ALL THE CAUCASUS VIDEOS: bit.ly/3WeMvO0 Here's the last video from Azerbaijan where I did a land-border crossing into Georgia. This experience felt very nerve-racking for me personally, but I was so proud of myself for doing it. This video illustrated the raw experience and reality of what it looked like to travel alone as a female to far-flung places. I was completely aware of the conflicts and the political sensitivity of this region. I would be naive not to think this would be an easy border-crossing. I researched heavily prior to my flight departure to Azerbaijan. I calculated every travel itinerary I had and decided to do Azerbaijan before Georgia then to Armenia. My Indonesia passport also played a huge rule of making it more difficult. An American/British/EU or similar kind passport holder wont go through such scrutiny. I still decided to go because I want to challenge myself and experience this firsthand. One wont grow if one always choose the easier and comfortable way. 🙂

Fantastic Journey with great information for Border Crossing from Azerbaijan to Georgia. i am a Bicycle tourist and was looking for border crossing detail from Azerbaijan to Georgia, but no latest updates, and even on Social media that the border is closed. In July 2023, I am planning to Cycle from Baku to Georgia Kutaisi City Crossing Balakan Border. Is the border open to cross? and is there any official documents requirements you advise (like any permit / Show money / or any other document) that i must have while crossing the border at Balakan region? i confirmed from Georgia Consulate here in UAE, as i am a UAE resident and our visa is on Arrival at the airport in Georgia. I was kinda arrested at Baku airport, humilated too. An officer walked with me to the ATM in order to get the money! Why? Because I had to do something called registration. Note: I had tourism-visa but again you have to have a registration. I had to pay a lot of money at the airport and almost missed my flight. So, when you arrive Azerbaijan make sure you will do registration even if you have visa. DO NOT FORGET THAT I AM WARNING YOU.
I am sorry to hear your horrible experiences! Azerbaijan requires travellers to register with the officials if you stay in the country for more than 10 days. I found it to be a hassle.
Every country has its own special rules. if you ignore them and travel whatsoever, you will pay the price with your money and time. This applies to all countries. As travellers we so wish all the bureaucratic nonsense doesn't exist. I've been a solo traveller for a long time and luckily I'm male, but I lost my passport last year and had to get two new ones (one temporary one to get out of Sweden where I was stuck and one back in the US where I live) and reapply for four visas. Took me four months and countless days of just running to and from embassies and application centres to do that. It can feel meaningless a lot of times and I'm often heavily questioned because I'm long-haired and I'm often just exhausted when crossing any border, but there's no better solution other than accepting the state we're living in and try to conquer all the nonsense. Such a privilege to be on the road.
When you did that border crossing, that must have been so hard. I rarely do a border crossing without a meltdown nowadays. In 10 years of traveling there has been so much drama. Thanks for sharing your content. It's so wholesome and honest.
Thank you so much, Jozefien! Thank you for sharing your experiences as well. I am so glad that you got the honesty that this video is trying to portray. I appreciate your comment and support!

Really good video but I think you have miss understanding about being a female solo traveler in Azerbaijan I'm Egyptian not Azerbaijani But I visited Azerbaijan many times and so a lot of women walking alone very safe more than any other country I visited before Also my sister travelled to Azerbaijan 3 times one with her friends (girls) and 2 times she was alone and she told that she felt so safe and everybody tried to help her with everything So I think this is miss understanding But still good video
Hiya, this video is not trying to create drama. This was filmed realistically and I showed my honest feeling as a I was going through this. Just because my experience is different to your sister, doesn't mean that mine isn't valid.
@@SyifaAdriana Maybe but if you tried to understand why people was looking at you, you may understand that you are too wrong Azerbaijan is so new in the term of tourism Just 6 years one year of them was closed due to covid 6 month closed due to the war with Arminia They didn't use to see foreigners on their streets The most of them also can't speak English and they are simple to the degree of thinking that if they talk to you in Azeri language you should understand them So they look at us as foreigners because they want to communicate with us and say hi But they sometimes being so shy and just looking at you waiting for you to start because they being too shy because they can't speak good English They were looking at me the same way and I'm a man!! They do the same thing we were doing when we were kids and meet a tourist in Egypt or Indonesia Our old people doesn't do that because both countries very very old on this field and we all used to see a ton of tourists every year Sometimes more than local people 😀 So try to understand the mentality of the people in the country you visit (it's an advice) I believe that you did feel fear I'm not against you and I'm sorry for the word (drama) but also I believe that no one ment to put you on this situation It's just miss understanding Maybe after some years when they use to see a lot of tourists, they will not give neither me nor you any attention and we will miss this feeling of being new to a place and everybody wants to contact with us and curious about us I still like your videos You did a great job And I really appreciate your effort

