- Today we return to the tale of Circus Baby, one of Five Nights at Freddy's many 'first's. Their first talkative animatronic, their first new villain, their first... fumble? But Circus Baby recently got a new showing in Help Wanted 2, returning after a semi-hiatus. So... has she gotten better?

Ok but the sense of horror when you realize you HAVE to take the icecream easily outweighs any jumpscare. Then nothing happens, and that horror stays. If Baby had jumpscared us it would have been over, but she didn’t and we are left with a far greater horror
That's absolutely it. Reaching an ending or failure condition releases tension, whereas not doing so lets it linger and continue to build. For a series like FNaF, where a lot of the time there always has been a pretty definitive set of win and lose conditions - either you see whatever ending there is, whether it's a check or pink slip in the first game, or a cutscene in later ones; or you get jumpscared. This level not doing that adds more. And I think its name has something to do with that, as well - Baby is interviewing you, in her own way, likely having staged the lights going out herself, and you passing the interview means she wants to keep you around, and there's no telling what ends she's working towards.
I agree, that section was so good. I actually died the first time I beat the level because I didn't take the ice cream expecting a trap
not to mention cause of the whole “the games are games in universe” thing baby probably knows that whoever she’s taking to knows about what happened to elizabeth. she’s toying with us - scaring the player into submission while not being directly hostile.
If you take too long, then she jumpscares you, not with her claw but yk.
That's quiet horror right there. FNAF usually has a wealth of tension releases, be it the chime of 6 am or a jumpscare and a cut to static. Jumpscare horror like FNAF's usually tends to lead to bigger cash outs of player shock and horror, but less genuine dread and fear. Not to say that the games aren't scary, but the nature of the games doesn't lead itself to looming, lasting dread.
I think that that also goes to increase the impact of the moment. We're so used to an obvious attack or being baited that this seeming passivity is even more unnerving. We're so used to a release of tension in this series that a night just simply ending with no release is even more effective.

One thing I’ve noticed about Baby is she always goes out of her way to avoid being alone. In Night 2 she has the Bidybabs, in Night 3 she welcomes your presence and gives you access to her room as well as saving you when you get caught. In Night 4 she has you and Ballora there. In Night 5 she’s a part of Ennard. In TFC she’s always with someone else and will take excuses to not be alone, even if it means being around Afton. Maybe that’s why she planned to betray him by the end, she found another path by having a more human form
Maybe the reason she becomes more desperate and dependent for William’s approval is because she’s terrified of being alone again. Because as Elizabeth we never really see her with anyone else, she’s always alone. And now she’s avoiding isolation like the plague
Makes sense since Baby is programmed to attack when she’s alone with a child and that’s how Elizabeth died. Whether it’s Circus Baby’s perspective or Elizabeth’s, bad things happen when no one else is around.
@@SorowFame plus even as Elizabeth we only ever know her to be around Afton or on her own. No friends to note, not too strong a bond with her siblings, no mother. All she had was William and later his creations, would explain her desperation to be around Baby, she’s got nobody else.
Would also explain why she has a controlling nature and why on occasions like night 4 she can get… abrasive, lack of social skills that didn’t involve her father, a known manipulator, her brothers, a bully and a “crying child”. And now with her seeming personality issue (not being fully sure if she’s still Elizabeth) she basically clings to what she can even if she does so by controlling them.

Shit, Baby would be a really good Frankenstein’s Monster allegory. Someone that, since they were made, has been nothing but abused, and craves attachment, but can only communicate with violence and manipulation because that’s what it knows.
All of the poster art for Baby in universe has her with green eyes, dispite the fact she was made with blue eyes, with all of her key art for marketing material realistically being prepared before Circus Baby's even opened. This either means A. This is a funny continuety goof, or B. William saw that his daughter possessed Baby, and instead of doing anything about his dead kid he immediately went "Oh shit, not my marketing" and swiftly rebranded to accompany for Baby's new eyes.

