If you do have to use an external audio source you need to sync a good tip is to clap your hands in front of the camera after you have both recording. It gives you a very clear frame of video that also produces a short sharp sound that will be very obvious on the audio waveform just need to drag the audio so that peak lines up with the frame where you see your hands make contact. Obviously the you will end up cutting that bit out right after but once you have them aligned your two tracks will be in sync a clap just works really well for this because it makes a very clear easy to see point in both the video track and the audio waveform that you can just slide until they are lined up with each other in your timetime.
When I first started flex in 2020 the directions for the next stop was turn east, west, north or south. Absolute nightmare back then!
I love watching these videos, I'm working towards getting my full driver's licence and I'm thinking of working as a delivery driver after I do, these videos have been great insight into the life of a courier.
I’m glad to hear it! Best of luck with getting your licence 💪
Don’t have high expectations of the job especially if you go to a DSP for Amazon it’s a lot harder than these video show you are in vans and the places you get sent are unbelievable depending on area you live especially if you don’t have reverse camera route sizes are massive compared to ones in this videos could get around 150 - 200+ stops per day and you aren’t employed work is not guaranteed you will get cancelled on if they don’t have enough routes to go around everyone and what this guy is doing in the video is wrong by leaving parcels not in bags to keep protected against weather and don’t be expecting a work life balance the job isn’t for everyone that’s why most people try it and quit very quickly only take this reply as somewhat advice not as anything else
You will need to get some experience driving for minimum 1yr then apply. You won't get any insurance for Flex once you just passed (if you do it will be very expensive)

Funny you should say this. I recently did a 3.5 route after a year away. My expectation was to finish 30 minites earlier like I used too but ended up taking 4 hours! So yes, i think the algorithm has been tweeked. It was a built up aera too.
in the distribution centre i used to work at, the flex drivers used to have to pick up the bags themselves into the car but i always used to bring the cart to them to make it easier, same treatment as the van drivers.
13:25 I've a full time run in Northern Ireland, mostly rural very similar to this and can confirm it's pain if your still out in the sticks when its dark 17:04
I did deliveries out of Plymouth for Asda back in '18/19, and I was so much happier when my shift would take me to the South Hams or up the A38 corridor as far as Ashburton. Fortunately, about 75% of my shifts were of that type. Delivering in the city with less distance between drops and more general city aggro was a lot less satisfying.
I do miss it, mostly because Devon is bleddy 'ansum.
Why'd you leave Asda? When I was at Sainburys it was that bad they got agency workers in because people were quitting left and right. One guy told me that he'd lost £200 a month for about 3 months through shorter shifts, which is why he had to leave. I'd imagine inconsistent pay is a major factor.
I think that just seeing the different styles of doorbells were worth the price of admission.
I wonder if you ever recognised any houses for movies or TV in your travels on the routes?
Thanks for the video!
Cool videos 📹. Delivery in style. Watching from Kenya 🇰🇪
I love ur videos mate and I was happy to see this video around the 35 min mark. If u could continue to make ur videos 30-40 mins long, that would be great👍🏻
Just been accepted after a secondary wait list! So hopefully will be doing routes when I’m back from holiday
DOnt bother youll regret it
@@PMc-l4f lol it depends on his location I guess
I had a 40 miles route the other day! my poor petrol mercedes!!😭
I had a 48 parcel 3.5 hour block which was supposedly only 2.5 hours even though the first drop was 35 minutes away and the route was similar to yours (mostly farms and countryside areas with a fair drive between each drop) and I also had to complete a return which was a further 30 minutes back to the depot so all together the route took 4 hours. Seems like amazon are becoming a lot more strict on their routes now as many drivers would finish early. Luckily managed to get a pay adjustment and they paid me an extra hours worth even though I only finished 31 minutes past the finish time.
They give the same amount weather you finish 2 minutes or 45 mins late...the amounts are just random though.
