I've been using Deck Rails for over a year and a half now and my skating has improved SO MUCH over this time The main purpose of Deck Rails is to help you slide faster, longer and smoother on any type of board slide variation BUT there are SO many more benefits that come with putting these little plastic strips on your board Use code 'WAXTON20' for 20% off Charlie Horse Wax below 👇🏽 www.charlie...

Who keeps building these 'Skateparks'?
it looks like a giant fingerboard because of the shape
I remember when there was a cinderblock ledge under that bridge. Many good skates were had there.
What is the location of the car park and bridge?
Nice vid bro
Yes Leon. Today is that day!
Are the rails and pole jam always here or do the skaters bring them over
People bring them. The bushes near the creek aren't great to hide them in due to snakes.
Your board control is next level

What’s your go to undercover skate spot?
I have a local park and ride. It's fairly secluded.
What trucks size did you use for that board?
Epic!!! Nothing under 9.125 in my quiver :) Mikey... sunscreen.... :)
after a 10 year break, I changed from a 7.75 because I had small feet, to a 8.5 cuz now I wear 12.5 and I’m taller, I feel it gives more balance.
Yeah dude, 8.5” would be way more suited to you now 👌🏽
Leon, you should be like a therapist for skaters! You make stuff make sense. If that makes sense!?
I don’t know about being a therapists but I’m definitely happy to help lol
@LeonPaxton well you're definitely helpful. Thank you from the great state of Kentucky!
Just got into skating and bought a cheap deck with 50s. I can tell straight away they won't be great for me whilst I'm practicing and building experience. Have gone all the way up to Venom 99a 60s. I'm mostly skating street, and learning transitions, so I think these will be great for now. Maybe drop down a little once I'm more comfortable.
Yeah dude, 60 is pretty big but would definitely be super comfortable to ride for sure!
Badass skatepark out there better than some of the park here in my area in cali.
We’re getting so spoilt over here!
Canleyvale folks got lucky, Super Cool T - Shirt by the way 👍
Thanks dude! Yeah they’re so damn lucky with this one 👌🏽
I mean I already know wider is better but I’ll watch anyway!
Haha thanks legend!
👍
I assumed the standard skateboard was symmetrical. The shape is the same both ends.. Am I being dumb haha
A lot of people do but the nose is always slightly bigger than the tail on standard decks
I just put together an 11 inch Godzilla Destroyer , with Indy 215,s , Bones Swiss Ceramics with 64 powell Dragons 🐉 🐉 I am just about to take it out on its First Shake down cruise , Should be really interesting , I'm over 6ft and over 100 kg so I needed something pretty BIG lol🤣💦👍 looking forward to it
That setup sounds sick man!
@LeonPaxton lol 🤣👍 Cheers mate , I'm just waiting for the weather to improve , gotta break in the trucks and bearings , Should be rather quick
Yeah hopefully doesn’t take too long but it’ll be so fun!
Mini lip trick awesome.........
So bullshit for us older skaters 30+ we had no good parks growing up 😂 the best were Waterloo or go street. I’m jealous of what kids have now but also happy to see them getting so good
I know right, I pretty much grew up at a BMX park 😂 Oh well, better late than never I guess lol
Can you do more tutorials and product reviews? You have so many skate parks dude. We have like 2 here in Vancouver, Canada. Everything has been closed or demolished.
Sure can man! What tricks have you been working on and need help with?
@LeonPaxton 360 flips man. You have it on lock. I used to have them. But i've lost them.
I’ve been meaning to make a videos about the flips actually! I’ll start working on it soon 🤝
@@LeonPaxton Thanks man. I am on a bigger board now thanks to you. I went from 7.75" to 8.8. 14.25 WB. I can still do everything on it. Creature VX. They have some wide ones if you get tired of the eggs. Heroin should send you a box for all the advertising you do for them.
I haven’t actually tried a VX deck yet so I should suss them out 🤔 Haha that would be amazing! Maybe one day something can happen 🤞🏽
Love your videos mate. Just bought a 10.25” Heroin Holo eyeballer deck. I ordered some lil jawns katanas that should make the board look amazing. Im also tall like you and im around 92kg.
Thanks dude, appreciate that! Damn that's going to look sick!!!
The heaviness is why I went back to 8.38. Couldn’t get it in the air
I skating 8
No hate bro but haven't you made this exact video like 5 times? lol
Similar but I usually have more info to add lol
I’d love to see a setup video from you if you ever had the desire to produce that. Id be excited to see what you’re actually enjoying the most. Trucks, wheels, bushing. Durometers, sizes etc. Great video as always. Cheers!