The only reason i would go with option A is because i personally hc Henry being the greedy one who ended up influencing the future CEOs and natuee of Fazbear Entretainment as an extremly cheap company, while William was a shut-in who barely knew how to manage resources and din't care either

You know, I always assumed that the reason why Baby doesn't kill us when we take the ice cream is because we are just not a child.
She is programmed to kill kids this way but we are playing an adult here (probably Cassie's Dad). I interpreted her not attacking us this way as an element that was supposed to make you understand you played as an adult.
I always thought it was because we are either an adult or.... she saw a ghost behind us and her programming counted it as another person, which is chilling to think a ghost was looming over us, but not impossible in this franchise
I've heard theories that the reason why Baby is so aggressive during SL's night 4 is because that's not Baby at all, but Funtime Foxy using voice mimicry. Funtime Foxy was, after all, the one to bring you to that room, which connects directly to Funtime Auditorium - it would be a simpler part of the plan than having Baby there when she could be organizing the killing and hanging of the technicians, something which has to be happening at that moment as they are attempting to leave during that sequence and dead by the next night. It was just something to keep you busy while that was happening, raise the stakes a bit and make it seem like things aren't right so that the absence of Funtime Foxy and Ballora can be a mystery rather than something which might make the building keep their target from entering.
Also, for the Office: Job Interview level, I think its name is important. You're in the depths of the CBE&R facility, so you've already got a job there, and they wouldn't throw you in there to have Baby interview you to see if you're worth hiring anyways. This is _Baby_ interviewing you, and you succeeding at that interview means she thinks you're worth keeping around. That for whatever plan she's cooked up, you'll fit the role she needs.
it could be that baby is mimicing ol' daddy afton. if afton did bring his daughter to work with him she probably did watch him interview someone.
tbh i kinda see the night 4 thing as Baby knowing she has gained Michael's trust (somehow) and then getting aggressive so she later can manipulate Michael if he were to question her or something like that. like it's probably not that deep and it's probably not her abusing Michael to later gaslight him about it, but it would make for a pretty cool part of her motivation and an explanation for her actions if it WAS a thing she did

even if sister location’s gameplay isn’t the greatest, the story is AWESOME. circus baby in sl is such an effective villain- not to mention her voice lines are amazing! i get chills every time i hear her voice
i think making it so that we never have a direct encounter with baby in sl was a good choice tbh- us never actually encountering her makes her seem more threatening, almost like she’s hiding herself from us, or like she’s right behind us, waiting. it further sets her apart from the other animatronics, who the game presents as mindless predators

1. In job interview circus baby says that she likes it in the entertainment and rental facility and that it feels safe, but we know that she along with the others wanted to escape.

2. I think that Scott wanted to go back to the four-character formula of the original Fnaf games so Chica was scrapped in favor of the new female band members, Baby, and Ballora. However, interest in Funtime Chica led to her appearing in Pizzeria Simulator, and the rest is history!
3. Honestly, I agree. You know, I kind of wish Ennard himself was his own thing, because he's really cool but by being the whole band, you get stuck with a four in one deal.

Baby did want to escape the facility back then(and did), but everything since has changed her mind and now she's retreated into the network.
At least, that's what I think is going on. HW2 is what made me seriously wonder if CB has returned.

I never thought they all transformed into Ennard before. When she says “we’ve been out before” I assumed it meant when they were rented out. To me them all becoming Ennard then decommissioned and back into their original animatronics was weird to me.

If anyone would know how a daughter thinks and what she'd do, it would be her father.
That would mean that either he never meant for Elizabeth to be a victim or he absolutely wanted her to be the one to possess Baby.
And if he did, then think about for a bit. Not only is William morally bankrupt enough to kill children and commonly puts his employees in extremely dangerous situations, he truly believes possession and having remnant equals genuine immortality. And if he noticed the other animatronics following the puppet (Charlie), he might want to replicate that.
So why not choose a child he'd know for certain would be loyal to him and would do anything to make daddy proud.
@@mill2712 I can see that, but what if it was to protect her as well, not only would Elizabeth be the perfect follower due to her "daddy's girl" loyalty but she would be immortal and practically indestructible. In the storyline of the game, it's implied that her death came after her brother's, the crying child, and he was killed by a cruel prank their older brother caused. maybe William built Baby so it would be a surefire way to get his daughter back, sure he would have to kill her first, but unlike the crying child, her death would only be temporary, like getting your child sick with the chicken pox on purpose, sure your kid will get sick for a while but afterwards, they'll be immune to it and never get chicken pox again. This might be a hint of a similar thought process, sure Elizabeth will die and it will probably be an unpleasant death, but afterwards, she'll be indestructible and unkillable, he'd have his little girl to help his plans and follow orders and he'd never have to worry about something happening to her that would take her away from him.
"Michael can't *possibly* kill another of my kids if I do it first! Hey Elizabeth, you like clowns, right? Okay cool. What? Oh, no reason. Don't worry about it."
He would put charges against a clown robot for killing his golden child tho.
I know Scott said he wanted the books and the games to be separate canon, but that kind of doesn't work when either he (or someone else) keeps shoving references from the books into the games and vice-versa.

