This kind of pulled up wig is an intermediate wig styling technique. For beginner wig styling and a simplified version of this ponytail tutorial w/o the pulled up section check out our other ponytail tutorial here! • Cosplay Wig Styling - ...
If you would like to learn more about wig styling check out our cosplay wig styling book - kinpatsucosplay.com/product/w...
Materials:
-Base wig - Viktor in pure white from Arda wigs
-Ponytail - Delilah in pure white from Arda wigs
-Batting
-Rit synthetic Dye - Kentucky Sky and Royal Purple
-Worbla thermoplastic
-8 gauge aluminum wire
-25mm PVC pipe
-Insulation foam board - 1 inch thick
-got2B hairspray
-hot glue
-Createx airbrush paint
-2mm EVA foam
-Yaya Han oil slick fabric ( hairband )
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- The Viktor wig can be substituted with a Jeanie wig instead. The Jeanie is a ponytail wig with no lace front.
- You can use any wig to make a pulled back ponytail, but you will need to alter the wig and sew in additional wefts around the edges to get the wig to go upwards and hide the mesh
- You can also use Ponytail clips or a bag of wefts instead of cutting up a wig for the ponytail. Whatever suits your needs!
- If you don't want to use thermoplastic for the frame you can also make it from wire or any other rigid material that will keep its shape.
- If you are dying a wig make sure that you check if it is heat resistant first and what temperature it is rated for. Lower quality wigs may not be able to withstand being boiled.

and hairspray a LOT of hairspray
I don´t do cosplay so I never really realized how much work cosplayers need to put into their costumes. I´m impressed!
Same!
Oh yeah they definitely put a crap ton of work into their cosplay. It's an amazing art, so when I hear people making negative comments about cosplayers it just reminds me of how they might not know how much effort and time and technique goes into ones cosplay and it just irritates me
Yeah I do cosplay and it takes about 1 to 2 months to finish a cosplay costume.
Not trying to take away from how hard cosplayers work, but you have to remember kinpatsucos is a professional cosplayer. People who sculpt wigs are typically a very niche part of the cosplay community.
Cos-makers are definitely more technical and some have better craftsmanship than others. That being said, there are plenty of seamstresses and MUAs that do cosplay as well. And there is no harm buying cosplay either because it still takes skill to style wigs, do makeup, and make the outfit itself actually look good.
Point being, not everyone is out here making wigs like this. It is actually pretty rare. But there are plenty of prop makers and a huge part of the community that makes their own cosplay
TLDR; this would be considered an award-winning cosplay, or professional cosplay. All cosplayers put in hours into their cosplays but kinpatsu does it full-time
Artists: "Hah, I'll give her hair a nice gradient with a short whip of my stylus!"
Cosplayers: "oh no you didn't."
* proud artist sounds *
As both an artist and cosplayer, this is a mood
as an artist and a cosplayer, THIS IS WHY I DONT DO THAT!
As both an artist and cosplayer, I get into fights with myself designing characters. It goes:
Cosplayer me: that is so impractical and would be way too hard to make into cosplay! Change it and be reasonable!
Artist me: BUT IT'S PRETTY~
😂
Omg this is so awesome. Today i decided to Start with Seraphine and had no idea how to make the Wig. Thank you so much! 💕
Enjoy crafting 🥳💕
Same but with Akali lol
You did a good job ❤ Looks awesome
Finally a Sera cosplay that doesn’t look like bell delphine
RIGHT!!! I’m gonna use this for Halloween next year and do a drag version of shera
Tbh. Bell delphine looks exactly like seraphine so I dunno if it should be considered cosplay XD
HAHAHHA IKR
@@Mx.Lovill epic!!
belle delphine is shit XD idk why people say its her, its not, its a pop star in a kpop band lol

