl and the soul is the fluid inside the bowl. That's why changing the Od changes outside appearances but not that much the soul. That might also be why over time Subaru and the rest who got infantilised start to act more like a child, the the Od changed enough that the soul don't have enough space to keep everything from spilling. And soul transcription works like slowly swapping the fluids in the same bowl or something, stretching the bowl (Od) to fit the new fluid (soul). So basically, deep inside we are all soup.
Ye Taritta's name chapther really felt like it was just to trully introduce us to the stargazer concept and what it entails and the effects just getting a task of that magnitude from nowhere , unfortunately is probably the weakest named chpt in the entire arc and possibly rezero , besides that i do adore the theory about od and soul being "diferent" things cause it's an angle i don't think i've ever heard so that was a great segment , it's great seeing new blood just come trought these chpts sometimes to get people to think

Having you lay it out like this reinforces my opinion that just because we're not getting big plot rewrites of volumes doesn't mean the webnovel isn't still a draft version you know? Too many povs switching around is easy to remedy in an edit especially with so many ideas between them.
my theory is that Reinhard is also a game piece of the observers and that they are responsible for granting him his divine protections on request. i also think they are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts and expect Reinhard to keep the world on the correct path. my theory is that the dragon sword can only be used when the correct path is threatened (let's say by Puck destroying the world) or against enemies who are also the pawns of observers i wonder how far Reinhard is willing to go in order to fulfill what he might call his duty
but would that make the sword god [someone who should have communication with reinhard] an observer or more accurately are the observers the gods of the world and what is their relationship to od laguna , the being that people in the rezero world theorise is giving divine protections .
