I skated in Sydney in the early 90’s, in terms of skate parks, all there was Kerle Park at Manly, The Snake at Dulwich Hill, and Fairfield (which had an entry fee). How times have changed!
This gipps street recreation precinct in Claremont Meadows opens 7 days from 6am to 10:30pm.After sunset flood lights are on 7 days.Lot of families enjoy at night too. I like playing there cricket, table tennis, basketball, net ball, fitness machines.Plenty of parking on park. Thanks to penrith city council.
Hell yeah this place looks awesome, I grew up skating Five Dock and their massive bowls so I can appreciate a tiny little bowl like that. Keen to get back into skating more often, my lung collapsed recently and it made me realise what's important in life and its obviously SKATEBOARDING and doing MORE of it.. Alongside study at least haha. Much love man!
I haven't been to Five Dock yet but I already know I won't be able to skate anything there 😂 Ih damn, that's gnarly dude! Stay healthy and keep shredding 🙌🏼
Those noodle rails look like a blast and I think I'd spend a whole day just on the slappy pad / granite slider combo thingy. your boardslide to tail tapper was noice Another great review!
This beats the most expensive skatepark record. SMP skatepark in China cost 37 million and Penrith 44 million. SMP was the most expensive skatepark ever built until Penrith.
Dang Leon, you live in basically California South with all those amazing parks in your area. Which durometer wheels work best for smooth slippery parks like this one?
Oh dude, we are getting way too spoilt out here thats for sure! I just use standard 99a man but something with a little wider riding surface for more grip 👌🏽
Hey Leon! I’m trying to get back into skateboarding after over a decade, and deck size was always an issue back in the day because of my large feet. I was wondering what size shoes you wear? I’m a size 13 trying to decide between an 8.75 or a 9 (skated once on an 8.5 and it was more comfortable than the smaller sizes, so hoping to find the perfect size soon),so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sick man, welcome back 🥳 I’m a US 11 and feel most comfortable and anything between 9.25” to 9.75” man so as a 13 I would recommend starting on a 9” for sure
@@LeonPaxton Thank you for the kind words, man, greatly appreciate it! I didn't even know there were normal shaped boards in the region of 9.75 (I'm assuming they're the same shape as the 8.25 but larger). Any specific brands you'd recommend for larger decks? I've watched your Heroin skateboard vids, you think a 9.5 isn't going to sacrifice accessibility (finding the right trucks and the like)? Keep up the great content, Leon, always inspirational, much love, bro!
Of course man, no problem 🙏🏼 I should have clarified that, I ride egg shaped boards but popsicle board sizes usually stop at a 9" lol Nah dude, the egg boards taper a lot towards the trucks so 9" trucks fit the 9.5" eggs perfectly 👌🏼 Thanks dude, appreciate that a lot 🤝🏽
The parks in SoCal look like bike parks now compared to Australia. 🇦🇺 crazy part is Australia is huge. How much Area are you covering to get to these parks? Hours? Days? lol 😂 What’s the radius of distance between some of these nice parks. Lucky devil. 😈 Great parks. Expensive prices for your gear. ⚙️ only draw back to skateboarding in Australia I see, you have to pay like almost double.
Dude this is all within the same state too! The furthest park was Umina and that was only 2hrs, the rest are all within a 1hr radius lol Yeah we are way too spoilt out here at the moment 😅
I live 10 minutes from the city in Sydney. It would take me 50 minutes to drive to this park. 2 hours on a train + bus. Though where I live you can hit 10+ skateparks within 15 minutes on public transport. Australia realised how good skateparks are to keep youth occupied.
44million sounds like a lot but looking at all the facilities thats going on in that precinct, looks like good money spent. When you tack on a skatepark into a community focused project like how they did here, its hard to get on the wrong side of the NIMBYs (who pretty much oppose all community projects). Good way to build a cohesive community beyond just skateboarders
Big bowl look weird with whole not needed hump, small bowl looks normal, that middle area with snake rails looks like some sort of pro zone, and actual skatepark is nice for ledge and plaza. The wide areas and hubas look cool, but kinda high. I guess it's 44 mil, right xD
I've met the lads at ConVics way back when. Legends they are. Im old skool big airl BMX so that park aint for me. But if that means getting fat kids off the Xbox I'm all for it
I know this is totally unrelated to your skate videos but are you and sean unuks related? i thought for a long time i've been watching only one peron cause you guys look so familliar
American government will get $5 million for a new skatepark, build a $250k pile of garbage, then just refuse to ever answer where the other $4.75m went. 😂
I am a street skater, and thats the first thing I thought of. Its a long flat in the middle, so just put down a hump to pump. Like you said, you don't want to take your foot off the board for a push. Especially since "transition" relies a lot on skating ambidextrous. That said, some of those humps ruined a couple of street parks by adding the feature. I had a local where they put one down before the manny/ledge box. So when you lined up to hit the box, you couldn't see it over the hump.
Is this the best new skatepark in Sydney now?
is it? you tell us haha
this park is crazy
@@skateboardstrength9834 It’s looking that way at the moment and I’m loving it lol

All good my man! We'll do it again soon 🤝🏽

Sick park! Quick q; What wheels & trucks do you skate nowadays?
Here I’m running 9” Ace AF1 hollows and 55mm Spitfire Lock ins but I’ve got new videos coming out soon of the new trucks and wheels I’m riding lol
What so is the 2 skateparks in Penrith now cos I only ever Kew of one only there?
This one is about 15mins away from ‘Jamison’ skatepark in Penrith
@@LeonPaxton ok mad that’s good to know thanks .
What’s your homies channel? Didn’t see a link

Just added his link in the description 👌🏽
thank you to both of you
Come up to Lismore in Nth NSW in a couple of months - they are getting an EPIC 3.5 million park , should be done hopefully by March/April 2025
Dude, that park looks insane! I'll definitely be making my way up there when that one is open 👌🏼
@@LeonPaxton sweet, see you there
I agree, I don't like the humps in bowls we find now! Im not a bowl or vert guy so maybe Im missing something!
Apparently it’s to pump over to keep your speed so you don’t loose speed on a long flat bottom
Which park is better: meadowbank or claremont
This one for sure dude!

Sydney parks are straight shitting on California parks🤦
Yeah we’re getting super spoilt over here!
44 mil of concrete hahaha. Someone is pocketing extra coin.
Wth how many skate parks does Australia have at this point California is looking like a joke.
Australia is apparently the skatepark capital of the world at this point judging from watching Leon’s channel 😂
I have 20 within a 30 minute drive it's crazy these days. I wish we had this many growing up
The thing is, Leon only covers Sydney! (He’s also covered a few a couple of hours out).
Yeah dude, all of this is only in one state too 😂
Yeah, all of these Australia parks make the parks here in Oregon look pathetic
Good video 👍🏿

It's my pet peeve to why oh why have woodchips it ruins a great park anywho rant ova, top shite Cobba keep on ripping....

Idk why street skater never gets it, humps are for pumping you don't want to push in a bowl just pump the hump to accelerate.

That makes sense! You can tell I don’t skate transition so I don’t know 😂
All that money and no vert??
