You do realize when they get flipped down they still stick out the same length you do realize this right

Lookin for one of my own. Plan on doing a full delete of everything including the EGR and DPF bullshit. I'm thinking a 4 to 4.5 inch straight pipe to dual smoke stacks outta the bed behind the cab. Have to research the best exhaust diameter for fuel efficiency and power gains.

Sounds like a great build brother! I have been pleased with the raceme turner and, the five inch turbo back exhaust.

With a turbo diesel you not saving much anything with a 4 inch or 5 inch downpipe back, it's up pipes and down pipes that will change everything

@@nativeoutdoors1780 science dictates otherwise. Gases already want to go out and up and having smoke stacks does that perfectly. Why do you think semi trucks do that? Do you see a diesel locomotive doing that having a bunch of pipes going all over the place? My truck will be a 4 inch down straight out to 4.5 inch smoke stacks. This will help the motor breathe better once I fully delete it cuz f*ck communist emissions bullshit. I'm also eliminating the grid heater so I don't have to worry about the killer bolt that could happen. Only other thing I need to do is upgrade the transmission valve body for better capabilities.

@ChargerusPrime semis do that to clear your load so it doesn't get soot all over it. Why do semis have two smoke stacks? Shouldn't one do the job? Having two is for aesthetics, same with smoke stacks now days.

@@nativeoutdoors1780 completely INCORRECT. You know nothing about diesels. With a diesel engine, you have a VASTLY higher compression ratio than a gasoline engine, thus you need better air flow and to get that you need vacuum. A larger diameter exhaust is mandatory and having 2 different diameters of pipe creates just the right amount of vacuum to add extra horsepower and torque because the engine sucks more air in and forces the exhaust gases out more efficiently. Having 2 smoke stacks allows the exhaust gases to flow out at a MUCH higher rate and allows for slightly higher vacuum pressure to do so. It also has another benefit; lower exhaust gas temperatures which is also a major benefit for creating more power, also reduces overall wear and tear to an extant. And yes, it does keep soot off of loads, but there's FAR more than just that with smoke stacks. I plan to use my truck for hotshot work as well as better fuel economy which having better flow does in fact increase.

[by, doing this you have no back pressure and gain 70 to 80% more horsepower]👍

I couldn't get my '06 Dodge Ram 1-ton into that parking garage.
There's no way I'd be able to clear the roof if he's barely making it out.
