Thank YOU! I nearly blew it on the center string, but Praise God, I finally got it!
Woohoo!! Glad you didn’t cut that center string ☺️ Congrats on getting it done!
Tammy so glad you have a movie as to how to shorten mini blinds , so many times I could of used this how to movie , thank you !
Thank you! Hopefully it will come in handy for the future for you. Thank you for giving it a watch! ☺️🙏🏼
Thanks so much yours was the only video that explained not to cut the tension cord otherwise it’ll send the blind up into the top! Appreciate the tutorial:)
Glad it helped and thank you so much for your comment! 🙂
Tammy your video was the best. Thank you
Great!! Much success with shortening your blinds!
This is so practical to know! I have done this to blinds before but this seems so much simpler and less fool proof than what I did.. will definitely to it this way next time!
Great! Hopefully it will be fast and easy next time 😉❤️
Excellent video!! Very helpful!
Awesome!! Glad to hear it helped 😍
i am the older generation but I love to search youtube for answers...rarely do i not get what i'm looding for...thanks for the help...the instructions omitted how to
shorten cordless mini-blinds...thanks so much...
Thank you for giving my video a view and sharing your feedback. The first pet of the video is the cordless faux blinds and the second part is about the corded ones. Sorry I didn’t make it more clear. I hope you were able to figure out your project. 🙏🏼
The Great idea about shorting blinds, you can save a lot on prices I needed 55 inch long bought 63inch saved 62% followed your directions,, turned out Great Thanks Tammy....
Perfect!!
Thanks
😊
Just what I needed thanks!
Awesome! Much success on your project 🙌🏼
Great tutorial 😃 a general tip you can seal the ends of the cord by melting them with 🔥 ..this applies to most synthetic cord, rope string etc...p.s. was that the gaffer wearing the 👕 at the start 😊
Great point! I’ll be sure to include that as a point in future videos. Thank you so much and, yes, our little pooch with the shirt 👚is definitely the boss 😅
Love it. Thanks 🙏🏻 I’ll definitely do it
You’ll make it look great! 🙌🏼
I know how,, it would be nice for a topic,I like the way you explain things!!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you so much great video ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I was trying to do this before hanging so dumb!
Glad I could help! 🙂🙌🏼
Omg thankyou ❤
Glad it helped!!
Great. Thanks. You say plats and the rest of the world calls them slats. Is it a Southern thing?
Lol! Nope… That’s a Tammy thing 😅😅😅
Wonder why you are using the scissors upside down?
LOL! That’s a GREAT question 🤔🤷🏻♀️😂
How to hang curtain rods????
That’s a good topic for a future video! 👍🏼🙌🏼
The only problem with this method is you now have now spares
With the cordless it would be challenging to replace a broken slate. I could see saving a slate or two from the corded one though. Good thought!
I’m trying to figure out a way to comp the center string at the sop so I can replace some broken slats with those extra at the bottom. I don’t have a lot of money for the expensive blinds that still sag over time. I just have the $10 made in Vietnam mini blinds that the slats break if you breath on them too hard.
@mousetoad7040 I haven’t figured out how to do that unfortunately 😔
Hi Does this process work for cordless Levolor vinyl mini blinds?
Hey there! It should work the same 🙂
Thanks Tammy. I ask because the Levolor instructions state “these blinds cannot be shortened due to the cordless operating system”. I guess this is a standard disclaimer.
If it looks similar to the one I did I would assume that the mechanics of it are the same. In that case, it should be fine. Maybe people are accidentally cutting the center string that is under tension. Otherwise it should work.
I just found this on the Levelor site and it appears to mimic what you show in the video.

The instructions here are not for cordless though
You should have said to follow the first part.
The title is for cordless. But in the comments you mention it is not for cordless. Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Patricia! The first part of the video goes over the cordless type and the second part of the video goes over corded blinds. Hope this helps 🙂
Why waste the slates?
There aren’t many options with the cordless blinds but you could certainly recycle the corded ones. Love that thought!
This is too easy.
Yes! This is an easy fix anyone can do 🙌🏼