@@shepherdkamumvuri1662 For me it always seems to be the hourly rate for the block e.g if the block is paying £60 and I finish up to 30 minutes late they will give me £20
The way it works is the block time is for when your last drop off is. Not returning to the depo. So in your case the 3 hour block calculated is for last house you you are due to visit. If you have an item to return to the depo and it takes you over 3 hours then you can claim for an adjustment.
That makes sense. I guess they presume in most cases, a trip back to the depo won't happen so they base times off of assuming you're commuting home after your last drop.
4:08 she means it does not open. hence it looks like a door but does not function as one. hope that helps.
Is that like a security thing? She must get loads of deliveries to the fake door, surely it just gets annoying?
@@autohustles It probably opens into a bedroom or something and they've moved their entrance door round the side of the house
don't know if it's a new driver thing, but I get anxious holding other road users up i do the speed limit but people still seem to drive really close to my back end but this type of work is so appealing better than the warehouse stuff am in
I used to deliver for amazon via a DSP. we were told amazon factor in the distance / time from the depot to the first stop
I guess if they factor in the drive there but not a return back to depo, that makes sense.
You just need to deliver 1 parcel beyond your block time to claim extra. Just 1 minute after your block time you will get at least 7 quid
I deliver for Sainsbury's covering between Torquay up to oakhampton and everytbing in-between and i funnily always look out for Micra's on the road. If you get flashed by one its me!!! ( I do all those same lanes in a van so less moaning 😂😂)
Hahah I'll keep on the lookout for Sainsbury's vans! Fair play for tackling Devon in a van, but they cover the servicing, breakdowns and repairs of their fleet 😉 that's the tricky bit for us Flex drivers, we gotta know our car's limits or our wallet takes a beating getting the car sorted!
Can you see where you are delivering before you pick the parcels up. And cancel the run if it is somewhere you don’t want to deliver
No
It’s kickin off mate!!!
You should come to London Enfield depot and do this the drops ain’t too far most of them are only a few miles away
How many miles in total have you done in your car overall? Do doing deliveries have a massive impact on mileage?
Guessing that's the A303 lol. I don't understand the road noise either haha.
Buy a hand held cigarette lighter plug in halogen battery free lightweight spotlight to help find addresses much more easily after dark to light up road signs and house names and numbers.
One thing I've noticed about rural deliveries is that a lot of people seem to try their hardest to make it as difficult as possible to identify the property name or number. A clear sign or easily identifiable delivery point seems to be actively resisted. And they all seem to love having easily confused and mixed up names with the neighbours - You get stuff like 1 Brow Ln, The Brow, Brow Cottage, 1 & 2 Brow Cottages, Brow Farm, Brow Farm Cottage, Brow Farmhouse, Brow Farm Barn all being different properties close to each other but only one or two of them actually having signs and numbers.
And if you get mixed up or do something as ridiculous as ask they go mad!
For real 😂
Do you not get phone signal issues when delivering rural?
All the time - luckily, you can literally complete an entire Flex block with zero signal if you had to. The entire route and all customer data is loaded locally when you pick the parcels up. The only issue is marking things as delivered requires GPS to be near the marked location, and in those cases you can toggle airplane mode to get the 'GPS is not working' option in the help menu and get around it.
Hello mate, just come across your videos. Been considering this as a part time thing for a while, whats the best insurance for doing this as and when you feel like it?
I did one in Liverpool centre a big challenge used at the carpark for £3.
And walked around with a just eat delivery bag filled with parcel😅s
Great video, I have recently started courier work and also dread the farm locations. I have a question on the mobile phone holder, which one are you using?
Thank you! The holder is some random off-brand MagSafe phone mount I got in the tech section of Primark 😂 but it's honestly the best car mount I've used. Being able to just whack it on the mount with the magnets in the phone and not having to use two hands to open a clip and secure it in has been a game changer.
I agree with you that it's all about robots these days for these companies, and in certain instances it's not good . I've noticed this working with Uber eats
I’ve been thinking of doing Amazon Flex as a side job, but I’m not a fan of dogs (sorry guys lol). Has anyone ever had any issues/problems with dogs at properties?