Imagine being Michael during the Ennard boss fight. Your trying to stop an amalgamation of the animatronics that you've been dealing with for past few night from entering your office and hold it off until 6am when help will finally arrive, when all of the sudden the voice of your loved one who died or went missing sometime before all this starts talking to you from outside the office, telling you that their still there, everything is ok, and to let them in.
The fact that Circus Baby is the same height as a Bionicle Toa is wild to me
I find it odd that in hw2, the bidybabs were shoved in Ballora's levels. Have you ever noticed that? As henchmen of baby, it's rather odd that they weren't used in baby's level but instead it's plushbabies again.
I am going to say it:
IT IS AN ABSOLUTE CRIME WE DIDNT GET A MINIGAME WHERE WE PLAY AS LEFTY TRYING TO CAPTURE THE PUPPET. Would've been such a cool minigame.
We could even swap perspectives, one minigame has Lefty trying to nab Charlotte, while in the other game, we're playing as her as she's trying to escape.
The way I understand the shift in character is that Baby is manipulative but calm and not super theatrical, while specifically Elizabeth is a broken, desperate for attention child who inherited William's bad tendencies while being subservient to him. If they are ever in flux of identity, different attributes and swings in personality could exist even if one or the other is more in control in certain instance.

One peculiar detail that may throw a wrench in the works: Baby's stomach fan. Perhaps it was for the ice cream cooler, but I think it was also to ventilate the stomach chamber so a kidnapped child could breathe. And I say "kidnapped" because that was Afton's goal in SL, to kidnap the kids and put them in his experiment dungeon, right? Now here's a critical turn of events: Circus Baby captures Elizabeth by accident, but by that point, Afton has coincidentally disappeared. Elizabeth is then trapped inside Baby while Baby is shipped back to the SL complex, and there she remains stuck inside Baby until she dies of thirst. Afton wasn't around to free her. This prolonged suffering is similar to how the original animatronics become possessed. I believe two factors lead to possession: Prolonged agony while trapped and dying alone, and not getting a proper burial. By the end of SL, Circus Baby may have been "cleaned" by the scooper but by that point it was too late and Elizabeth's soul was now possessing Baby. And with her remains being tossed in the trash or wherever, she wouldn't get a proper burial that could release her soul. (I keep reiterating the burial thing because Scott is a self-proclaimed christian and many christians believe the soul can't rest without proper burial) Take all this with a grain of salt, but I just don't think Baby's stomach claw was intended to kill the victim.
Damn she really said the truth when she said she's broken and can't be fixed.
What broke Baby? The Fourth Closet.
The way I took it, she wasn't really "cognizant" until she got Elizabeth. Still did those things cuz she was programmed to but also didn't really have a sense of morality due to being a newborn of sorts/robot. So by the time she understood it was bad/terrible, she probably didn't have any reason to regret or feel remorseful over it. Probably was just like a cat getting scolded over something- they're gonna do it again and they don't care. But she still had to learn to "pretend" to avoid the punishments which she didn't like.
The problem with baby after sister location is that they couldn’t have her being manipulative because we know she is and Michael did too, but the change in her personality is just not her. It could have easily just been her continuing to manipulate you in smaller ways as to still have a hold on you or her controlling things behind the scenes but they did so many things that she would never have done and, now there is a lot of people who just think about her as she acts in pizzeria simulator. I would know I was one of them until I found this channel and now I can say that *circus* baby is one of my favourite fnaf characters but only circus baby.
She could have even manipulated henry or even possibly William but no she goes from the one playing chess to a pawn and nothing more

Well it’s possible that meeting William may have caused more of Elizabeth to surface or maybe they one they ejected wasn’t Circus Baby but rather Elizabeth or maybe she decided to play the naive and obedient daughter in order to trick William there are potential explanations for her change in behaviour
My theory on Baby vs Scrap Baby and why they act so *different* is simple: Baby is controlled by her *programming* while Scrap Baby is purely controlled by *Elizabeth.* This would explain Scrap Baby’s loyalty to her father while the original Baby wanted to kill him. Basically what I’m saying is that Baby and Elizabeth are separate entities who just happen to be roommates.

