I love these ivar cabinets, it’s so helpful to find an affordable piece that’s made from actual wood rather than chipboard and veneer. I made a tall cabinet by stacking two on top of each other and putting little hairpin legs on the bottom 😄

Oh...the pooch preciousness is off the charts. And DIY Danie's Dad said, "Let there be light"...and there was...and it was good. Lots of Uncle Bobs in this video.
this was so perfect!! Fit the space to a tee!! I freaked out at the crewel needlework of the plants on a ladder framed on the desk! I made this same piece in the early 70's and gave it to my mom for Christmas. It hung in my mother's home till her death in 2012. Taking it down to sell the house on closer inspection the fabric was so covered with nicotine ( both parents were heavy smokers) that I was not able to save it. Other needlework gifts were Cross stitch & framed under glass so they were safe. It was Fun this morning to see the plant ladder again it was a crazy project with lots of unique stitches. Love your show.
I love it! Only thing i would have done differently was a warmer stain, like a deep cognac - it's much more MCM. But I think the darker stain matches her space very well
This looks great! The video is great! And then I saw the crewel embroidery in the staging and everything else just left my brain! I made that exact one for my mom in 1974! It’s so cool to see it in a video. Great interpretation of MCM. I can’t wait to see what you do with the wall! Thank you for a quick glimpse of my past.🌸
I'm obsessed with that embroidery, too! Is that a vintage piece or something Danie made? So bright and happy! If anyone knows where to find something like this (or have it made? Etsy?) please pass it on...Thanks! Heather
When you had your arms up saying 'hello DIY friends'... the colours on the wall behind you matched perfectly to make it look like you had colourful wings or something
This is perfect for my daughter. I’ll be creating a sewing space for her in my basement and I think I’ll add a pullout so the top can expand for cutting and pinning fabric

Oh my goodness! so amazing, I can see how Jess is super happy, it turned out incredible. Dani you are so amazing, you are such an inspiration and I really love watching all of your videos, you are such a creative person and you have so many awesome ideas and hacks, I am in the process of cleaning out and trying to makeover my living room space to more simple and more of the Asian vibe since I am half Japanese, getting there it is just a lot of work, especially the painting of the walls a white over old 70's paneling, but it has those ridges which gives it a cool vibe. Looking forward to your next video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

Omg Danie!!! That's so elegant!!!! The work table not visible till you see the chair!!! Credenza/ consol/ entertainment unit : it can b all those and more!!!
Wow, love how this turned out. I've been trying to find a midcentury sideboard for my dining room but they are so far out of my price range, especially in the length I want to get...let alone fitting them in my car. You've definitely given me some inspo to consider!
Kenobishark dodododododo !! So adorable and he loved it 💗, It turned out awesome...as usual .. you two are funny together and make a great working team !! Thanks dad for the wiring and I can't wait for your next video, stay goofy !! 💞
Spectacular result! Understand what you did in theory, but would never figure out which pieces of wood get cut and which stay the same. Probably would mess up aligning things and adding open shelving. The ONLY part I would feel comfortable doing is the staining, SO I'm glad this can be purchased or that there are people like you who someone could pay to do this. lol. Great job. Can't wait to see what you have in mind for the wall.
Ooo, you’ve given me an idea to place an electric fireplace in between the two pieces of cabinets! Though I’d have to make a cubby just for my cats to sit/sleep in. Thanks for this!
Looks beautiful! The only thing I would have changed is to use a thicker piece of material across the top. It would add visual interest and it will help to add structural support if you want to place something heavy on top like a dual monitor setup, etc.
So awesome! Dude! You are so cool. One of my favorite parts of the weekend is to sit in my front chair with coffee or tea and a dog on my lap watching your videos. The best!
Danie, I can’t tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS PIECE! I’ll be moving in a few months and most definitely will copy this idea. There’s no way I won’t - I’m sure I’ll be dreaming of this cabinet-desk-combo the next nights. Thank you so much! Love you!
I like that it is modular so it can be taken apart into smaller pieces to move it, and if she moves someplace with a smaller room, the center desk section can be reduced and still have room for a chair. Or even take out one of the open shelving sections. It's versatile, is what I am saying.

My current style is more acrylic and iridescent. So my design would use the open shelving look, but clear acrylic door protection. Damn cool project! And should be fairly easy for anybody to modify to their needs. I have one suggestion - drill the pocket holes on the other side. There's two reasons: First- the other angle will make sure the screws bite into more wood (Steve Ramsay recently did a short about this, incidentally) and hence give you more strength. And second- the holes will be out of sight even when the shelves are empty. The ones down low will be on the bottom and the ones up top get covered by the attached table top.