Your speech is very heart full,, good quality video, like it, from gujral India
17:20 That was your “first successful border crossing”? Have all others been unsuccessful? Wow
Not quite like that 😂 It's just I mostly fly into the country to enter rather than doing a border crossing :)
@@SyifaAdriana you still cross a border when flying in though!
@@zz44ppppp True, I meant land border crossing 😂 I still get a lot of scrutiny and questions even with flying.
So nice and what a fluent English
you aer very beautiful . aslo open mind person . i respact you and proud of you . god bless all of your drem come true .
How many countries you visited
When you did that border crossing, that must have been so hard. I rarely do a border crossing without a meltdown nowadays. In 10 years of traveling there has been so much drama. Thanks for sharing your content. It's so wholesome and honest.
Thank you so much, Jozefien! Thank you for sharing your experiences as well. I am so glad that you got the honesty that this video is trying to portray. I appreciate your comment and support!
Did your UK resident permit allowed you to enter schengen region without visa?
Not at all. I would still apply for a regular Schengen tourist visa separately.
Keep exploring the world ❤🧡💛
Thank you so much for watching, Mamunur!

Thank you so much for watching, Prem!
Really good video but I think you have miss understanding about being a female solo traveler in Azerbaijan
I'm Egyptian not Azerbaijani
But I visited Azerbaijan many times and so a lot of women walking alone very safe more than any other country I visited before
Also my sister travelled to Azerbaijan 3 times one with her friends (girls) and 2 times she was alone and she told that she felt so safe and everybody tried to help her with everything
So I think this is miss understanding
But still good video
Hiya, this video is not trying to create drama. This was filmed realistically and I showed my honest feeling as a I was going through this. Just because my experience is different to your sister, doesn't mean that mine isn't valid.
@@SyifaAdriana
Maybe but if you tried to understand why people was looking at you, you may understand that you are too wrong
Azerbaijan is so new in the term of tourism
Just 6 years one year of them was closed due to covid
6 month closed due to the war with Arminia
They didn't use to see foreigners on their streets
The most of them also can't speak English and they are simple to the degree of thinking that if they talk to you in Azeri language you should understand them
So they look at us as foreigners because they want to communicate with us and say hi
But they sometimes being so shy and just looking at you waiting for you to start because they being too shy because they can't speak good English
They were looking at me the same way and I'm a man!!
They do the same thing we were doing when we were kids and meet a tourist in Egypt or Indonesia
Our old people doesn't do that because both countries very very old on this field and we all used to see a ton of tourists every year
Sometimes more than local people 😀
So try to understand the mentality of the people in the country you visit (it's an advice)
I believe that you did feel fear I'm not against you and I'm sorry for the word (drama) but also I believe that no one ment to put you on this situation
It's just miss understanding
Maybe after some years when they use to see a lot of tourists, they will not give neither me nor you any attention and we will miss this feeling of being new to a place and everybody wants to contact with us and curious about us
I still like your videos
You did a great job
And I really appreciate your effort
Fun to see you travelling again, nice to watch you show unusual countries, a fun education ✌️❤️🇬🇧thanks syifa
