Used to do Amazon out of Eurocentral. Stupid numbers of parcels and stops. However, when they change the routetrace, it was a complete ballache of a day. Happened regularly... Now I drive for a company that does relocations. Pretty easy, driving a 3.5T van until the universities finish up, then we can get pretty hectic about 10 stops a day.
I have floated around different driving jobs for the last 8 years after finishing up my courier company.. I mainly follow the money these days, I don't mind grafting 🙏😜 Thanks for commenting 🙏
I did this job in 2015 in the run-up to Christmas. It was a nightmare. There were typically 230+ drops, and the workload was impossible to complete in the 10 hours they reckoned it would take.
Things are definitely better these days with the routing I think, I'm quite fast when needed, depending on my mood 😆 I had 257 locations last week with 300 parcels and 178 'stops'
@@RoaminRob I imagine a lot has changed since 2015. We didn't have the Amazon-branded Ford Transits, we were using unmodified Renault Trafic/ Vauxhall Vivaro vans, where the packages were stacked up in the cargo area, no shelves or bags to help organise anything. I would spend up to 1 hour sorting packages from the three roll cages you got, to get the packages into the order of the stops, so I could find them relatively quickly when I got to the stop. We didn't have an app; we had a device which they called a DORA. The devices had awful battery life and needed to be constantly on charge; otherwise, they would die on you. The job was sadly spoilt by supervisors constantly calling you because they felt you should be further ahead in the stops you had completed; they failed to realise that by constantly calling, they were actually slowing you down. The route planning was generally good, but it assumed you were working 10 hours non-stop (no time for a coffee break) and it clearly made zero allowance for any traffic level or customers not being in. There was an expectation that all packages must be delivered, so if someone wasn't in, you were expected to keep trying until a neighbour would accept it, but this just slowed you down.
Haha each job is hard in its own right, I've done nearly every job and I'm never happy haha but I will admit I find Amazon the easiest, and the least actual hours out deliving 👍
Glad to see all is well man 👍🏻. Get them pounds in the bank then go and enjoy life 👍🏻 it's how life should be. Safe travels sending love, peace and good energy ❤️🙏🏻
well, that was different. In my sister's caravan park they wont allow amazon deliveries. They have to be dropped off at the post office in Settle. Thats a proper mad day and the faffing with the phone apps. every video is an eye opener! they certainly make you earn your wages thats for sure. Its enough to make you pull your hair out! 🙏-Kenny

What are the consequences for drivers, should they deliver a package to the wrong destination, or damage a package, or some other accident/mess up?

In uk, you don’t take a picture of package, once you drop it off?