Have to deliver 40 parcels within 3 hours plus half an hour to drive to the location
Can you take your time in this Amazon delivery job?? If you finish late and the depot is closed by the time you finish then what do you do with the packages??
I signed up a few days ago. What insurance are you using? Cheers
Nope. Disagree about the noisy road. Can't beat the A12 London to Essex for noise! Or parts of the M40 too.
How many miles does a parcel delivery driver do per day? What is your average amount of miles for you per shift?
200 drops for min wage
Some more great Content mate! You need to deliver in Bridgwater asap!

That driveway there would not be anything like a million to tarmac. Oh it would not be cheap tens of thousands yes but a million no. Assuming like a 2.5-3m width you are looking at like £125-£200 per metre in length give or take, they already own the land and no major regrading is needed to make it happen. Those are the things that make things cost an absolute fortune actually putting the surface down on a way that you already own, that is pre cleared and reasonably graded is like £50-75 per square metre of tarmac laid which is as I say a hundred or two per metre for a single lane width. I start to feel like once you start demanding other people drive on that road in order to provide you with services you have some responsibility to the people you are requiring to come to you, it works for me because less of a hand wave you can make when it is not just you who you are requiring to be there. Suffice to say if someone they ask to deliver there seriously damages their car their and ends up suing them by the time the lawyers have finished adding their fees they will wish they had just made the drive safe for all vehicles they requested drive down there to serve them a few tens of thousands doesn't last long once that happens. Also a loan against the property which probably is worth a million easy would absolutely be available for that improvement.
What map app is that?
Hi there, do you know if you can do this as a part time, along with a full time job (hgv)? and is there taxes included
good vid matey, your patience is running thin with the amazon gods i see i can fully understand that, have you thought of evri?yodel if available in your area ,take care buddy
They're probably watching videos like yours and realising people are finishing before the time slot, so they're paying too much!
I'm surprised you haven't got 10k subs yet. Great content mate.
Cheers mate! 🙌
The flex if accept personal business insurance?
Hi mate can you tell me how it is working for amazon flex, how you get the insurance etc overall cost a month etc? Please and thank you!
Does Amazon have a limit for the age of the car used for delivery?
Hi Auto Hustles, thanks for all the useful content. Do you receive a tax reimbursement for the miles accumulated during Amazon shifts? Thanks
You can claim the 45p/mile allowance when doing your tax return, yes.
What do you use for insurance thanks
Music at 26 minute mark hit ngl, bit of a banger for what I assume is a non copyrighted beat lmao
Hahaha every now and then I find a banger on Epidemic Sounds! Had to use this one.
What do you make in a week after expenses on average?
Those roads are terrible, Super narrow. Well done getting that all done though
Mate why don’t u just jump to the next deliveries near u then continue with the route on the other side
Have you considered that you doing 20mph down a 60mph national speed limit lane is why youre not on time. Im sure my company sainsburys calculates delivery times based on the time and speed of road you driving on so doing 20\30 on a 60mph is putting you behind. Obviously youre not gonna do 60 but this is my thinking.
Yea that's a possibility - although most navigation apps (Google, Apple Maps etc.) account for the average travel speed of the road based on other users' data - not just the speed limit of the road. And I would assume, maybe optimistically, that Amazon do the same. Maybe not, though!
You ever tried UBER?
his whole channel is kinda uber eats
@@SlixFix im saying uber taxi
In a 2011 Micra? Definitely not 😂 Uber wouldn't even accept such an old car. But when I eventually upgrade the motor? Yea, I'll definitely consider it.
Is Amazon flex available all year round ?
People buy from amazon everyday
yeah
Yup - much easier to get blocks in the winter due to Christmas plus less people wanting to work in the bad weather and in darkness but yea, there's always blocks available. Some areas are much easier to get blocks at than others, I only know the South West region which is pretty good for getting blocks.
In my opinion you should just do food delivery
In a car??? He will make much less
they was some nice houses
£15 an hour for delivering parcels, christ how much do you wanna get paid
@@matthewbelcher5389 He's got to pay towards his pension, holiday pay, sick pay. £15 is not the same as £15 working at McDonald's where you get many employee benefits.
