This is the best song they played that night!!!! I mean, THIS IS SMOKING!!!!! And they played some amazing versions of their songs that night, but this one wins over them easy!!!!! Each person in the band is doing their best part, contributing to an incredible whole!!!!
De este grupo lo escuche solo de oidas de otra gente o aquel tiempo de jovenes cundo muy niño y ahora que le he escuchado mmm ecxelente musica hasta ahora, trasnpasa las decadas¡¡
Great! The band is so powerful, wow! Much better than Nocturne! John McGeoch is the ultimate guitar player for them! Possible to get this as a DVD somewhere?
I see so many comments about how great Siouxsie is, how great John McGeoch is, how great he bass line is, but nobody mentions what the song is actually about...amazing
great tune, but doesnt it somehow sound similar to the Clash London Calling guitar sound. I know these people all came from the same neck of the woods. I love it!!!!
In 1978 we did not know how something called 'the internet' would Shuffle lives into wrong categories, Cross the wires and fuse humanities, but it seems 'intersectionality' and 'trigger warnings' were intuited by some.
Great song, and performance, I’ve never heard a bad song from this band, and I’m not exactly a post-punk/Goth disciple, more a stiff goody 2 shoes pencil counter, how weird am I? 😂
@@zaradragonia9863Did I say that they were anything? You were the one who gave them a label, just as you said Siouxsie hated labels. They drove post-punk and inspired the Goth genre, even if they dont regard themselves as either, thats my opinion and it might also be a fact.
From 2:02 to about 2:30 the bass and guitar sound eerily similar to London Calling....., Remember Nicky Headon and Budgie were great friends and Nicky taught Budge quite a few things too.... It’s not plagiarism just friends encouraging each other. So very different today :(
@@lavieenrose5954 I can hear what you mean, but Switch was released about a year before London Calling was even recorded and it was before Budgie joined the band
I was lucky to see them perform live on the UK tour at hammersmith in 1981. Amazing band... unforgettable night.
Did you get there autographs?
I love that period of their life. After that they went commercial and I don't like the new stuff. I love the first album and Juju is a beauty. 😄
@@dominica4799 Sadly no autographs. We didn't go back stage after the gig that night.
Thankyou John McGeoch for making me smile every day, you make your guitar come alive, so happy you were a part of this wonderful wonderful band ❤️
Ditto ❤
Great beats , great bass , great guitar , great vocal , great combination .....great entertainment ..

McGeoch is the greatest post punk guitarist. Fucking legend.
Same ❤
Possibly one of my favorites songs from Siouxsie!!!!
This is the best version of this ... Fabulous..
One never grows tired of them .
The bass line is amazing....
So cool! What made me first love this song
It's an instant hook
God, she's magnificent.
Absolutely 💯❤
Can magnificent be an understatement??
Severin's tone is massive in this performance. Outstanding. Love the ebb and flow of this song.
Saw Siouxsie and also PIL live. John McGeough and Keith Levene stand out to this day. They were exceptional guitarists. SO powerful live. RIP 🙏🏻
Not forgetting Steve Jones... another brilliant punk guitarist. Tight as f..k!
This is one of the best live goth performances of the 1980's IMO. Cheers SATB!
The great John Mc Geoch

great live performance
Not limited to 4 minute pop songs The Banshees were a perfect blank canvas for McGeoch. Like most ahead of their time, he never got his flowers.
You do know that John McKay wrote this riff tho 🤘
@@gmantramp404 Yeah, there's a video of him performing it live on French TV.
@@gmantramp404 I think McGeoch plays it better than McKay, but McKay was definitely their second best guitarist after McGeoch
This is pure perfection. Incredible.

I saw John several times with PIL, but am sorry I never saw Siouxsie on tour. Great show!
Unfortunately, I can't choose one from the.. nearly 100 favorites songs from Siouxsie... I've got a problem D:
But yes I LOVE this song!! :D
What a great performance! I love this song!
same
what a line bass god
Severin is underrated. His bass lines are terrific 🙂
This is so much much more intense than the Albert Hall performance with Robert Smith.
Perfect ..
I adore that song
BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!
Super cool severin ...
McGeoch RIP
The guitar from minute 5:43 is HYPNOTIZING, much more intense than in Nocturne. I prefer this version.
3:28 Take no prisoners. Breathtaking 😮
Incredible version !

They're not a goth band! Siouxsie hated labels and especially that one! I just call them post punk.

Un puro abuso el directo de esta gente..qué enormidad.
Why does this remind me of grace slick Jefferson airplane? But gothic lol
what does the design on Siouxsie's shirt mean/represent?
Amon duul II
@wernermuehlemann I also love Nocturne, I like variation :)
