So let me see if I understand this correctly; this person bought some blinds from WalMart, and observed that perhaps the installation instructions were lacking in clarity. He probably also noted the lack of any videos on RUclips that were specific to Mainstay blinds. So, he takes the time to make two videos that would be helpful to others with this task and people have the audacity to criticize the way he talks or the length of the video? Unbelievable! As for me, all I have to say is “thank you, sir, for making this video. I found it helpful.”
Thank you for posting this. I watched a couple other videos and they sped through it and didn’t thoroughly explain everything and I was about to give up and then came across your video! I was putting up my blinds while following along with you and I got done just as your video came to an end. Finally! Lol Thanks again! 😁
The valance is designed to go on after the blind is installed, so put the valance CLIPS on the headrail before installing and then AFTER install the valance into the clips, this way you won't bend the valance :)
My kit isn't quite the same, no valance slat or clips, it has plastic things you put at the bottom to keep it from flapping. Still a useful video, thanks!
Yeah, this was a huge problem for me. Whenever a set of blinds would get wrecked, maybe one piece broken, all I had to do was go buy some more blinds - which up until four years ago cost maybe five bucks- and I could snap the new ones right into the old brackets. But somebody figured out that they could pretend that corded blinds were this massive hazard, because 100 kids over 30 years got strangled in the chords. Yeah, that seems like a really huge problem. But the industry found it was a super great way to make everybody buy all new blinds every time add a hugely inflated cost. I just looked at how much it would cost me to buy the cheapest and it was $11 at walmart. And I'm going to have to reinstall from scratch. None of these new ones match up to the old brackets. So I have to take everything out and put in all new brackets. A complete and utter pain in the you know what. All because 20 parents didn't watch their kids properly over 30 years.
You can't replace these anymore. The new ones that are cordless don't fit into those brackets. So this video is basically useless now. About 4 years ago they stopped allowing curtains with cords and that meant that none of the new cordless curtains snapped into the old brackets. Everything has to be torn out and replaced. Nice huh?
I'm already irritated that it didn't come with instructions so that's what brought me here and I appreciate your posting this video but your video is 20 minutes long? Dude you've got to talk faster and cut out the small talk please!
You could have gotten off if the time length was bothering you. Why your criticism anyways? if you've bought mini blinds I guess you can figure out on your own how to put them up.

this is so helpful!! thank you!!
Why didn't you install the bracket screws on the vertical side of the bracket? They have holes on all sides...
Thank you 🙂
thank you
They no longer have corded blinds. All of their blinds are cordless.

When they tear up how can you easilybreplace them??

Directions are on the side of the box.
That's a window trim not a sill...
Wish mine had instructions so I could know where the plastic pieces go. I have a different kind with metal pieces. This is bullshit.
Seriously takes a 20 mins video ???

I'd rather us 10 penny spikes, and nail them up, rather than listen to this guy drone on and on, about things that just don't matter!
