Thank you so much. I am over here laughing at myself because once I got them up i had no clue on how to lower them. I am so use to the cord to lower th blinds. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
God bless you! I could cry! I was starting to think I was losing it because I could not figure out the instructions. Once I watched your very helpful tutorial, I realized I had the blinds facing backwards 🤦🏾♀️ thank you so much, you will be blessed!!!
I changed the brackets 4 times and still couldn't figure out how to connect the blind to the brackets. I watched your video and got them up on the 5th. try. Thank you so much for the video. You have been a life saver for me.
Thanks so much !!! I hanged up the blind took it down, and got ready to take it back thinking it was defective, since there wasn’t any string. I’m soooo happy I looked at this video . Thank you !
Thank you. I just got some of these. I was, also dismayed that I couldn't use the old hardware and it seemed impossible that the new hardware would hold the blinds up. This is the first thing that popped up when I searched, "How to install Mainstays mini blinds.." Life and timesaver...thank you thank you. Now I just have to buy a drill..........
Jeesh!! I swear you just can't please anybody. He left in the part where he installed it incorrectly to help people NOT make the same mistake. He risked embarrassing himself in order to HELP someone else. I would much rather have a video like this than one from an "expert". For those complaining that they can't see what he's doing, you install the brackets with the longer part UP because that part needs to hold the top of the blinds. He's doing an outside mount installation (outside the window frame). If you are doing an inside mount, you still install the bracket with the longest part at the top, but you use the screw holes on the top of the mount, and screw UP INTO the frame of the window. These are much easier to install than the old version because you do not need an exact placement of the brackets, you can eyeball it, and the blind will still snap into place. Thank you for your video, I really did appreciate it!.....Jill
You guys are so cute! I never got to know either of my grandfathers, but I like to think he'd be like you! And thanks for the help with the blinds. I got mine up :)
Thanks Jim!!! Couldn't get the blinds down and was almost about to break it, just to have to buy another one!! Glad I seen your video... Should have watched it before I put them up!! Took me about an half hour to figure it out, lol...
Thanks so much! This was very helpful. One of our problems was that one of the brackets was too long and we didn't notice when we put it up. Arrrggghhhh . . .
Thank you,I watched 2 other videos and got it wrong 2 times,I watched yours and like you say piece of cake after you guys figured it out for me,done, thanks again
Thank you so much for posting this video my box did not come with instructions and I was looking at the hardware the clips I had no idea how to put them up but now watching this video it makes a lot more sense the only thing is I need to go and buy a drill.
Thanks for this video, really a big help because like yourself I was replacing my old mainstays mini blinds and thought I could just slip the new cordless ones onto the old brackets, it just wouldn't work.
Thanks so much I appreciate you for sharing this it helped us to put up in minutes but just before we watched your video we wanted to take them back to the store !!!
I've had a pair for a year that I never tried because I didn't think they could be raised and lowered. I just swapped out other old blinds instead. Broke a blind this morning and looked online frantically for pull strings and I see they are outlawed. Which I had heard - but I figured they could still be found somewhere...sigh. Now I have no choice but to use them. Just have to figure out how to install them on the inner or outside of window frame. New framework and I have to be sure it's perfect when putting in hardware. Getting old and new things are sometimes frustrating. I've put up many blinds and rods in my life but I may need help with these. Also frustrating. 😟
Thank you for your video! I was trying to yell into my computer when I saw you initially had the brackets installed upside down... haha I just bought a pair of these blinds the other day and was frustrated to discover that they wouldn't slip into the old mounting holders. I have wood trim around my windows, so I have to do a little more monkey business to get my metal brackets hung correctly. Thanks again!
I have yet to install blinds my niece bought for me a yr ago just switched some old ones around instead...one blind broke this morning and I'm frantically looking for pull string blinds this morning online. 😟 I didn't want to tackle these because I thought they could not be raised. I need light and I didn't realize they could be raised and lowered. I am usually pretty handy and don't require help to do things - I have put up many blinds and curtain rods over the years but when I saw these blinds I was like I just can't deal with them. Sitting in a corner in the box all this time. Now as I see people's videos I think I can handle them hopefully. Just getting older, don't like change much and things are a little harder for me to do. Actually, they look better because I won't have to trim the cords.
Thanks for this video. The instructions were a bit vague. I worked it out but wanted to make sure I had it right and this helped confirm how it all fit together. I especially did not understand what the two small clear plastic pieces were for. Also, that's a very interesting crystal piece you have hanging that shows up in this video. Was it handmade?
Makes me wonder why every other human being has a screw gun. Except me. I improvised & started with a nail. Then the screw. Strong as an ox, almost as smart!
Video too dark but just by hearing I understood and thanks to you I also figured it out. The old style was way better and they also came with the outside front cover. These new types are cheaper they are robbing us. Next time I will be buying from Lowe's I'd rather pay more for quality than these. The outside cover like a fender they stopped including is definitely a deal breaker. Now they look like trash super cheap.
Much appreciated Jim. One problem though. I have sets of previously installed cordless Mainstays (same sizes), but cannot get them to come off. How hard can you press the plastic casing before something breaks (or gives) when removing them? These here seem to be pretty old but fully functional. Previous to this video, I was also baffled with the cordless function. I wasn't expecting them to work since there was no operational string attachment. Either who'da thought or am I just that dense? Thanks again.
@@JimVincitore Thanks for letting me know. I actually just was not forcing the blind down enough. I was being too cute with it. I actually called the number that was on the instruction sheet that all of mines actually came with. I waited for almost an hour and when I finally got through a woman simply told me that you might need to pull down on them with a little more force. After the phone call, I simply did that and it worked like a charm. I have 2 26 inch on two windows and 1 31 inch on another one in my bedroom and they all fit perfectly. Mines are actually the room darkening ones. Thanks for the help.
I watched five professional videos and you didn't know what you was doing. But you have the best video on putting up this blind....lol...thanks
LOL! I shoulda red the directions!
Bless you I was ready to throw the blinds in the trash got so frustrated but now I’m good ❤️
Me too