This whole tutorial is great, but I just want to give you a big specific compliment: It is AWESOME that you display so many of your items on a cutting board with measuring lines! I've been able to use your exact measurements while following this tutorial and it's a huge help.
It's Beautiful, can you imagine if Hextian or other custom doll artist use this technique on a custom doll? That would be incredible, keep up the great work. :)
I'm stealing this lol
That's such a good idea ! They need to see this !
lil tip! for teasing the hair you might need to tease the wig with hairspray on the brush or comb! then add more hairspray and use a hairdryer THEN brush it out lol its work well on more plastic-y or cheap wigs
What about her props like the back crystals I haven’t seen those done yet
I'm sure it could work with a similar system as shown in Kinpatsu's K/DA Kai'Sa Tutorial :)
Yes it would be exactly the same as Kaisa and you can even cover them on vinyl like ahris tail :3 the Kaisa gem pattern will even work for them too! Just need to enlarge them a bit 😁
@@KinpatsuCosplay I'm really looking forward to the Seraphine's mic tutorial
@@yukdotpng1512 Ainlina on Instagram already modelled the micro for Seraphine, i don't know if she can sell only the model she does or only the full impression (I mostly see her full impressed pieces) but her mic is really cool !
@@KinpatsuCosplay oh ok cool thank you
Omg I’m actually planning my Seraphine cosplay and I was just watching your old ponytail wig tutorial. Thank you so much for this video its super helpful! 💕
You and Lighting cosplay are legends!!!! Your an inspiration. I literally cried every time you create a masterpiece! Thank you!
I don't know why, but i can't stop watching this tutorial! This wig look soo pretty! It reminds me about your tutorial for making big ponytails. I love your videos. When i watch them i feel like i can do anything! Thank you for your tutorials ♡ You make fantastic cosplay! I love them!
This is the most impressive ponytail wig I've EVER seen and I can't thank you enough!! It was so cool seeing how something like this is done. I may never make this specific wig, but thank you for the knowledge!
As a Hairstylist, I’m totally blown away by you! You are so incredible. Thanks for sharing
Daamn you always deliver such a smooth result, absolutely gorgeous :D
I used the ponytail tutorial from your wig styling book for a character with MASSIVE pig tails (Ashley from the Wario Ware games), and it made the whole project so much more manageable :D
Wow! This has so much more Detail then the original ponytail tutorial! so helpful 💙
Thank you! Just thank you!😭 I am not cosplaying this character, but this will help me with the wig of another! Ive never actually attempted one of these exaggerated wigs, but now ive got the confidence!
Although I don't do cosplay, I love cosplay tutorials because they are just fascinating to watch! Massive props to you, your craft is incredible! And your work station/process is soooo clean and precise.
So satisfying! I always love Ponytails, Seraphine has my fav hairstyle of ALL TIME!
This is perfect for a cosplay I'm working on, thanks! Great tutorial as always.
Wooooow this is amazing, this’s art pure.
Omgg its amazing how much work and commitment you must have to make these. As long as you having fun and love what you do. Respect!!
I don’t know what on earth makes me think that I can make this myself before clicking the video.. but this video turns out to be purely awesome. Def deserve a round of applause for your talent!
Omg yesssss. Had trouble making Kai'sa's wig so definitely gonna try this method for the base
I am so glad that I stumbled across this video, because I'm currently working on a costume that has a crazy ponytail and I was terrified to touch the wig. The last ponytail wig I did had metal cross frame and a screw through the ponytail to hold it up and it hurt like mad. This is brilliant and this is going to be so useful!
Cosplay is nuts! This is amazing!
I’m obsessed with this. I needed a gravity defying ponytail tutorial for a Red Son cosplay and I’m SO HAPPY I found this.
This is an amazing tutorial! I've been trying to figure out a secure way for my Fran from FFx12 and this will be perfect! Thanks so much for the detailed tutorial! ♡
This is such hard, creative & amazing work 😳 Thank you for this & lots of fun & all the best to everyone making auch a wig 💕

And I thought Drag Queen wigs were complicated. This is insane!! So cool and definitely worth it though 😍
this is amazing!!!
You are literally a wig wizard omg
Holy crap, I thought wigs like this were done with just the wig itself and putting simple stuff in but noo it’s so much work. Cosplay is a lot of hard work sheesh
So many great tips in this! Thanks!
Gosh that's good. So inspiring!
Bookmarking this for my eventual ponytail She-ra cosplay

I never though a wig can be a work of art !
This was so cool and informative! I'll be doing this trick for all of my cosplay wigs from now on!
This is Art 😱
MOST DEFINITELY a REAL FINE and beautiful cosplay wig, no doubt. 😉👌
Wooow really awesome work ❤️
so yea childeren thats how ariana grande does her ponytail-
Om-
With H O T G L U E
🤣🤣🤣🤣
So she needs a tube to do her hair?
Doing such a high and thick ponytail with wigs is probably actually better than how she does it. Hairline will recede eventually 👀
this is so underrated! thank you for the tutorial~ but this will be so heavy when you wear it xD
Its so well done 😳😳
fabulous!
This channel should have millions of subs
I hope u can make the seraphine wings or seraphine's diamond in behind her back. It's difficult to make the pattern and how to make it as her wings it's too complicated for me. I hope you can make it as simple as you can. It's so usefull, and I hope you get the sponsor from riot to make this projects. Thanks
It's beautiful.