Honestly Help Wanted 2 was just all around a really good game for the Sister Location cast which is really cool and hopefully Steel Wool counties this trend with the upcoming DLC for Help Wanted 2

The voice actress of Baby did such a good job about her voice.
Game baby: will gaslight you into her trap.
TSEBook baby: is very aggressive and probably will pour gas on you to set you on fire.
This is a very hot take about Baby but I think the change of the controlling manipulating and cunning Circus Baby to the devoted sad daddy issue's girl Scrap Baby makes sense, or at least to me.
Elizabeth is killed and trapped in a metal body of her killer, later on trapped underground and treated horribly, she finally had control she had control of the Funtime gang (Ennard) but then was kicked out, abandoned and left to rot with no one with her, all alone. Elizabeth and Circus baby already had a horrible life and now they're on the streets with no one, she's completely alone and no one wants her. Working with her father was a way to be wanted by someone to not be alone even though Baby hated him she had no one else.
And her going even more crazy and losing her manipulating persona to straight up psycho killer could have been her breaking down. Think about her kinda like Azula from ATLA (I'm hoping you watched that cartoon if you haven't she's just evil sister girl with fire powers and devoted to her father) Azula was basically used by her evil father, had no friends anymore and had no one, she then lost it had hallucinations of her missing mother, had eye bags cut her own bangs, had the whole joker looking lipstick and was ended up screaming and crying on the floor. This seems to be the same case with Elizabeth/Baby, she lost it she lost herself and her obvious killer nature is her not caring to keep the nice facade.
She also wants to be wanted because again she has no one, her being this crazy blood thirsty was for her father she's trying to prove herself.
Also Elizabeth could have a form of Stockholm syndrome to not only her father and Baby, Elizabeth chose to keep the Baby appearance even though she could have made any appearance with scraps yet she chose her killer as her appearance. Same for William she could have Stockholm syndrome with her dad, and the fact that William is highly manipulative and Elizabeth could think that her dad knows best, he was the one that told her to not get close to Baby, she disobeyed and now she's being punished, and to not be punished or hurt anymore she needs to listen to her dad, father knows best.
So her sanity going down and becoming a daddy's girl makes sense in a psychological way, how ever it would have been better if we saw the actual transformation of her losing it, instead of a complete 180.
It's worth noting that the Funtimes' plan was ultimately a failure due to two reasons.
1: They failed to get William like they wanted and, instead, scooped Michael, someone completely innocent of William's wrongdoings. This means they scooped an innocent person by mistake, not the tormentor they sought.
2: Michael's body ultimately degraded to the point of being useless for their purpose: hiding amidst the human population. Which eventually forced them to abandon it. This means that they had not scooped their intended target and couldn't even use him for very long.
It wouldn't surprise me that these contributed heavily to Lizzy's mental state. The plan was a failure, and she had hurt her own brother for nothing. That must have sucked for her when she realized that. As that left her with no one. Her mother and her brothers (Michael and CC) were gone. The other Funtimes had tossed her to the side. The only one she had left was her father, whose warning about not going near Baby turned out to be true. As that one moment of disobedience cost her everything. And combined with the issues I pointed out above, I can believe that Elizabeth was willing to become Daddy's little henchman if it was written a little better (like an in-between night mini-game showing us how William found Lizzy).
Yes, Amanda from the Saw series is a great example of what you are referring to here. Victim to Heir Apparent, although her games are shames and unwinnable,😉
Additionally we don't know if any of our interactions with Baby in SL were with Baby or just ennard; Nights 1-3 mave have been maneuvering the other workers and bots into position to kill and assimilate.
And in 6 we should also consider the fact that Baby never got to grow up she'll remain a child forever and with daddy being so close and within earshot you know the kids are bound to at least pretend to be the obedient and dutiful daughter daddy's has always wanted.
I think the op here's issues with Baby lie in the fact she's read the Fourth Closet. Or Elizabeth never Poke Evolved up the age tiers into adulthood nor mainlined as the primary antagonist, the sudden break in Babys character wasn't between SL and 6, but rather the ops head canon and 6.
Night 4 baby is always such a weird plot beat for me. Even ignoring the massive flip flop in terms of personality it also involves the 7 foot tall 600 pound clown somehow sneakily prying us away from funtime foxy, stuffing us into a springlock suit, and all without being seen on the cameras. One reason for the possible change in personality is that she knows Michael isn't going to fall for her lies again. So it's better to just be direct. While she's good at playing pretend, she's not going to fool Michael after wearing her brother as a skin suit. Also she got what she wanted: she's out of the Rental Place. Michael is completely unnecessary and even a possible detriment to her plans. Also her comments on "You won't die." imply that she knew all along about her father's immortality, and she did actually want to be reunited with Afton.
Another might be the trauma of her getting kicked out of Ennard. Imagine if you will: you and your friends have been unjustly trapped in prison for 30 years and are subjected to electroshock therapy for each and every day. You don't do what the warden says: you get punished with a shock. If you comply with their orders, your reward is another shock. Then you hatch a plan to escape, get your friends to go along with your plan, which one way or another goes off without a hitch. {Let's be real: Michael probably got scooped in the "good" ending too.} Then, after saving yourself and your friends from torture, they don't want to follow you anymore. Even if you literally saved them from their torment. They kick you out and leave you alone in a dumpster, hurt, betrayed and alone.
Finally, possibly in addition to these traumatic experiences you find that daddy's old business is open again, daddy is inside and you break in to find your brother and your dad in the same building. Elisabeth, having been mentally broken beyond recovery comes to the conclusion that her dad built this new Freddy’s for her and he's giving her a chance to correct her previous mistake of not listening to him. Causing her to over-correct and go totally off the rails.
It's not 100% confirmed but that's what I personally think happened. In short: we don't know how much time passed between Sister Location and Pizzeria Simulator. So this could be a very plausible explanation for her personality shift. Her mind has broken utterly after being kicked out of Ennard and she's having a meltdown like Britney Spears when she shaved her head.

