Huge respect to both of you. No trash talk, true sportsmanship, Loved every bit of it and great follow-up reflection on lessons learned and I believe you gained a lot from the match and you did great! Love how Engin and your channel are growing the sport of armwrestling. Kudos to both of you :)
It seemed as if Engin was i a perfect legal WAF position and has developed static power in that legal position. If so its smart, being powerful in a position that the referee helps you to stay in. That simplifies what a person needs to train.
Hi Ray! I think you showed how strong Engin was more than you showed yourself to be weak. I would have like to have seen you do more, but it was also great to see Engin be a legend. 🤗
Good morning bud hope you had a great trip back home and thank you for sharing your journey , also I can’t wait to watch and train at the same time with your videos coming up
@harivenables8047yeah he did soooo bad losing to… a world champion many times over and absolute legend of the sport. He went in, gave it his all, and learned from it. He did great.
I remember watching and thinking a lot of those pins weren't to the pad. Can we get some pads that LIGHT UP when you touch them? I think that'll eliminate a lot of questions. That said, it was inevitable regardless. Engin was a beast, but you learn from your losses right? If you sit there and just complain and make excuses, you block any room for growth. Love the positive attitude, that's how life should be. Live and learn and move on. Keep at it Ray! You always try your best and that's all people can ask for, regardless of who you face. Even if it's The Incredible Hulk.
You indeed were Student Ray against Engin but I love that attitude about you. That posture of learning from one of the best. Keep training and get stronger!
Engin showing again how important is to learn to pull properly and by the rules, and how worlds and not super matches nor local tournaments help you get there!
I just love Engin's setup. It's so clean that refs ignore him. Way better than arguing with refs and your opponent over position every single match, which must be mentally exhausting.
I agree....but see this is where it becomes ‘tactical’. At the highest level of every sport, the differences between winning and losing can be very small So guys purposely mess around in an attempt to put pressure and drain the opponent’s hand / fingers / positioning, to throw them off and tire them out sooner
One lesson would be, always go to video when pulling a fast puller that declares victory and moves away from the table in a millisecond. Nothing against Engin or any fast puller but that's a lesson I would learn
I felt like you were pulled alot off centre before the starts??Also alot of the pins didn't look complete would have been great to see a slowed down camera shot to confirm. Engin showed great strength no doubt though.
Keep at it GRASSHOPPER.... due diligence ,and training in time , az your mind growz with Armwrestlling you too😊 will surpass your master, 💪 but it will take time. 💯👍💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Coach Ray, tremendous effort! No shame in losing like that to Engin! How strong did Alexey Vevoda feel? I’m sure you were sore from your match with Engin but what insights can you share of pulling Alexey? I hear he’s in excellent shape
Arizona State is a really good tournament. There are lots of extremely good US pullers that turn out for that event. All the Utah guys show up, and lots of people fly in from all over the country. Also, the Latvians get to hang out at John's pool.
In my opinion Engin complained enough to the refs that they over pronated and over-extended your wrists and had favorable setups against you. It's ok to feel cheated if you actually were. Einstein once said that if you can't explain something simply you don't understand it. Can you make a video explaining y the shoulders need to be straight w o using vague terminology like bone-line and if you do, could you define what those terms mean as it relates to AW? I do think Engin had too much hand for you, but also think he's a bit of a whiner and don't think the athletes should even be able to talk to the refs. Let them do their already too difficult job w o being swayed by a complaining athlete.
What don’t you understand about why “the shoulders need to be straight”? It means the pullers’ shoulders each need to be in a straight line across the body, square to the edge of the table. That way it is completely even for both pullers. No one gets an advantage towards the direction of the pin pad, no one gets to have leverage for the direction they want to pull. It’s an equal starting point
@@Day-ZDuke Leverage is another one of those magical words people like to spout w o being able to explain leverages or how they are being used as an advantage in an AW match. How can someone possibly be closer to the pin pad if the hands start in the middle of the table? You do understand an outside move is outside cuz the shoulders typically go back and an inside move is inside cuz the shoulders typically move in? And how is this a fight sport if you can get help from someone(the ref)to fight your battle?
@@JonathanTylerTv ...I wrote “leverage for the direction they want to pull”...I didn’t indicate or imply it would make their hand closer to the pin pad You seem to be the one not understanding things. The “leverage” would come in the form of positioning their shoulders / body so they can more optimally assert the forces which drive the move they want to employ, whether it be inside or outside. It’s the fact that. When they start square to the table, it’s equal for both parties. Allowing carved / angled / whatever shoulder positioning enables them to more readily deploy their chosen tactics. And the opponent has less chance to interrupt the movements
@@Day-ZDuke Your channel is called Day-Z Duke? So listen here short shorts..Should the feet be square also? That way noone's taking advantage haha. Should Southpaws in boxing be forced to fight orthodox? You know if the rules started out that both competitors hands needed to be fully flexed in to start, the general consensus would be that that's the fair way of starting. You're not thinking outside the Box, which is fine and haven't given me any sensible reason why the shoulders need to be square. Or at least none that I understand no.
As a climber, so somebody who's not that big into armwrestling, the showing of the arm always feels like showing that you're kinda dumb.. It makes no sense at all, lol. Is that meant to impress anybody?
Then why are you here? Why comment? Are you asking why he's in a tank top? The dude's at his gym. He was probably working out. This comment is both useless and stupid.
This attitude is awesome, I'm a huge fan couch ray.

Student Ray, being humble and learning from defeat. Great match for you to start to take your game to the next level!
Lessoned learned, you didn't have the Jedi in your corner 😊

You did well coach! Great job! We'll take it one day 💯🔥
Hope so!

@oldfashnd7237 what did he learn? To juice or juice harder? Coach Ray beat Bowen and his ego inflated for no reason.
You are a great armwrestler my friend I wish you only the best safe travels much love from Ohio UsA.

Yoda humbled the young coach and made him a student for a day.

No worries ray you have a looong career ahead of you 👍
His pins were so fast.
walking is recoverymode, active recovery is better than just laying or sitting is. :)

I wanted it to be a war and even if you had lost, i wanted you to shock him and the world a bit. Either way, great effort. Awesome job either way.

See you guys in AZ!!!
I think the lesson we all learnt from this:
- Double-chined, fat Ray is way to go!
when a puller is as fast as engin seems you need to either be faster or be way stronger statically
I felt like you were pulled alot off centre before the starts??Also alot of the pins didn't look complete would have been great to see a slowed down camera shot to confirm. Engin showed great strength no doubt though.

Off to Canada with Sandris train with Devon and the Team there
Devon is the sushi king of Canada and the buffet king of Dubai ! 🙄🤦🏽♂️🤣
Age is just a number in arm wrestling
Perfect set up can not beat Engin, you need strong side and wrist pressure bro.
yeah
i am pretty sure it worked like you say.. still.. i think you could had little more power to just make his life little harder
Beerman said he would smoke ur ass Ray.
Beerman is mentally challenged.
You need more hook power
First 😳
You beat Bowen and got a little cocky, humble up.
Ask Janis, he loose so many time against Engin... It was the nightmare of his arm wrestling career to fight Engin ! 🤣🤣🤣
u need to work on ur start, after engin hits, ur hits land.
Increase your dose and train harder. It is what it is.
What's with all the Eastern pullers going to Arizona state for? To pick on American amateurs more? Don't you think there's plenty of that already? 😂
Prob to hangout with John

Student Ray my friend not coach
John Brenzk did not lose wrist to Engin at 56 years old. Dude is not human at all lol
