@@kitenlovar699hi, só I have a question regarding your comment, I have a cheap one as well that I bought, those on the one dollar stores for Halloween and stuff, I wanted to style it but read you couldn't put heat in cheap wigs or they would melt, so.... How do you say it's a cheap one? Genuine question cuz I gotta cosplay for a convention soon and need to styke the wigs
@@inesaguiar3566 i'm not a cosplayer at all, but some rules of thumb: generally, the shinier and thinner (as in amount of hair wefts) it is, the cheaper it is. if a wig is too shiny, it doesnt look convincing as hair. there are ways to mattefy it, though. cheaper wigs also have a plastic of a lower melting point, so they will melt and burn more easily than better wigs, it's true. if you have a straightning iron that has heat settings, always use it on the lowest, and test the resistance of your wig on a weft at the very nape of the wig (that way if it burns or melts you can cut it off without much loss) once you got your heat settings tested and it came out ok, use a wig stand or a friends head to secure the wig!! dont try to style a loose wig, you'll just get frustated and possibly tangle the wig, specially if it's a cheap one. if you dont have any hair stuff that will style the wig, try using two buckets: one with ice cold water and the other with hot water, as hot as the wig will take (that should also be tested.) that technique is used to style doll hair, the hot water changes the wefts into the shape you want and the ice water will set it in place. google around before you do anything.
@inesaguiar3566 if you want to style a wig your best bet is to just get one from an actual pricier cosplay-specific stores unfortunately. You can try character wigs online, but you may not be able to use heat with them. A dollar store or halloween store wig isn't good enough quality in fiber or fiber density to style.
Omg, I was just thinking about cosplaying Gorou. Every time I go to buy a wig, it's unstyled, and I could never find a styling tutorial I liked! I'll be sure to use this video when I get it! Thank you!
I’m a cosplayer who use synthetic wigs but what I do is dampen the hair put a tiny bit of gel and hair spray then store it upside down til it’s dry to add volume and to make shorter wigs look more natural
I’m going to a comic con in about 2/3 months, just saving some videos for when my cosplay arrives and honestly, this is the best tutorial I’ve seen. Thanks!!
Can you please make a tutorisl on how to make a wig smaller?? Like a cheap cosplay wig. A lot of these tutorials on youtubes wig dont look the same as mine
So I wanna cosplay angel dust, and I’m wondering how I’m supposed to get the hair to stick up/out to the side like his does? My wigs are struggling and I’m trying I’ve watched like 4 tutorials today 😭
What brushes/combs would you recommend. If I don't have a crimper would a normal flat iron on low work as a heat source, and what brand of hairspray have you found to work best
something else you can do to volumize shorter wigs is to take them off a head and hold them upside down and blast steam on the inside with a plastic-headed steamer
Hey! So I am a young cosplayer and I’ve heard lots of infamous things about Hatsune Miku wigs and tangling, I have 1 coming in the mail and one that arrived! My question is what’s the best way to prevent wigs from tangling? I’ve heard about crimping, silicone spray and stuff but what do you think would be good?? Also another question, my friend gifted me a Kokomi wig but the ponytail is very dreaded and tangled, I’ve struggled a lot trying to get it u tangled and the knot is the size of a pancake 😭- what’s a good way to get wigs untangled? 🥺 Sorry for typing a lot, I am trying my best to improve in the wig department 🫠
I have a bit of an issue with buying a wig that had been prestyled but the bangs are way too huge but im wayyyy too nervous to try and restyle it myself but theres literally no videos on restyling previously styled wigs from what i could find
In absence of knowing what products was used to style, you can try getting the bangs wet and comb through it. There's tutorials on how to cut bangs on a wig.
can i brush out synthetic wigs? this is ny first ever wig and im terrfied to mess it up, i just want to brush it out will i rip out any of the hair and like make it go bald
I bought a curly wig to cosplay a character with straight hair because there were no other options, It's an incredibly long wig, how would you recommend I straighten it out?
if its a cheap wig made of plastic u prolly shouldn't straighten it with a hot straightner, instead heat it up just a little bit, so u don't burn ur wig (don't forget heat protectant spray). Alternately, you could also bathe ur wig in boiling water then leave it to air dry.
@@ozzy_toast7702then you probably should be okay to straighten it, id soak it in fabric softener first for about a day and then let it dry just to soften up the wig a bit and then you should be good to go ^^
Well as an experienced cosplayer for my wig when I was new , instead of washing try just using a comb (NO NORMAL BRUSH WILL RUIN WIG) and detangle spray and watch a tutorial 😊
If you’re absolutely crazy, get posca markers and go paint marker the whole wig. It might work, but dark green to blonde is a lot of lightening. For me I only did it to get a dark red wig more of an orange-ish color because of color difference on the website i purchased it from and the actual product i got.
what I usually do is backcomb the hair (its gonna look really messed up, but just trust the process!!), hairspray it from about 2ish feet away(most people use got 2b glued, but I use normal hair spray and it seems to work too), give it a minute to dry, apply heat(either with a steamer, hair dryer, or what I do is put my hair strightener on the lowest setting, and then close it on the hair for like two seconds (like if you were to strighten it, but just open the strightener rather than moving it down), wait a minute or two for it to cool down, and then comb it out
You have actually demystified some of the trickier arts of wig styling for me, thank you so much
What wig did you use?
Like cheap or expensive and what material?
i think it’s just a regular synthetic wig
definitely cheap synthetic wig

How does the wig stay on the mannequin?
How do you store them ? Is any precaution needed to don't screw them up ? (I've never had a wig before but I want to)
I personally store mine either on wig head (what the wig is sitting on.) or carefully in a sealed plastic bag.

I have a deku wig but I wanna make it blonde to cosplay tweek from south park what do I do
Trying to bleach or color a wig on your own is a bad idea and will normally damage the wig or not work at all, I would recommend buying another one

wb when you dont have cramping iron
how’d you make it stay in the mannequin head ?
You can stab sewing pins through the wig into the mannequin head, it doesn't damage the wig at all and shouldn't move around
Is taht a gorou wig?