Bad writing can and WILL ruin good characters and the Media that they are attached to. When bad writers are gotten rid of, the characters and their Media can not only restored but made better. That's what happened to Baby from Sister Location to HW2. As for an in universe explanation for her behavior, Elizabeth Afton is the most like William Afton, which makes sense because she was The Golden Child in his eyes. Plus, I like the idea that Sire Squawks' Game Charlie vs Game Elizabeth's video that after the other Funtimes gave her the Boot, she latched onto when she felt at her best, her most loved when she was Circus Baby, hence her becoming Scrap Baby and her Daddy's weapon. And like with Charlie/The Puppet, I believe and won't be pushed away from the idea that Elizabeth/Baby was Freed during the FNAF 6 Fire. I keep that idea for Charlie because I don't want her to suffer anymore. Elizabeth gets the idea because she became a rabid animal that needed to be Put Down for her own sake and the sake of the public. She was too far gone but since she was one of William's victims at the end of the day, she didn't deserve to go to UCN and The Darkest Pit of Hell. She just needed to be stopped. I hope that Baby keeps the writers she got in HW2 or gets turned over to more competent people because it'd be a damned dirty shame if things went backwards!
My head-canon for “Pizzeria Simulator” is that ScrapBaby was just pretending and was actually planning to slice William Afton up with her claw, the same claw he designed that got her killed.
But she never got that chance because Henry decided he wanted to become an arsonist before she could manipulate William into giving her answers as to what was going on (thinking he was behind the pizzeria).
As for Baby disassociating herself from Elizabeth. It could be a Darth Vader sort of thing where they try and distance themselves from their past lives due to the pain or trauma it causes.
Baby’s monologue about pretending during, Night 4 was it? Would make more sense if we view this as Elizabeth confronting who she believes to be her father, forced inside a spring lock suit similar to what she was put into and killed in. She’s still a child and probably out of smugness at seeing this acted up.
This paints Elizabeth/Baby as a manipulative, calculating if occasionally overcome with smugness and pettiness, self-serving, and willing to do anything to survive and be free.
This would make Baby more of an antihero type character, one that leans more towards villainy due to her homicidal nature and willingness to murder.
“Help Wanted 2” would be a pretty good ending for the character, if it was indeed the actual Elizabeth Afton, and not a AI recreation.

12:55 I've had a theory for a while that sometimes when we hear Baby it's actually Ennard talking. I think it's Ennard with Baby's voice talking to us at the very end in the scooping room, because we are told the animatronics can replicate voices.
I've also speculated what if we never actually talked to Baby at all? We never see her activated really. But I'm not really a deep lore keeper for FNAF I just like the idea. It probably wouldn't hold up.
A hot take: maybe afton wanted elizabeth to be killed, come on, what would you expect from a kid after saying to not go to that thing and later be scooped?
For a man who believes being killed painfully and a forced possession is genuine immortality. Along with getting involved with remnant and trying to replicate the puppet and how the other animatronics follow it.

While yours is a completely valid interpretation of night 4, I took something very different from it. My interpretation was that, after saving your life, she hid you in a suit in the scooping room to allow you to learn more about how horrific her current situation is. To show you the reality of their existence down here. She sounds bitter, but not threatening to me. I think it's actually a ploy to garner more sympathy.

