The WEIRDEST TAIL on any Skateboard!

  • After riding the Antihero Green Giant deck for a few weeks I wanted to try a similar shape that Heroin Skateboards make, which is this 9.8" Stingee Thingee Deck
    This was also the first time experimenting and re drilling my wheelbase to extend it longer.

    I noticed that spin tricks popped better off the shovel side, and flip tricks off the rounded end. GL with the madness

    • @LeonPaxton
      @LeonPaxton  4 месяца назад +1

      I noticed that too and there is less chance for your board to flip when you don't want it to (trying 360 shuvs & big spins) since the tail is more flat and less rounded!

    14.58" Wheelbase
    6.75" Tail, 7.2" Nose , you could put the trucks way up the nose to make a 15 inch wheelbase because its so big and has a lot of flat on it.

    I’m going through the same wheelbase madness right now lol 6”4 been skating for 20 plus years been on 8.75 since 2016 and have skated nothing but polar and quasi in that size but they all have had 14.375-14.5 wb, so i tried a 8.75 Brian Anderson anti hero which has the 14.62 wb which feels perfect but having the same problem with the tail feeling too short. ESP with thunder 151’s my 360 flips suffered the most. The tail is supposed to be 6.68 but I measured it and it’s about 6.5 with a 7.25 nose. Still searching for a 14.75 wb with a longer tail instead of nose. My other setup is a 8.38 krooked with 14.25 wb and 6.75 tail and my flip tricks all pop and scoop so much better but I lose the comfort of the 8.75 because I wear a size 12 👎 also that back tail shuv was excellent lol

    • @LeonPaxton
      @LeonPaxton  4 месяца назад

      Oh dude, that madness is real! Yeah I can see that actually, your 360 flips would take more effort now with a longer wheelbase. I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard that some April boards come with a bigger tail than nose and a lot of their riders even skate their boards backwards because they want the bigger kick at the front 🤔

    Hi Leon. We chatted in comments about sizes. I'm comming to the same conclusion as you, and I'm gonna try to recreate a 1991 board. Not trying to reinvent the wheel so to say, and just make what they invented moving away from vert and adding a nose to boards. Do you have any insight what Jason Lee skated in blind video days? His smooth relaxed style is definitely also down to the setup for sure. Quick research it's a kicktail 9.7 board, but what about wheels and trucks? Looks like wide venture highs :) ruclips.net/video/shKJ3kcSkh0/видео.html

      @@LeonPaxton Definitely. His lazy looking pop shovits too. I don't think it's the same brands we have today though, but i think your setup there is pretty comporable and they rode some hard 56mm wheels i believe. What size truck are you using? I think it's much to do with that too. A nice wide one that almost fits the board width is the way to go i think. And then just a big wide board with a long nose and tail like how it didn't work when you made the wheelbase longer, because the length of the tail and whole board adds stability much more so than caring too much about wheelbase
      Edit: Some more info i found if you're interested :)

    • @lopwidth7343
      @lopwidth7343 4 месяца назад

      @@LeonPaxton Yeah i found some measurements on his pro model and what they recommended. Seems like older brands and looks like maybe an older indy truck. Maybe stage 4 166s. Since they would probably fit perfectly on the back 8.875" but the hangar looked much thinner than stage 4. Apart from you chasing a longer wb, you're pretty much riding close as can get to this with current brands and parts :) But i wanna add i think wb is only about how it turns. The stability is all about total length and nose and tail length. That 7" nose and 6.5" tail is definitely on the long side and must feel great and stable.
      Edit: I wanna ride your setup if i can source the parts. You're already riding those stage 4s and that board is pretty much the same stock :o