Thank you so much. I am over here laughing at myself because once I got them up i had no clue on how to lower them. I am so use to the cord to lower th blinds. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Welcome Miccheal!
I couldn't have done this without your video. With no instructions on or in the box, I was LOST on the bracket placement!
Hi Susan! You're welcome! I hear ya! They are tricky! Thanks for watching! Jim

Good job!! It's funny how We Learn From Somebody else's mistakes. 👍👍👍
Hi GS! I hear ya! That's why I didn't cut that part out, so you would not make the same mistake! Thanks for watching! Jim
My man. I didn't know what the hell to do with this when I first brought it out of the package until I saw you here.
Mine would not even come close to popping in. Now it’s in a million pieces on my floor. Damn that felt good.

Thank you. Great job. Now i understand.
We're just having the hardest time! Only one clicks in, but it squeezes the mount. Now the mount is all scratched up 😭

Mine were already installed. They raise easily, but don't lower. Don't want to break them. Wonder if they were installed backwards???
I'd just put a new one in. Not worth the aggravation for $5.00 item.
This video helped me after I broke a set lol 🤦🏿♂️
Great Video
Excellent Presentation
This helped me a lot ☺️
Hi Amouraaa! You're welcome! Jim
Thanks, I need to get two. Did you measure how far apart to put the mount clips?
Hi Nancy! Nope. No measuring, it just snaps in along the rail any place.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Great Job. Thank you.

Hello I was trying to remove and replace a couple broken slats and the center string on both sides disappeared. I don’t know what happened
This helped big time, thanks!
Thank you so much!!! Great job!!!
The new brackets are terrible. Why would the manufacturer change the bracket? Because it was the one thing in life that was toooo easy????
I AGREE!

They'll be brittle as they get older. Careful not to cut your self. I hear ya, the no string thing is weird!
When I shortened mine both sides strings wound up into the top
Thank u very helpful
That's the worst part of putting up blinds. Luckily i'm just replacing old broken ones and the brackets are already up.
Thanks for watching! Jim
I noticed the box said white but is it a bright white an off-white?
I'd say it's just a normal white. Bright white if I had to choose one. Light filtering would also be a better choice, especially for bedrooms.
Thank you 😊
He made me laugh...Every man needs duck tape and a pocket knife. You can do anything!!!!!
Thanks for watching! Jim
You need lights man
Why fix it if it isn't broken. I know, they wanted to save plastic. These plastic brackets are a drop in the bucket compared to all their bags!
I think the brackets are upside down.
Now ya tell me! LOL! I should a red the directions!
dude I cant get my blinds to go down for some reason
is there a lock that i making this happen
Pull it down a little, then push it up.If yours has a string, pull the string to the side, then pull the string down.

I made the same mistake I thought they were the same as the ones that I had at home
Not as easy as you might think. The directions are useless. Finally figured it out.
Hi Ronnie! I hear ya! Some have left comments, theirs did not even have instructions. Jim
Turn on a light
Cannot see a thing. The camera needs to be closer and with better light
This video was almost as frustrating as the blinds
LOL! Yeah, I should have cut that one part out. I just thought it would help others not make the mistake I did. Jim
Typical man! Read the instructions. Saw your mistake immediately! :)
YOU SHOULD HAVE SPOKE UP! TOO LATE NOW!

Hi Yesii La Chiquis! Thanks for watching! Jim