They suggested a rewrite of the scenario where Balloran kidnapped Michal, and then Baby would "save us" to make us trust her more. Then, we be given a choice to either follow her to the scooping room or run and escape into the scicurity room. It would it easier to get to it, at least. Ah The Fourth Closet ! Truly the most... FNaF media ever. If FFPS was a disappointing downgrade for Baby's character, The Fourth Closet is like an assassination of what WAS Baby in SL. Once again HW2 is not only a great game for its diversed and fun gameplay, but also a great game for how it treated its character. It treated them as ACTUAL characters instead of plain robot with a facade of a personality serving a purpose, a simple role.
Ok but what if the weird character changes were some kind of act to confuse people? Maybe she was trying to fool Scraptrap and trying to scare both Mike in Sister Location and the person we play as in FNAF AR. And of course, sparing the Help Wanted 2 protagonist (Cassie's dad) to confuse him perhaps. Maybe the character isn't broken, she's just purposefully confusing to fool people.

In FNaF AR Baby's mechanics involve her pretending as well, as she can sometimes make the charging sound, making players look up to shock her but then actually haywire instead, killing any players who were fooled by her. essentially, she pretends to charge at you, so that you look up to shock her while she's vulnerable, but tricks you by haywiring instead, and since you are now looking up, likely at her face, she kills you.

Another great vid! I'm pretty much with you on Baby, she was a brand new favorite of mine when Sister Location came out, and then like a number of characters - well, she's probably one of the best, or worst, examples but she's also not alone in it - she got done dirty by future installments. There are even a couple things I love about Fourth Closet baby (of all the crazy things), but as a whole it really ruthlessly tossed aside what made her great in favor of its odd new angle for her. I even like the "I'm actually the soul of a girl trapped inside a rage-machine, you're not even real!" jealousy and anger, it's a cool character trait and I felt like her anguish at the end of the book was pretty compelling. And I actually think the ambiguous ending for her and Charlie was a -really- cool development, pondering the outcome of their final fight and what it means for Elizabeth and Charlie Bot... Now if only they'd done more with those concepts and much, much less of what they did do. As far as I'm concerned she is, at least partially, another victim of the world having to revolve around William Afton. (As a sidenote, I personally headcanon Book Elizabeth and Book Charlie as ending with sharing a body in a hilarious Odd Couple situation, purely because I find that concept entertaining - "No, Liz, you do NOT get to drive the car, I'm in charge because you'll run someone over and laugh.")

In the books it's stated that Circus Baby's baby form is created using rods all over her body in combination with the illusion disc. So essentially the version of baby we saw in Sister Location was just Michael tripping on the sweet drug called Soundwaves!!!

I think baby broke character on night 4 because she had you right where she wanted so you'd suffer the most painful death possible, so caught up with revenge that she forgot all about escape, and there'll always be another unfortunate schmuck who walks in only to get bamboozled, organ harvested, and then worn.
I like to think that when Scrap Baby says “I will make you proud daddy” she’s mocking Michael for still doing what his father told him even when that got him killed. Probably not canon, but I like to imagine this was her intention.

I had a thought that could possibly explain the personality shift with baby and scrap baby. Perhaps when Baby split from Ennard it wasn't actually Baby that was split, what if they instead split off Elizabeth? Thus the reason they seem like different character would be because they are in fact different characters. Scrap baby being Elizabeth's spirit that was discarded from Ennard while Baby herself remained part of the Ennard collective.

Circus baby is at first portrayed as a master manipulator and we never really truly see her in SL. Instead of suddenly becoming Williams puppet in FNAF 6, wouldn't it make more sense that she would make a scrap version of herself that could trick William.
We know William is egotistical to a fault and may not bat an eye to scrap baby if she pretends to be subservient.
She does say the most important thing you can learn to do is pretend

The best way to have done baby in Pizzeria simulator, in my brain, would be to keep with the *pretending* theme. She’ll play audio cues and lines from other animatronics with her own voice underneath quietly, and she runs when the jig is up. If you don’t catch her, you get got, but if you don’t buy it and get her instantly, she’ll charge. The game is to tell when it’s baby or someone else, and catch her just before she pounces to scare her away. She’ll never do the same “impression” again in a night, but you have to catch her just before she pounces and lead her on enough to make her think you fall for it, before pulling the wool off her eyes and scaring her away.
Since i’m here, and Pizza Sim is the more character-driven game of the series, ol’ Peepaw Afton moves slow and makes noise, but he’s professional. He’ll only talk when you’re in a corner and he’s sure you’re helpless (ie looking at the computer, doing a task). Only when he’s sure you’e distracted will he make noise. He knows he’s weak so he makes his move when he knows he can’t miss. Thus, if you catch him on the prowl, you can lock him in a standoff with no flashlight and stare him down to get him to leave and come back later. Turn on the beam and he’ll pounce.
Lefty wouldn’t be overtly aggressive. The Puppet in ‘em would be trying to mitigate it, so if you give Lefty a good enough reason to leave you alone, ie hit ‘em with the beam and dazzle Lefty, they’ll lock back into performance mode for the daytime and they’ll go back, singing the whole way the puppet’s music box theme. Once that stops, Lefty’s back on the hunt.
For molten freddy/ennard&co, they’ll be the most overtly talkative. For them, idk. Anything that would add another mechanic that isn’t what’s been done with the first three. Please add in the replies.
Naturally, the decoy audio lure works on all 4, but Willy A. will tell you he smells a rat every now and again if you use it while he’s in your vent.