Thanks dude 🙏🏼 I can definitely do that! I keep swapping between set ups but I can set up a brand new complete and talk about why I choose what I choose 👌🏼
Homie, I'm 49 today. I just got back to skating a year and a half ago after a 30+ year hiatus. I tried the skinny popsicles and I fractured my humerus within the first month back. Wide board means more stability. I had no problem with rails or ledges back in the day. I'm still trying to reach the height of my ollies from 30 years ago..... Slowly. But I bought a Roskpopp Kaiju deck and it's 10.12 inches wide and it's not that much heavier than my 9.3 Dressen deck. Or it doesn't feel that much heavier. Aight then ✌️🤙✌️
Hell yeah, happy birthday 🥳 That's a sick board man! Just stay consistent and you'll get it all back eventually 🙌🏼
@LeonPaxton hey thanks and I will for sure!
@@BrianPayne-ef6kn epic that you have a Dressen ... i have 2 now... such as great shape!
@bennyg949 yeah homie, Dressen's a badass! He's like the Moses of skateboarding. And to still be shreddin' all over the globe is just proof of the man's dedication to the life. We're ALL better for having a dude like him around. Dig?
@ 100% factually correct
"I just set up this MASSIVE skateboard" do you know what else is MASSIVE?
What?
@@LeonPaxton low taper fade
I rather my boards be small but I will have a secondary board that much wider.
That's also a good option!
... Says the FUCKING GIANT!!!! ha ha ha ha ha! Oh Leon, you make me laugh..This videos title for me is "Why You DON'T NEED a Wider Board" cos you probably couldnt even lift it, let alone ride it..
Heroin eggs are the best decks ever created I have a 9.5” and absolutely love it and also looking at going up to 9.75” or 10” so fun to ride and incredibly stable
Agree! Those are the 3 sizes I keep alternating between 👌🏼
Man I’m 41 now. I still skate a 7.75 I can’t do anything bigger just feels huge haha
Haha that's all good, whatever works best for you 👌🏼
My 9.2 got called a boat at the park. I was like dude im thinking of going to a 10, would that be a yacht?
Hell yeah 😂
I guess so 😂
10 inch boards and slip ons for me too
That's the combo 👌🏼
I can't skate much anymore, I break bones too easily(30 bones in 27 years) but I fingerboard to keep the brain fresh and I have a normal popsicle board and an egg board, and the egg board is so much more fun. Also I love the aesthetic , skateboards dont seem to have toooo much room for innovation so I love to see unique boards getting a good run.
Same bro. Im 31 and no longer skate due to so many health issues, some from skating, some not And fingerboarding is such a good outlet
Damn that sucks man! At least you're still involved in skateboarding in some way though 🙏🏼
Gr8 Vlog- I am still riding my WIDEBOY and love it, makes everything alot better shredding fast like Chico Brenes. Makes tricks more challenging and legs strong , once u jump back on a regular 8 inch popsicle deck feels like feather.😊
Thanks dude! That's true, it's like weighted training lol
You get used to the weight. Just look at ‘80s skate videos, dudes cracking ollies over fire hydrants and backside flipping up steps on boards the size of coffee tables with 60mm wheels
That's so true!
All i skate is transition. Thanks to your channel i found out about the Smokebeer 10" popsicle. I love it. Wish id have bought it years ago
Oh sick, that board is so good! I actually forgot I had it lol
What trucks are you running on that? I find the Heroin eggs are like a quarter inch shorter than the size over the wheels.
I've got 9.5" Ace AF1 hollows that fit perfectly since this board is exactly 9.5" over the trucks 👌🏼
this dude let me try out his size 9 board at the skatepark once and my backside 180s were so much higher
What size do you usually ride?
@@LeonPaxton at the time it was a 8.125. I'm at a 8.25 right now but im definitely considering 8.5 even with all the double flips or more techy tricks i do. I think 8.5 might be the perfect balance
8.25 is the best size for me it's got games it's not too wide for techy Sk18
I don't understand. How wide is wide?
The industry average is 8" to 8.5" but it's been that way for years lol
Where can I buy good egg wider boards ?
Your local skate stores should have them man 🙏🏼
@@LeonPaxtonif only they had egg boards at my local shop. The people that work there dont even skate.
I actually went from 8.5 back down to 8.25. 8.5 was just too much board to flip around. I'm also 5'4" so that definitely doesn't help lmao
That's true! 8.25" might be the key then 👌🏼
getting a 9.125 to start on today, size 13 flat feet gang
Hell yeah, that's perfect!
I’m at 8.75 now and loving it. I’m going to keep moving up. I have size 14 feet so the wider the better haha😂
Hell yeah, wider boards are a must for a size 14 lol
I am a size 14 too and I only ride 9.5 or bigger I have a 9.6 and 10
Can't get enough of my 10" pop. I'm not a very technical skater so slower flipping isn't really an issue. Like you said it's so nice to have a lot of board to land on.
I might have to break out one of my 10" popsicles and have a session now that I'm skating 10' eggs more often!
I got the anti hero horse pill (10") for slappies and coping dance type skating but still ride 8.25-8.38 for flip tricks. surprisingly I can get pretty tech on the big board
Oh sick! I've been thinking of getting that board but I already have 2 10" popsicles that I barely ride already lol
