This helped me soooo much. I’ve been on RUclips for almost an hour trying to figure out how to get my blinds down. Thought I was definitely gonna have to pay to replace them. Then I stumbled unto your video and was finally able to get them down. Thanks so much
Same here! Once I understood the mechanism I gently pulled apart some pieces, sorted out a blockage with the cords and voilà. Top notch video! Excellent animation too
Wow how can one video get everything right?! Beautiful animation, easy to understand, and the sponsor is relevant and smoothly transitioned in. Great video!
The reason I love these videos are: 1) They are clearly explained, with excellent animations, to say nothing of the 3D components. 2) You don't leave anything out. When the video is over you know exactly how it works, with no boxes/mechanisms left unexplained, for those who need a thorough explanation. Even if you forget how it works in the future, and just take it for granted that it does, it's always nice to remember that you knew how it worked at one time, so you know it's not "magic".
@@bobmcboblin There's also the inertia lock that allows the belt to be extended gently but locks if pulled quickly, and the retractor that keeps the belt tight.

We have brilliant minds amongst us. They are the reason our technology has advanced as far as it is today. Everything starts from a simple mechanism, then more components are added to make it more efficient
SO helpful!! I watched a few other videos from other sources to help me understand the workings of my horizontal blinds. This was, by far, the most helpful. Thank you!!
Lol thanks man! You saved me! I pulled the strings on the blinds in my moms house and the lock part was rusty and locked up at the top. My mom yelled for 5 mins, and was really mad saying I needed to buy her a new one now, I watched this video. Figured out the rusty lock part was preventing the blinds from going back down. Shoved my pocket knife in there and BAM the blinds fell down. Took 3 mins to find the solution and fix the issue. Thanks a bunch lol.
Thank you. I have really old blinds that do not look good anymore because of how old and used they are, so I am considering covering them with black out fabric and making sort of "roman shades" and this video reassured me that I can safely remove the two strings that flip the blinds and just leave the one that lifts them up and down.
I recently got a book called "How Your House Works," which has exploded diagrams of things in your house such as the blinds, faucets and so forth. This channel is so much better because with the animation I can see the parts actually working. Kudos!
This is actually really helpful. I'm from India and have a set of broken blinds. Now I know what's the exact problem so I can't address it better. Thank you so much 👍🏽
Thank you for making this so easy to understand and follow. I’ve been struggling with these blinds for 30 minutes and your video helped me fix them in 2
Super clear description of the window blinds mechanism. Clear video, clear audio, clear presentation, you even mentioned some of the alternative ways in which things may be implemented. The clearness and attention to detail deserves a - wow. =) (I would love to see some Blender tutorials by you.)
Thank you! I was replacing the tilt mechanism and it wasn’t working. I assumed I had put the whole thing back together wrong, your video showed me that I had the cord housing upside down. Now my blinds work perfectly!
@@JaredOwen It was smart to work with a company focused on the parts rather than the whole. That prevented them from influencing your design, and may have pushed you to cover a wider variety to cover all the parts possible for blinds.

Ive been taking a look at his upload dates and video lengths and as far as I can see he needs a whole month for each 7½ minutes of his video (2 months for 15 minutes etc). This means he needs around 4 days in average for each minute of content he produces. (I would guess he works around an hour daily but relaxed, his videos look very passionate, so I think he has a huge fun making them every day, almost like a video game) All this information is just my guess based on analysing his situation and combining it with my own experience throughout life

Jared can you do a video where you explain how a party popper/ confetti popper works. You could also do how fireworks work too, they would all be great for a July 4th video.