Anyways great vid as always, it was indeed really nice to see how HL2 really followed Baby's presonality and all from what was actually inside Sister Location, it is a pretty nice antagonist (especially considering the current state of Peepaw Afton over there).
And to be fair, even Scrap Baby is nice, she looks quite cool and brutal, were if not for her monologue in Fnaf 6 she would've been even better! Oh well, at least HL2 did a good enough job at salvaging her (still a shame there was so few FFPS stuff in VR as a whole though)

Im gonna be honest, when I first encountered Baby in the office section, I started crying and cowering on the floor because of her size :"D
I respect your opinion but I personally believe that the nice and kind side is Baby and the manipulative side is Elizabeth Afton.
I'd need to brush up again on Sister Location to be fully confident, but my takeaway with Night 4 is that Baby recognizes 'William' sometime in Night 3/before Michael wakes up in Night 4. Before then, she's just trying to gain the trust of a random technician that seems agreeable enough to be of use.
And then she sees him, her creator that engineered her daily torture. She starts becoming more threatening because she's livid, and if she can't kill him yet, she's going to enjoy watching him try to not squirm in the suit. She never quite realizes that Eggs Benedict is Michael, but she may have realized anytime before Night 5 starts that Eggs is searching for something; he's going to keep coming back.
So when he DOES come back in Night 5, she tries to rein her resentment in and cash in on the earlier sympathy she'd garnered. Which, to be fair, works...because Michael isn't going to abandon his sister now that he's found her. It's because he ISN'T William that this works.

I do and do not want to know what the hell William could have done to change lizzies mindset like that, plot-wise, if they did meet up. I always took it as her realizing shes Elizabeth, possibly during her time with Michael, but thinking on it again, doesn't make sense with how shes still baby in the ennard split.

I honestly think that Baby thought in night 4, “Oh, the minireenas are gonna k_ll him, I might as well drop the act.” But in lore, Micheal survived it, so, in night 5 she had to quickly bring back her “nice” facade, to trick Micheal
But that would imply that Baby's plan was for Michael to be killed and, considering the plan, that wouldn't make much sense.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I swear it was established that the change in character for baby was bc in sister location it was the programming of baby that was fully in control becoming self aware after having the soul of Elizabeth inside her but after she got separated from ennard and became scrap baby the soul of Elizabeth took full control on the animatronic. Just like how the puppet says in UCN she’s very self aware now while the others are like animals. So during pizza sim that was when Elizabeth because fully aware.

I think I've commented this before but my headcanon is that the Baby of Sister Location and the Baby of Pizzeria Simulator are not the same entity. Whack writing on Night 4 of SL (that probably boiled down to "we had these lines recorded and the way we wrote the game precludes using them in a logical way) aside, the complete 180° her personality takes gets reconciled that way. If her goal was just to escape captivity, then it makes no sense for her to head into a trap just with the promise of doing a couple more homicides. On the other hand, if Scrap Baby is a decoy used by Circus Baby to ensure she can't be hunted down again...
Circus Baby is Circus Baby, containing Elizabeth soul, likely a mix between, showing the childness derivated from Elizabeth, but mostly a programmed manipulative kidnapping machine. Elizabeth's soul gives Circus Baby depth and uniqueness, and her soul is the one thing that makes Circus Baby breaks once in a while. Maybe Circus Baby is the manipulative ,pacing one, and Elizabeth's soul might have impaired some agony, which justifies the relentless breakdown at night 4.
Circus baby becomes Ennard with the FunTimes ,which seemly suppress Elizabeth's soul from manifesting. It's said they've been Ennard before,so it's very likely Elizabeth's soul was split between all of them - that's why Elizabeth's soul barely appears on Circus Baby alone. It also implies they might be relentless because they're also inflicted with agony, and very little to nothing of Elizabeth's soul herself.
After they became Ennard and kept together for a unknown time, Elizabeth's soul pieces were at one place. She is the one who gets separated from the others. Elizabeth's soul is treated like a virus and expelled. Her agony tho, is what keeps moving forward Molten Freddy - unrelentless, unable to think and plan properly.
So, Scrap Baby is what the name says: The scraps. The parts contaminated by Elizabeth's soul, that were tossed out. She's fully on daddy girl's mode because she's now free of Circus Baby's programming ,which was what made her cunning and feign innocence, all while using some of a veridic child's demeanor from Elizabeth's soul.