It's not the worst wage, but in comparison to most other blocks, it's on the lower end and was much more difficult in terms of the locations. Plus, you have car maintenance to pay for which I can't account for in my hourly earnings. If I were to breakdown or damage the car on a route like this, that all comes out of my own wallet.
Maybe you're the benchmark for Amazon Flex now, I've watched other drivers and they couldn't cut it on those country lanes 😅
They need to get themselves a used Micra, can handle anything 😂
I never calculate my earnings the way that you do. Too bloody depressing. If I take a block from Bathgate I'm 48 miles to the depot, and if I get a Musselburgh / Tranent / Wallyford route I'm another 28-30 miles to my first drop. So I only take blocks when I can get a morning and an afternoon block to make the mileage viable.
And my best guess at your runover time is that the Amazon algorithm is calculated on a higher average speed on those country lanes. It will view as a national (60mph) speed and maybe average you to around 40mph expected. But the reality is that 40mph would be excessive on many of them and your average speed is probably nearer to 20-30mph.
On the bright side at least on these routes you don't have 40 drops that are all flats with the constant delays trying to get someone to answer the buzzers (when they are working !!!) and every other parcel three up or more.
To be fair, I leave out my commute to the depo in the numbers - but, obviously I do account for it privately, and put it this way, I only do these routes when I can get 2 in a day, or if I'm filming and can earn something back from the video. Otherwise, not worth it for me. And yea, rural routes have the benefit of no traffic, no flats, customers are generally nicer, etc. and it can be a nice change of pace sometimes!
Great Job About Are Amazon Flex Routes Getting Even Harder to Finish On Time Auto Hustles
😊
I really like your content but can you try to be less negative. The way you calculate everything is wrong. The block ends when you make your last delivery if you don’t have to return anything. That trip back to the depot you aren’t making but calculating is a nonsense.
Wrong. You calculate it how ever you want but return to the station is fair way of doing it considering the time and mileage back home/station. Amazon don't know if your returning but it's fair to say that many routes will have returns for various reasons.
I did it for a short while, but literally every time I had to return something, usually due to id being required, then they sent emails complaining I was returning items, what else are you supposed to do? Absolute crap
@@Gingerharry2011 no way you can get round id requirements but I'm pretty sure there's an option for "customer refused" and this should not impact your standings if marked correctly. If they do penalize you email them explaining, but personally if I'm not low on my standing I just ignore
Hahah I just CAN'T be positive in certain situations 😂 I speak my mind at the time and that's just me. And to explain the depo return being added on, the reason I do that is to account for the randomness of whether you need to return parcels or not, plus the distance you end up from home being completely out of your control. Finishing 50 miles from home vs. finishing 1 mile away absolutely needs to be accounted for. Amazon have no idea if you're going to need to go back to the depo, and mostly returns are out of your control (password customer not in, for example) so it absolutely should be included in your route.
Dude... It's his channel! He can do or be however he wants! 😜
£15,26 an hour, nothing to be sniffed at!
Shit money. You need a good car, you need a good phone/charger/holder, a lot of patience. Maintainence of vehicle fuel tyres etc. Sh1t money.
It's not too bad, until you consider the wear and tear these routes inflict on your car, plus possibility of these roads damaging your car and breaking down where the costs would come out my own wallet. If it was a company van where you don't have to worry about that, then £12p/h would be good. But when it's your own car, there's more to consider.
@@autohustles have you considered getting something like a VW caddy, putting it against the business etc?
But true, some good points for sure! Must be frustrating to get the balance of 'get the job done by x time' with 'slow, there might be a big pothole round the corner'
I love your videos, but you can take moaning to the next level, £15.26 an hour is not bad. Keep it going as self employed remember per week not per hour
I speak my feelings in the moment! I love a good moan, won't lie. You're right though, it's not an awful result, but I can't help but compare it to the Flex blocks where I make £18-20 an hour delivering in way easier areas, that's why it feels bad.
@@autohustles it wasnt a dig but it is up and down but the result seems to be ok in the end