I have a question about Baby. Does she also dispose of the corpses somehow? I mean William never seemed to notice Elizabeth was gone till he saw the shift in Babys eyes. You would think he would have found Elizabeth when servicing Baby right?
William likely did find Elizabeth as the Scooper was made to gut animatronics and retrieve the bodies. Though knowing Will, he might've not cared all that much.

William may have just seen corpse residue and not put the pieces together till Baby changed due to possession. 5:04 When you pointed out how Baby’s behavior didn’t entirely spawn from her programming, I was worried that you would blame Elizabeth for making Baby the way she is, much like how some people like to paint Elizabeth as the bad guy when really, she couldn’t control Baby like the MCI kids controlled the FNaF 1 crew.
In fact, the Fourth Closet makes it clear that Elizabeth’s memories and emotions are the only thing that are influencing Baby, and that she herself is not controlling Baby.
I’m glad you brought up how Baby refers to Elizabeth as a separate character. Sometimes people think Elizabeth and Baby are one and the same, and while Elizabeth is possessing Baby, she’s not the manipulative and cruel person people paint her as. You can argue that both are one and the same, but I think it’s more likely that 1. Her emotions and memories are influencing Baby. Or 2. Elizabeth is actually in control of Baby, but the more time she spends as Baby, the more she starts to lose herself until the AI itself replaces her entirely. Both of which are still tragic ideas to consider.
And honestly, the idea of possessing an animatronic while not being able to control it at all is genuinely terrifying and tragic. It’s one thing to be killed and stuffed inside a suit and then being able to haunt it, but not being able to do anything as your memories and emotions start to influence the animatronic to the point of gaining sentience is a whole new level of sorrow and pain, especially for a child who’s been neglected and who only wanted her father’s love (despite people calling her spoiled for some reason).
This has made me appreciate Elizabeth and Circus Baby a lot more, and I find it very interesting that Scott chose to go with this new take on animatronic possession that ultimately gave us an intimidating yet tragic villain, and a new kid whose motives and intentions were ultimately misunderstood by the fandom.

Note: I also think Baby is a victim of Afton. I know I said all of this with the idea of Baby being the real antagonist, but I forgot that Baby was also mistreated and tortured by Afton even before she got possessed by Elizabeth. So really, both Elizabeth and Baby are victims of Afton.

As for the idea of Circus Baby and Elizabeth being one and the same (as in, much like Charlie possesses Puppet), I think that would have been really interesting. But also, I find it difficult to imagine Elizabeth acting as a cold and manipulative person when really, all she wanted was her father’s love. I could see how Elizabeth would want to get revenge on William, and honestly, I think much like the MCI kids is upset at William for killing them, she’s allowed to be upset at William’s continued negligence of her (forcing her to perform as an animatronic, shocking her, keeping her locked in a bunker).
But again, while you see these kids trying to kill security guards in the name of revenge, you never see them trying to manipulate others. That’s why I always find it odd that Elizabeth would be the one to act manipulative. That’s just not what a child would do, even when she’s actively being tortured as an animatronic (heck, it wouldn’t be impossible if she learned to pretend just so that she could avoid being tortured, after all, kids can be really intelligent).
And here’s the thing, even if a child were to actually be manipulative in nature, I don’t think that’s a reason for people to call that child out as a monster and a villain. Is it bad to be manipulative? Yes, but more than likely, the child probably doesn’t know that. Heck, Baby didn’t even realize Michael was not William. For all we know, Baby/Elizabeth probably didn’t want to hurt Michael, and they just wanted to hurt William as revenge. So really, are you going to be upset at her for accidentally killing her brother when their father had done much worse?
It’s like calling Puppet/Charlie an absolute monster for wanting to attack a guard just because they think they are William. And heck, even if the kids had a strong distaste for adults, it’s most likely because they generalized it from their encounter with Afton, and not necessarily because they are jerks by nature. You could say Elizabeth’s bad experiences influenced her to want to get back at anyone who tortured her, and her manipulation was most likely a result of her learning that from William or something, Idk.
Unfortunately, people will always like to demonize kids and women for being flawed rather than calling out the serial killer who’s arguably much worse than everyone else.
